Freedom Lost

free

It is a sad day when Estonia is more free than the Land of the Free. The United States has dropped to the 12th most free country in the world (dropping six spots under Obama).

Why Does Economic Freedom Matter?

Economic freedom is a crucial component of liberty. It empowers people to work, produce, consume, own, trade, and invest according to their personal choices.

Why Does Economic Freedom Matter? – from The Heritage Foundation’s Understanding America series – explores the framework America’s Founders established for an economically free nation, and what economic freedom means for the United States and the rest of the world.

Stick a Fork in It

The media continues to ignore one of best signals of an impending economic downtown (or more likely collapse). There are several factors in play economically that should be considered in conjunction with this news:

1. The collapse of the labor force in the United States

2. The new taxes/fines/premiums for Obamacare.

3. The collapse of Obamacare (and our health industry sector).

4. The supply of physical gold and silver.

5. The economic downturns in Europe and Japan.

I believe the economic downtown is so severe that even another war will not have an impact.

Baltic Dry Continues Collapse – Worst Slide Since Financial Crisis

Despite ‘blaming’ the drop in the cost of dry bulk shipping on Colombian coal restrictions, it seems increasingly clear that the 40% collapse in the Baltic Dry Index since the start of the year is more than just that. While this is the worst start to a year in over 30 years, the scale of this meltdown is only matched by the total devastation that occurred in Q3 2008. Of course, the mainstream media will continue to ignore this dour index until it decides to rise once again, but for now, 9 days in a row of plunging prices is yet another canary in the global trade coalmine and suggests what inventory stacking that occurred in Q3/4 2013 is anything but sustained.

Baltic Dry costs are the lowest in 4 months, down 40% for the start of the year, and the worst start to a year in over 30 years…

Obama withholds from Israel details of nuclear accord with Iran: Tehran denies dismantling its program

What brakes has he applied to a nuclear Iran?US Vice President Joe Biden when he met Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu Monday night, Jan. 13, refused to level with him on the detailed agreements which the Americans claimed were reached by the six powers and Iran in their talks earlier this week on the implementation of their first-stage Geneva accord. This is reported by DEBKAfile’s Washington and Jerusalem sources.  It was the first time US President Barack Obama personally vetoed a briefing to Israel on the content of the international nuclear negotiations he instigated – notwithstanding his private and public pledges to Netanyahu of “full transparency.”

This secretiveness has stirred concern and mistrust in Jerusalem on two grounds:

1.  It denotes a sharp decline in the strategic relations between the Obama administration and the Netanyahu government and leaves Israel in the dark on an issue of vital concern to its security.

2.  It is suspected that there is no implementation agreement at all and that the US President, Secretary of State John Kerry and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov are repeating the performance they put on three months ago in Geneva. Then, they presented a very general framework of non-binding clauses reached between the six powers and Iran as a genuine, full-fledged, interim accord, when in reality it  omitted the details on how and when Iran would dismantle the military side of its nuclear program, and inter alia neglected to address the critical issue of Iran’s nuclear-capable ballistic missiles.

Ret US Navy Chief: Militia Mobilization Across The Nation Under Way

Be advised that I am in the process of notifying and contacting all legal and constitutionally created militia groups across the United States to mobilize on Washington DC for “Operation American Spring” currently scheduled for May 16th, 2014 and commanded by my friend Colonel Harry Riley US Army Intelligence (Retired) Silver star.

1.8 million people have already responded in kind and are mobilizing and or supporting this effort.  We need 10 million.

The Senate and the Congress feel it is in the best interest of this nation to fund illegal immigrants and keep them sustained with free health care, tax breaks, free education in our schools, EBT cards, public housing and the like. They wish to keep sending tax payer money to foreign countries that hate us. They wish to fund bogus global warming projects in the billions and they refuse to take a pay cut themselves.

Yet they will now deny the wounded veteran his pension COLA increases which he or she earned and depends on while struggling to survive day to day, some are in wheel chairs and without arms and legs.    Mr. Politician you are now going to be held accountable.

Four dead Americans. The pResident, Hillary Clinton, Susan Rice and Leon Panetta covered it up. Is this an impeachable offense? Let’s ask Ambassador Stevens.

More Lies about the Economy

As more people understand the manipulation of the economy (and its statistics) by the government and federal reserve, the more people will reevaluate their personal spending habits. A consumer based economy without consumer spending (especially in the services sector) will collapse. Couple this with the Obamacare mandate costs/taxes/fines and we can easily come to a conclusion that this may be their goal.

December Retail Sales Beat Due To November Revision Lower, Electronics Sales Tumble

Following ongoing promises from the Fed that the Taper will continue at a pace of $10 billion per month come rain or shine, suddenly good news are critical for stocks, as the stock market is desperate for a strong economy to which Yellen can pass the baton. It did not get that with Friday’s payrolls number so it was hoping for some good news in today’s retail sales. And judging by the market response to the just released December retail sales, it got it, if only for now: headline December retail sales rose 0.2%, on expectation on a 0.1% increase even as auto sales tumbled -1.8%. Retail Sales ex autos rose 0.7% higher than the 0.4% expected, while ex autos and gas was up a more modest 0.6%, also better than the 0.3% expected.

How is it possible that December retail sales according to the US government were better than expected, when every retailer has posted abysmal results? Well it seems the Census Bureau merely engaged in some recalendarization, with November numbers all revised substantially lower: headline down from 0.7% to 0.4%, ex autos 0.4% to 0.1%, and ex autos and gas from 0.6% to 0.3%. In other words, a complete wash with today’s “beat.”

So when netting away the calendar effect of an early start to the holiday season, perhaps the only value added data in the retail sales report was the data involving Electronics and Appliance Stores. They posted the biggest 2 month drop in 2 years!

The Cut-Out

OPSEC
by Sam Culper

Supanuch Hongsakrai, 28, was nabbed on Monday as she tried to check in a package at the bag-deposit counter. She claimed she had been hired by a man, identified only as Than, to pick up the package from a firm… check it in at the bag-deposit counter and hand the ticket over to another man. She was allegedly paid between [300-600 USD] each time.

She admitted to having done this three times before to earn money for her family, though she claimed that she did not know there were drugs inside the package because she had never looked. Police, charging the suspect for possessing narcotics with the intention to sell, will further interrogate her to try and nab her accomplices.

The cut-out.

As opposed to the dead drop, a system whereby two individuals transfer information or materiel without coming into contact, the cut-out is a go-between for the sender and receiver.  The cut-out essentially becomes the living dead drop, ensuring that the sender and receiver don’t come into contact.  The case officer/agent handler identifies and recruits the potential agent/courier through the steps of the Agent Recruiting Cycle.  The case officer provides directions; maybe the agent is a courier making dead drops, maybe the courier is the cut-out.  The cut-out simply accepts a package from an known (or unknown) entity, and then delivers it to another known (or unknown) entity.  This is how two individuals communicate ‘face-to-face-to-face‘ without coming into contact or even close proximity.

So let’s take this lady, for instance.

President’s goal for NSA reform — no more Edward Snowdens

The Obama administration plans to overhaul the nation’s security clearance system to prevent future intelligence leaks like the one by former defense contractor Edward Snowden.

The changes, part of a package of reforms President Obama is expected to announce Friday during a speech at the Justice Department, will include more stringent — and more frequent  — vetting of security clearances, according to sources familiar with the administration’s plans.
