GRNC-PVF Alert 02-10-14: Support Pro-Gun Legislator Rep. Larry Pittman

SUPPORT PRO-GUN REP. LARRY PITTMAN

GRNC’s “Larry Pittman Benefit Shoot” is fast approaching (Feb. 27), and if you don’t have your tickets yet, now is the time to get them. Attending this event means you’re supporting North Carolina’s most pro-gun legislator, but there is a lot more to it than even that. This benefit, held at Eagle Guns, in Concord, will allow you the opportunity to do all of the following:

  • Meet NC’s most pro-gun legislator, Representative Larry Pittman.
  • Meet GRNC President F. Paul Valone.
  • Compete for GRNC apparel in the centerfire handgun steel plate match (9mm or greater).
  • Compete for GRNC apparel in the rimfire handgun “darts” match.
  • For an inexpensive rental rate, shoot a sub-machine gun.
  • Test the new Glocks! (models 41 & 42).

It takes guts to stand up to leadership in defense of gun rights, but there is a price: So called “mainstream” Republicans are determined to remove Pittman. Now the most pro-gun member of the NC House is facing a well-financed RINO in the primary. What will you do about it?

Representative Larry Pittman (R, Cabarrus, GRNC ****) was critical to passing the largest expansion of gun rights in North Carolina history, House Bill 937.

How so? With GRNC support, Pittman led a “floor fight” to return restaurant carry to a bill from which leadership had stripped it. Realizing the seriousness of the effort, House leadership later moved restaurant carry, the Senate improved it, and the rest is history.

Attend the “Larry Pittman Benefit Shoot” and Defend the most pro-gun NC House Rep Continue reading

Syria: Beseiged Areas

Guerrillamerica

by Sam Culper III

I haven’t kept up to date with Syria.  So many places, so little time.  But I did come across this website, and it shows some excellent examples of how we delineate Areas of Operation (AO), Operation Boxes (OpBox), or as this map shows, besieged areas or occupied/held territory. (Read the article, if so inclined.  Interesting COIN strategy.  Assad seems to be taking Kilcullen’s “kill a city to save it” a little too literally.)

You could create map overlays in this manner by breaking down voting districts (red v. blue), socio-economic areas (by any available census data at http://www.census.gov or http://www.census.gov/2010census/popmap/ when it wants to work), high crime areas, etc.

Boehner Keeps On Folding: Now Proposes Clean Debt Ceiling Bill

A week ago, we reported that unlike on previous occasions, this time Boehner decided to fold like a lawn chair early in this year’s debt ceiling hike debate, and sure enough moments ago Politico confirmed as much when it reported that “House Republicans are abandoning their plan to lift the debt limit and restore military pension cuts due to flagging support from the rank and file. The announcement was made Tuesday morning in a private GOP meeting.” As we also predicted, Politico adds that “now, the GOP will have to pass a so-called clean lift of the debt ceiling — one without policy strings attached. But even that won’t be easy. Senior Republican lawmakers and aides are openly wondering just how many of their members will vote for a clean debt ceiling — Democrats will have to bear the brunt of passing the bill, GOP insiders say.” And the punchline for the vote, which is set for Wednesday, “Senior GOP sources wonder if they’ll be able to get 18 Republicans to vote for a debt ceiling increase — the bare minimum for passage if every Democrat votes yes.

DoD Program 1033: Militarizing America’s Cops

A January 19, 2014 article in The Salt Lake Tribune exposed the DoD Excess Property Program, or “1033 program,” run by the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) “to transfer leftover military materiel (supplies and equipment) to U.S. state and local civilian law enforcement agencies,” including “grenade launchers, helicopters, military robots, M-16 assault rifles, armored vehicles, riverboats, Battle Dress Uniform clothing, and information technology equipment.”

This past year, the Utah Highway Patrol—totaling about 500 troopers—received a mine-resistant ambush protected vehicle, known as an MRAP, typically reserved for war zones. According to The Tribune, law enforcement agencies in Utah also received 1,230 rifles, four grenade launchers, 17 .45-caliber pistols and a variety of magazines and accessories through the 1033 program.

Congress initiated the 1033 program in 1997, which “has transferred more than $4.3 billion worth of property to law enforcement,” according to the Law Enforcement Support Office section of DLA’s website.

Gun control activist swears he forgot he was carrying gun while visiting school

A Buffalo, N.Y. community activist who is well known locally for pushing for a highly restrictive 2013 gun control law has been arrested for — wait for it — carrying a gun illegally at a public elementary school.

The arrested gun-control advocate, Dwayne Ferguson, caused quite a scene at Harvey Austin Elementary School, reports local CBS affiliate WIVB.

At about 4:15 p.m. on Thursday, police acted on a pair of anonymous 911 tips. A battalion of cops quickly swarmed the school. The brigade included over a dozen squad cars, the SWAT team and K9 units. The Erie County Sheriff’s Air One helicopter and what appears to be an armored vehicle also turned up.

The Trigger: If This Ever Happens You Know You’re Days Away From Nuclear War

thermo-nuke

by Joel Skousen

Here’s how I think it’s going down. I think there will be an attack against South Korea. The North Koreans have over two million troops… 20,000 artillery… they can level Seoul in a matter of three or four days. The only way the U.S. can stop that attack is using tactical nuclear weapons.

