Warning this is a Pro-Militia post!

gucomili

“My friends and countrymen… the powers of the sword are in the hands of the yeomanry of America from sixteen to sixty.

The militia of these free commonwealths, entitled and accustomed to their arms, when compared with any possible army, must be tremendous and irresistible.

Who are the militia? Are they not ourselves? Is it feared then, that we shall turn our arms each man against his own bosom?

Congress have no right to disarm the militia. Their swords, and every other terrible implement of the soldier, are the birth-right of an American….

The unlimited power of the sword is not in the hands of either the federal or the state governments, but where I trust in God it will ever remain, in the hands of the people.”

– Tench Coxe, delegate to the Continental Congress in the Pennsylvania Gazette, February 20, 1788

Iran Arms Their Stolen U.S. Drone ‘to Attack the U.S. Warships’

The Iranian military says that it has fully reverse engineered a downed U.S. drone and armed it with missiles “to attack the U.S. warships in any possible battle.”

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) made the announcement on Sunday as Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei toured an IRGC military compound to view the new drones, according to reports in Iran’s state-run media.

Iran also revealed over the weekend the existence of new ballistic missiles and an air defense system that can reportedly destroy multiple targets at once.

The unveiling of the new drone has been met with particular fanfare by the IRGC, which announced more than two years ago that it had successfully downed an RQ-170 drone built by Lockheed Martin.

An Open Letter to the GOP Establishment: You’re Failing America

by Frank Roche

Only 15.6% of us who live in North Carolina ‘s 2nd District bothered to vote on Tuesday, May 6, 2014.  Republican and Independents, 21,358 of them, voted to give Rep. Renee Ellmers another two years in office.  We missed sending a true conservative leader to the U.S. House by 6,370 votes.

Pathetic.

In the 36 hours after not winning a hard run election there are many emotions that come and go: disappointment, sadness, guilt, bewilderment, frustration, and anger.  I’m in the frustration and anger stage.  Remember SNL from 1988, “How am I losing to this guy?”  Note to self: U.S. Congress, proper qualifications not required.

What is the GOP establishment thinking?

The establishment, with some help from one of our newest lefty billionaires and the left leaning media, helped reelect the least qualified candidate in the 2nd District Republican primary.  They failed the 2nd District and America .  They overstepped their pledged boundaries of neutrality during the primary and again demonstrated themselves to be part of the problem.  Local petty political gate-keepers assisted their poorly qualified incumbent in ways that require they be removed from their volunteer Chairmanship positions.  Continue reading

Putin Speaks On Ukraine Independence Vote: “Respects” Result, Calls For “Civilized Implementation”

As previously reported, the key event of the weekend was the east Ukraine independence referendum which, as expected, passed by a landslide. Of course, the outcome of the referendum itself was largely irrelevant: all that mattered was that it happened, and that it gave the Kremlin the necessary and sufficient justification to intervene and enter the eastern territory when so needed. And hours ago, in its first official statement on the referendum, the Kremlin said Monday “it respects the secession referendum in eastern Ukraine and hopes for a “civilized implementation” of the results through talks between Kiev and representatives in the east.” In other words, at least in the eyes of Putin, Ukraine no longer has a legitimate claim to remain in Ukraine.

From the WSJ:

Pro-Russian separatists declared victory in Sunday’s vote, ratcheting up tensions between the West and Moscow. In its first comments since the referendum, the Kremlin appears to challenge the West and Kiev’s standpoint that it was illegitimate. (Read the latest updates on the crisis in Ukraine.)

Khamenei orders Revolutionary Guards to mass-produce missiles

Iran's Fateh 110 balllistic missileIran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei threw a large spanner in the works of nuclear diplomacy Sunday, May 11. Less than a week before the next round of talks with the six powers, he said: “The Revolutionary Guards should definitely… not be satisfied with the present level [of missile production]. They should mass produce.”

Referring to Western concerns that Iran is designing missiles able to carry nuclear warheads, Khamenei said: “They [the West] expect us to limit our missile program while they constantly threaten Iran with military action. So this is a stupid, idiotic expectation.”
Khamenei spoke during a visit to the aeronautics fair organized by the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC), which are responsible for Iran’s missile and nuclear programs.
In recent weeks, Washington, Tehran, Moscow and the International Atomic Energy in Vienna have pumped out a stream of optimistic reports about the progress made in drafting a comprehensive nuclear accord and Tehran’s faithful observance of the interim deal reach last November.

Doug Hagmann: Getting to the “Foggy Bottom” of Benghazi

“Follow the money.” That was the directive given to Washington Post journalists Woodward and Bernstein by their confidential source code named “Deep Throat” to get to the bottom of the Nixon White House cover-up of the Watergate burglaries in 1972.

It was, in part, from the persistence of the Fourth Estate that resulted in the creation of the Senate Watergate Committee, which ultimately led to the indictments of forty administration officials, the convictions of several others, and the resignation of a sitting president as articles of impeachment were being introduced in the House of Representatives.

