David Green, founder and CEO of Hobby Lobby, has, through great hesitation, decided to sue the federal government to ensure his rights to pursue his religious rights as guaranteed in the First Amendment to the United States Constitution.
This is just another in a long line of needless lawsuits arising out of an unjust and unconstitutional law, affectionately called Obamacare by Barack Obama, or otherwise given the ironic title of Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, which accomplishes neither patient protection, nor affordable care.
The Constitutional questions are not questions at all. There is no more clear wording in the Bill of Rights than: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.” There simply is no more clear admonition than “Congress shall make no law…” What part of “no” is vague? What part of “congress” is vague? What part of “law” is vague? What part of “prohibiting the free exercise thereof” is vague?

After waiting in line for 45 minutes yesterday just to renew my concealed carry permit, I can verify that the people in Wake County are arming themselves. I did feel sorry for the young pregnant woman who also stood in line for her concealed carry permit. She also had to wait for the fingerprint process.

What are we to make of this sudden rash of banker suicides? Does this trail of dead bankers lead somewhere? Or could it be just a coincidence that so many bankers have died in such close proximity? I will be perfectly honest and admit that I do not know what is going on. But there are some common themes that seem to link at least some of these deaths together. First of all, most of these men were in good health and in their prime working years. Secondly, most of these “suicides” seem to have come out of nowhere and were a total surprise to their families. Thirdly, three of the dead bankers worked for JP Morgan. Fourthly, several of these individuals were either involved in foreign exchange trading or the trading of derivatives in some way. So when “a foreign exchange trader” jumped to his death from the top of JP Morgan’s Hong Kong headquarters this morning, that definitely raised my eyebrows. These dead bankers are starting to pile up, and something definitely stinks about this whole thing.
What would cause a young man that is making really good money to jump off of a 30 story building? The following is how the South China Morning Post described the dramatic suicide of 33-year-old Li Jie…
An investment banker at JP Morgan jumped to his death from the roof of the bank’s headquarters in Central yesterday.
Witnesses said the man went to the roof of the 30-storey Chater House in the heart of Hong Kong’s central business district and, despite attempts to talk him down, jumped to his death.

From the News & Observer:
A Wake County jury on Tuesday found U.S. Senate candidate Greg Brannon misled two investors in a startup tech company he helped launch.
The verdict against him came after eight hours of deliberation in a case spanned two weeks and will likely pose political problems for the Republican contender.
Brannon reacted in silence, bowing his head as the verdict was read. A co-defendant, Robert Rice, was cleared of responsibility in the case.
“I completely disagree with this verdict and feel that I was treated unfairly by the court,” Brannon said following the reading of the verdict. “I will defend my integrity and will be appealing this decision.”

As Dr. Brannon’s star is rising, he can expect character attacks from multiple sources. In typical fashion, the News & Observer puts out a flashy headline and a sound bite video. They could have put a link back for more information on YouTube. But then there is a reason that the “News & Disturber” (as it is known in Raleigh) has been hurt by declines in advertising revenue and circulation.

It’s no secret that Glenn is not a fan of politicians, and he speaks to all of them with great skepticism. But on radio this morning, he spoke with a Senate candidate from North Carolina, Dr. Greg Brannon, and he was pleasantly surprised by what he heard. In fact, Glenn went so far as call Brannon “perhaps the best candidate [he has] ever talked to the first time out of the shoot.”
“So we have decided that we wanted to be able to highlight some of the candidates around the country that are really truly winnable. And beyond winnable, they are candidates that are cut from the cloth of Ted Cruz, Ran Paul, or Mike Lee,” Glenn said. “I have not met this man, but… Matt Kibbe has compared him to Ted Cruz and Rand and Mike. He’s running for Senate against the Democrat Kay Hagan in North Carolina. His name is Greg Brannon.”
Brannon is a father of seven, practicing OBGYN, and longtime listener of the program, who openly discussed what led him to run for Senate and what he believes to be the biggest issues facing the nation. To begin, Glenn asked him why he chose to enter the political fray.
“Well first off, I believe it’s a service not politics. I’m 53. Our generation is going to pass on a less free America, unless we stand. And I’m not going to look at my children’s face and the
9,000 babies I delivered 15 years from now and they say: Where were in the fight for liberty. This is 1770 all over again,” Brannon said. “Mike Lee, Ted Cruz, Rand Paul – that’s our future of our country. It’s going back to our foundational core beliefs and who we are. And I’m not going to sit here on the sidelines.”

