HHS: 5.6M of 6M Who Signed Up on Exchanges Will Get Federal Funding

HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius

HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius

In their first three months of operation, the federal and state health-insurance marketplaces created under the Affordable Care Act—AKA Obamacare–have signed up 5,572,305 people who qualify to get federal funding for their health care, either through Medicaid or through an insurance premium subsidy, according to data released by the Department of Health and Human Service.

Those 5,572,305 are part of the “6 million Americans” HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said today have used the exchanges to sign up for health insurance or Medicaid.

However, some of these people, as noted by CNNMoney, were already on Medicaid.

Today, HHS released a report on the number of people who from October through December signed up for health insurance plans through the marketplaces. The report says that, as of the end of December, 2,153,421 individuals had signed up for private health care plans. Of these, HHS had data on whether or not 2,082,840 had qualified for federal financial assistance in purchasing their plan.

Of those 2,082,840, some 1,646,237—or 79 percent–did qualify for federal assistance. 436,603-or 21 percent—did not.

US Citizens: 29 Times More Likely to be Killed by Police Than Terrorists

copsbrutal

The increase in police brutality in this country is a frightening reality. In the last decade alone the number of innocent people murdered by police has reached 5,000.

What went wrong? In the 19070’s SWAT teams were estimated to be used just a few hundred times per year, now we are looking at over 40,000 military style “knock and announce” police raids a year.

The police presence in this country is being turned into a military with a clearly defined enemy, anyone who questions the establishment.

If we look at the most recent numbers of non-military US citizens killed by terrorism worldwide, that number is 17. You have a better chance of being killed by a bee sting, or a home repair accident than you do a terrorist. And you are 29 times more likely to be murdered by a cop than a terrorist!

Are we living in a police state? Definitely. Does that mean that all police are bad? Of course not. Like everything else: prepare and do your due diligence now.  We do a lot of work for police and sheriff’s departments. Most of our clients know what is coming. They are preparing and I believe most will help. At least in North Carolina.

Why Is Goldman Sachs Warning That The Stock Market Could Decline By 10 Percent Or More?

Time Is Running Out

By Michael Snyder

Why has Goldman Sachs chosen this moment to publicly declare that stocks are overpriced?  Why has Goldman Sachs suddenly decided to warn all of us that the stock market could decline by 10 percent or more in the coming months?  Goldman Sachs has to know that when they release a report like this that it will move the market.  And that is precisely what happened on Monday.  U.S. stocks dropped precipitously.  So is Goldman Sachs just honestly trying to warn their clients that stocks may have become overvalued at this point, or is another agenda at work here?  To be fair, the truth is that all of the big banks should be warning their clients about the stock market bubble.  Personally, I have stated that the stock market has officially entered “crazytown territory“.  So it would be hard to blame Goldman Sachs for trying to tell the truth.  But Goldman Sachs also had to know that a warning that the stock market could potentially fall by more than 10 percent would rattle nerves on Wall Street.

This report that has just been released by Goldman Sachs has gotten a lot of attention.  In fact, an article about this report was featured at the top of the CNBC website for quite a while on Monday.  Needless to say, news of this report spread on Wall Street like wildfire.  The following is a short excerpt from the CNBC article

Bailing Out Health Insurers and Helping Obamacare

Obamacare

Robert Laszewski—a prominent consultant to health insurance companies—recently wrote in a remarkably candid blog post that, while Obamacare is almost certain to cause insurance costs to skyrocket even higher than it already has, “insurers won’t be losing a lot of sleep over it.”  How can this be?  Because insurance companies won’t bear the cost of their own losses—at least not more than about a quarter of them.  The other three-quarters will be borne by American taxpayers.

For some reason, President Obama hasn’t talked about this particular feature of his signature legislation.  Indeed, it’s bad enough that Obamacare is projected by the Congressional Budget Office to funnel $1,071,000,000,000.00 (that’s $1.071 trillion) over the next decade (2014 to 2023) from American taxpayers, through Washington, to health insurance companies.  It’s even worse that Obamacare is trying to coerce Americans into buying those same insurers’ product (although there are escape routes).  It’s almost unbelievable that it will also subsidize those same insurers’ losses.

Obama Raleigh Protest

All:

President Obama is scheduled to speak on the economy at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center, on Varsity Drive across from Doak Field, at 1 p.m. Wednesday (January 15, 2014).

We will have lunch at our office (200 W. Morgan Street, Raleigh) on the 2nd floor at 11pm.  We can eat then carpool over to NCSU Campus from there.

We will have some signs here and you can bring your own if you wish.  PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING – if your sign includes:

1)      Death or physical threats to an elected official;

2)      An endorsement of a political candidate or party;

3)      Or anything viewed as overall offensive to common sense;

You will be told take your sign down.

We rarely have problems with these situations, but this will likely be a high profile media event and we’d like to stay on message. If any of the above items happen, then that becomes the story and we’re no longer on message talking about the President’s disastrous healthcare law.

What’s the message? President Obama and his cronies, such as Senator Hagan, lied to the American people so that they could pass Obamacare.

We look forward to having any and all of you!

Please let me know if you have any questions and if you plan on attending.