Notice here that it was not just the crime, but the cover-up. Especially the cover-up.

In consideration of last week’s announcement of a Select Committee on Benghazi,  truth-seeking Americans titillated by the formation of this committee would be well advised to recall the backroom dealings that established the Senate Watergate Committee and the political perimeters to which it was bound. The back story is nicely articulated by Jeffrey Lord in his article published in the American Spectator titled Trey Gowdy and the Real Lesson of Watergate. Although I am in favor of the formation of a truly independent investigative body, my hopes for the whole truth to be made known are not only tempered by history, but the magnitude of the crime, not scandal, that is now simply known as “Benghazi.”

The Economics Of Marriage

Marriage - Photo by Eric Ward

by Michael Snyder

The marriage rate in the United States has fallen to the lowest level ever recorded.  So why is this happening?  Well, the truth is that there are a lot of reasons why so many young people are choosing not to get married today.  One big reason is money.  Young adults in the U.S. are really struggling to find good jobs, and many are hesitant to take a big step like marriage without achieving a certain level of financial security first.  And as you will see below, many young adults (especially women) do not even want to date someone that is not employed.  In this harsh economic environment, money makes a big difference in the world of romance.  Another big reason for the decline of marriage in America is a seismic shift in cultural attitudes.  Americans (especially young people) do not place the same kind of importance on marriage and having children that they once did.  Instead, more Americans are choosing to “move in together” than ever before.  But if the percentage of Americans that choose to get married continues to decline, what is that going to mean for our future, and what is our country going to look like moving forward?

Southern Poverty Law Center Labels Common Core Critics “Extremists”

by Eric Owens

Fresh off its “Hate Map” that inspired a fellow leftist to go to the Family Research Council headquarters in an attempt to kill a bunch of people and rub their faces with Chick-fil-A sandwiches, the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) has issued a derisive report condemning opposition to Common Core as a propaganda effort by “far-right extremists” to destroy public schools.

“Across the United States, a fierce wave of resistance is engulfing the Common Core State Standards, threatening to derail this ambitious effort to lift student achievement and, more fundamentally, to undermine the very idea of public education,” the May 2014 report proclaims.

The report largely ignores the large number of critics on the American political left, including the Chicago Teachers Union, who deplore Common Core because it mandates evermore standardized testing. It also largely ignores the complaints of a multitude of critics on the right, who oppose a technocratic takeover of public education that wrests education decisions out of the hands of local school boards and parents.

Rush Limbaugh: Pope Francis is Talking Redistribution Again

RUSH: Now, I want to go back this pope story. There’s a couple of interesting paragraphs here in the AP story, and we have to allow they could be totally wrong and incorrect because it is the AP. However, the pope is singing the AP’s tune here, so it could be pretty accurate.

One paragraph is: “Francis had a similar message to the World Economic Forum in January and in h is apostolic exhortation ‘The Joy of the Gospel.’ That document, which denounced trickle-down economic theories as unproven and naïve, provoked criticism in the U.S. that he was Marxist.”

I wonder who said that? It doesn’t say. But trickle-down economic theories are proven, they are not naïve, they happen to work, and it is the essence of economic growth. Trickle-down is exactly what happens in a vibrant economy. Anyway, “Francis urged the UN to promote development goals that attack the root causes of poverty and hunger, protect the environment and ensure dignified labor for all.”

The UN is one of the root causes of poverty, if you want to get down to brass tacks. The UN wouldn’t know how to properly identify the root cause of poverty if it had to because the root cause of poverty is the isms: socialism, communism, Marxism, liberalism, you name it. You want everybody to be poor, that’s what you do. Take a look at Venezuela. Now they’re rationing everything. This paradise, workers paradise, nationalized all those industries, took over all the oil companies, nationalized this, nationalized that, Hugo Chavez. Now he’s room temperature, but the country is just a basket case.

Frank Roche Discusses a Pathway for the GOP

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V0FoBP8wuwo

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Frank Roche discusses some points after his loss in the primary to Renee Ellmers in the US House primary for NC District 2.
Renee Ellmers is a disgrace to North Carolina and especially her constituents. The videos released in her few meetings with a limited amount of her “peasants” should have caused any honorable candidate to withdraw. Arrogance, thy name is Renee Ellmers. Ignorance, the voters in the 2nd district of North Carolina who supported Renee and another term.
David DeGerolamo
Update:
Roche: ‘The low-information voter was tricked again’
Often, those who lose a party primary end their campaign with a call for party unity, congratulate the winner and perhaps line themselves up to serve in some lesser public capacity such as an appointed board until the next election rolls around.
That is not the approach Frank Roche is taking.
The Republican who challenged 2nd District Congresswoman Renee Ellmers in this week’s primary used a missive emailed to supporters and posted on his website to criticize the GOP establishment, the media and particularly Ellmers.
On the 15 percent voter turnout in the district, he says,”Pathetic.”