Credit card issuer Capital One isn’t shy about getting into customers’ faces. The company recently sent a contract update to cardholders that makes clear it can drop by any time it pleases.
The update specifies that “we may contact you in any manner we choose” and that such contacts can include calls, emails, texts, faxes or a “personal visit.”
A personal visit? Oh yes, they apparently go on to tell you that this “visit” could be to your office.
Now that would be just dandy, right? Your card company shows up at your place of employment? Gee, that might not get you fired. Oh wait….
But it gets better:
“We may modify or suppress caller ID and similar services and identify ourselves on these services in any manner we choose.”
In other words, while contacting you they can also lie about who they are.
The marketable debt of the U.S. government has more than doubled–climbing by 106 percent–while President Barack Obama has been in office, increasing from $5,749,916,000,000 at the end of January 2009 to $11,825,322,000,000 at the end of January 2014, according to the U.S. Treasury’s latest Monthly Statement of the Public Debt.
During the eight-year presidency of George W. Bush, the marketable debt of the U.S. government almost doubled–climbing 93 percent–from $2,977,328,000,000 at the end of January 2001 to $5,749,916,000,000 at the end of January 2009.
During the time that Bush and Obama have been in office, the marketable debt of the U.S. government has nearly quadrupled, increasing by $8,847,994,000,000.

The banker suicide wave that started in late January has now become an epidemic, and it seems to be focusing on one bank: JP Morgan.
After the first suicide that took place in JPM’s London headquarters, ending the life of 39 year old Gabriel Magee, a vice president in the investment bank’s technology department, next it was 37 year old Ryan Crane, an executive director in the firm’s program trading division, who died under still unknown circumstances.
Moments ago a third JPMorgan banker committed suicide, this time at the JPMorgan Charter House Asia headquarters in central Hong Kong, where a 33 year old man who was said to have been an FX trader for JPM, just jumped to his death.
Not much is known yet about the circumstances of the suicide, however according to early reports, the man was 33-years-old, surnamed Lee, and believed to be a forex trader for JP Morgan.
Commuters noticed the man at the top of Chater House around 2pm to 3pm in the afternoon and called the police but policemen who arrived at the scene failed to convince the man not to jump. The deceased was sent to the hospital immediately but was pronounced dead on arrival. As several lanes on Connaught Road Central were closed because of the incident, traffic in the area were chaotic.

A friend suggested that I write an article about the things I’d do to prepare my community. All talk of “action” aside, there are a handful of tasks that each of us should be doing in order to prepare to protect our communities and ourselves. I’ve prepared a JPEG (download here) for anyone who’d like to print it off as a reminder. Hand them out to your friends, family, or team members. Before anyone takes a step towards his own Lexington Green, he should first focus on these things in order to a) ensure that he has a support zone (if his family’s neighbors don’t support his plan, he doesn’t have a support zone); b) ensure that his family will be protected; and c) ensure that he has done what he can to prepare his family and community at the very basic level.
Security, as we all know, is nothing more than a psychological construct. If we feel secure, then we believe that weare secure. I could feel 100% secure in my own kitchen, but if I don’t know about the two gunmen hiding in my living room, then I’m not really secure (although I might feel happy and secure!). I lock my doors at night because it makes me feel secure, but that won’t stop a determined criminal. You could lock all the doors and windows in your home, but if your gas fireplace or propane tank explodes then those locks did nothing to protect you. If you double check all the door and window locks, and ensure that the propane is turned off and not leaking, but if your wife plans to kill you while you’re sleeping, then you may have felt secure but you really weren’t. The TSA, security cameras and police fool people into believing they’re secure; “security” is a sham.

Dozens were injured as Ukrainian protesters seeking President Viktor Yanukovych’s ouster clashed with police as they tried to reach parliament and pressure lawmakers to end a deadly three-month standoff.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk, a lawmaker and former central banker, and Oleh Tyahnybok, who heads the nationalist Svoboda party, led thousands of demonstrators into Mariyinskyi Park just south of the legislature before police halted the advance, triggering violence. It’s the first mass action outside their compound around Independence Square, formed three months ago, since Jan. 19, when the last march was repelled.