Feds investigate Christie’s use of Sandy relief funds

Just days after dismissing two top advisers for their roles in the George Washington Bridge scandal, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie faced questions over the use of Superstorm Sandy relief funds.

CNN has learned that federal officials are investigating whether Christie improperly used some of that money to produce tourism ads that starred him and his family.

The news couldn’t come at a worse time for the embattled Republican, who is facing two probes in New Jersey of whether his staff orchestrated traffic gridlock near the country’s busiest bridge to punish a Democratic mayor who refused to endorse his re-election.

Confirmed: Obama Bundler Caught Working With al-Qaeda Linked Group

obama evans

Obama bundler Jodie Evans and Code Pink, the leftist group she co-leads, have been found to be working with a group whose leaders have recently been declared terrorists and al Qaeda supporters by the Treasury Department.

This is not the first time the Democratic Party allied group has been caught in bed with terrorists. As this writer has reported over the years, Code Pink works with terrorists, state sponsors of terrorists, the Democratic Party and President Barack Obama against the United States in the war on terror.

This most recent Code Pink tie to terrorists involves al Karama, a so-called human rights group. A report published this week by the Washington Free Beacon about Rep. Alan Grayson (D-FL) scheduling a meeting with a representative from the al Karama in November about the Obama administration’s use of armed drones to kill suspected terrorists prompted an examination by this writer of Code Pink’s alliance with al Karama.

Daily Kos Propaganda: Kick a Man When He Is Down

The tragic pathos of Frank Luntz

What Luntz simply seems unable to comprehend is that the presidential campaigns of Barack Obama did not sow discord into an otherwise peaceable and contented electorate. Instead, then-Senator Obama took advantage of the increasing frustrations with how the fundamentals of the American economy were working for regular people and capitalized on the financial sector’s irresponsible behavior to drive the point home. As David Atkins writes:

It doesn’t occur to Luntz for a second that the economy is genuinely terrible, that inequality is genuinely out of control, that the banks genuinely screwed everyone, that people genuinely haven’t had wage increases in 40 years even as cost of living spirals upward. It doesn’t occur to him that these are real problems that no language can explain away, and that people are genuinely angry and need help. Most voters may not be able to put the pieces together into a coherent whole, but they know that they’re suffering, that the system isn’t working anymore, and that fat cat elites (who they are varies depending on your political leanings, but the anger is heartfelt all the same) are profiting from all of it. No one sold them a bunch of cute phrases to convince them of that. It’s too damn obvious on its face. Those with no conscience whatsoever are still using racist and sexist code to sell the idea that the advantage-takers are welfare queens and nefarious liberal enablers, but that also only goes so far as the voters inclined to believe that age out of the electorate.

In other words, the very policies that Luntz has spent his life selling have made the electorate completely unresponsive to his sales technique because things have gotten so bad the electorate seems ready for something different. Meanwhile, Luntz believes that Occupy Wall Street got started not because people were given too little, but because they were given too much.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
According to the writer above, Obama was elected because the electorate was ready for something different. If that was true, how did Obama get reelected?
It is simple: buying votes and government workfare will win elections. For a time.
As for Frank Luntz, I believe he will rebound and my prayers are with him.
Putin Vows To Nuke Mecca
Vladimir Putin
In light of the two terrorist bombings in Russia just last month that killed a total of 34 people and injured more than 100 others, rumor is creeping out of the Kremlin that Putin has had enough with warnings and tough talk and is planning a tactical nuclear strike on Mecca, the heart of Islamic ideology; the Muslim holy land.
US and Iran “insulate” nuclear negotiations from “tensions” over Iran’s regional policy
Barack Obama's safety belt for IranThe Obama administration has promised Iran to ease progress toward a nuclear accord by treating Tehran’s aggressive regional policies as a separate issue and so keeping the path clear of any obstacles which may be raised by such opponents as Saudi Arabia and Israel. Monday, Jan. 14, senior administration sources admitted: “The United States and Iran have sought to insulate the nuclear negotiations from the tensions over Iran’s regional policies.”
Washington has thus given Tehran a free ride to a nuclear accord over the heads of regional objectors and also a license for continuing its destabilizing military intervention in Syria, Iraq and Lebanon – just so long as Iran sticks to productive nuclear diplomacy.
Sunday, the White House issued this welcome: “Beginning January 20th, Iran will for the first time start eliminating its stockpile of higher levels [20 pc] of enriched uranium and dismantling some of the infrastructure that makes such enrichment possible. Under the landmark deal reached in November, Iran will also halt parts of its enrichment program for six months in exchange for modest relief from international sanctions.”
Dr. Paul Craig Roberts: If the Currency Collapses & You Try to Flee Into Gold,There Won’t Be Any
httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hnZH05o0O1I
From YouTube:
 Former Assistant Treasury Secretary Dr. Paul Craig Roberts says, “The West is draining itself of physical bullion. . . If there is a currency collapses and you try to flee into gold, there won’t be any there. The Chinese will have it.” So, is this the year gold and silver stage a big turnaround? Roberts says, “It’s gone on longer than I thought it could go on. I didn’t realize all the deceptive and crooked methods they would use to rig the markets. The notion that a democratic capitalist country having its markets rigged by its own authorities–it blows the mind. This is not normal. What will they do next? I don’t know.”