And that would give China the excuse to nuke the United States.U.S. is guilty of first-use, the U.S. is the bully of the world, Russia and Chinese unite to launch against U.S. military targets. Not civilian targets per say. There will be about 12 or 15 cities that are inextricably connected with the military that are going to get hit that I mentioned in Strategic Relocation… you don’t want to be in those cities.

You may have two days notice when that attack in Korea starts, before China launches on the United States.

And if you ever see everything blackout, because both Russia and China will use a preemptive nuclear EMP strike to take down the grid… before the nukes actually fall… anytime you see all electricity out, no news, nothing at all… that’s the time you need to be getting out of cities before the panic hits.

APPROACHING IRANIAN WARSHIPS RAISE EMP THREAT

National security experts have expressed alarm over the announcement by Iran that it will position its warships off the coast of the United States, from where they could launch a nuclear warhead to explode at high altitude to create an electromagnetic pulse.

That could knock the American electrical grid out of commission, disrupting supplies of energy, food, communications, fuel and more for a long period.

These experts agree that there would be no warning and that the U.S. missile defense system would not be able to respond in time to prevent the high altitude nuclear explosion. They also believe that if such a missile were launched, it would not be from an Iranian warship but from a commercial vessel sailing along the East Coast or in the Gulf of Mexico.

“It shows they could put a weapon on a boat or freighter, and if Iran has ballistic missiles it could put it anywhere on the U.S. coast,” said John Bolton, former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations and currently a senior fellow at the Washington-based American Enterprise Institute.

If I was Iran, I would transfer the warheads to Venezuela and then park off the east coast of the United States. After the warheads can be transferred to another boat that could not be tracked back to Iran, I would launch them from the Gulf of Mexico as outlined in “One Second After”.

White House Draws Red Line on Iranian Ballistic Missile Program

Iranian army members prepare missiles to be launched / AP

The White House on Monday pushed back against Iran’s efforts to set a “red line” preventing negotiations over its contested ballistic missile program, which has been permitted to continue undeterred under the recently signed interim nuclear accord.

One of Iran’s top nuclear negotiators stated early Monday that Iran would under no circumstances negotiate with the West on its ballistic missile program. These remarks were accompanied by the announcement that Tehran had successfully test fired two ballistic missiles, which are the preferred delivery system for nuclear arms.

“The defense-related issues are a red line for Iran,” Abbas Araqchi, Iran’s senior negotiator and its deputy foreign minister, was quoted as saying on Monday, just a week before talks are set to resume. “We will not allow such issues to be discussed in future talks.”

However, the White House quickly pushed back against the comments, vowing to force the issue during upcoming negotiations and demand that it be resolved under a final deal.

“Dear Ann Barnhardt: You Have Totally Destroyed My Life. Thank You.”

Ann,

You have totally destroyed my life.  Thank you.  I am a reserve soldier in [state redacted], and a member of the intelligence community.  I knew deep down in Iraq in 2004-2005 (I was a semi-practicing Baptist) that something was terribly wrong with America. Hell, I knew it when I was in college in the 90s, but it became starkly obvious that we were headed for economic collapse.    To clarify, I was handpicked by my commander to join the Warrant Officer Corps this past summer.  Through reading and reflecting on what you have written I have decided to leave the army that I have loved and served in for 13 years.  Perhaps I am not as brave as you are because I have chosen to wait out the next three years of my contract, then find something else to do.  My story is a long an convoluted one and I won’t bore you with all the details, but for me this decision has been especially harsh.  I am a second generation Cavalry Scout, my father and I both served with the 1st of the 7th US Cavalry; he fought in the Philippines in WWII and I served in Iraq.  If you could see my last half dozen NCOER’s you’d probably think that my evaluators thought I could walk on water.  I loved the army, and still do to a certain extent, but I can no longer wear the uniform knowing that I am lending my skills to this government which directly attacks the Constitution that I swore to uphold.  I told one of my friends recently that my ‘problem’ was that I was giving the regime legitimacy every time I put the uniform on.

22 Facts About The Coming Demographic Tsunami That Could Destroy Our Economy All By Itself

Tsunami

By Michael Snyder

Today, more than 10,000 Baby Boomers will retire.  This is going to happen day after day, month after month, year after year until 2030.  It is the greatest demographic tsunami in the history of the United States, and we are woefully unprepared for it.  We have made financial promises to the Baby Boomers worth tens of trillions of dollars that we simply are not going to be able to keep.  Even if we didn’t have all of the other massive economic problems that we are currently dealing with, this retirement crisis would be enough to destroy our economy all by itself.  During the first half of this century, the number of senior citizens in the United States is being projected to more than double.  As a nation, we are already drowning in debt.  So where in the world are we going to get the money to take care of all of these elderly people?

The Baby Boomer generation is so massive that it has fundamentally changed America with each stage that it has gone through.  When the Baby Boomers were young, sales of diapers and toys absolutely skyrocketed.  When they became young adults, they pioneered social changes that permanently altered our society.  Much of the time, these changes were for the worse.

According to the New York Post, overall household spending peaks when we reach the age of 46.  And guess what year the peak of the Baby Boom generation reached that age?…

From YouTube:

The Associated Press is reporting the White House is considering using a drone to kill an American citizen who is a allegedly a member of al-Qaida. The AP did not name the man or the country where he is residing. The Obama administration has killed four U.S. citizens in drone strikes since 2009, including Anwar al-Awlaki and his son in separate strikes in Yemen.
