GOLD & SILVER PLUNGE AS CARTEL OFFERS CYBER MONDAY SALE

After being pounded overnight throughout the London session back under $1250 and $20, the cartel has just provided precious metals investors with a full-fledged Cyber Monday sale, as gold has just been dropped down the proverbial mine-shaft to $1226, and silver to $19.43.

15 Signs That We Are Near The Peak Of An Absolutely Massive Stock Market Bubble

Bubble - Photo by Jeff Kubina

By Michael Snyder

One of the men that won the Nobel Prize for economics this year says that “bubbles look like this” and that he is “most worried about the boom in the U.S. stock market.”  But you don’t have to be a Nobel Prize winner to see what is happening.  It should be glaringly apparent to anyone with half a brain.  The financial markets have been soaring while the overall economy has been stagnating.  Reckless injections of liquidity into the financial system by the Federal Reserve have pumped up stock prices to ridiculous extremes, and people are becoming concerned.  In fact, Google searches for the term “stock bubble” are now at the highest level that we have seen since November 2007.  Despite assurances from the mainstream media and the Federal Reserve that everything is just fine, many Americans are beginning to realize that we have seen this movie before.  We saw it during the dotcom bubble, and we saw it during the lead up to the horrible financial crisis of 2008.  So precisely when will the bubble burst this time?  Nobody knows for sure, but without a doubt this irrational financial bubble will burst at some point.  Remember, a bubble is always the biggest right before it bursts, and the following are 15 signs that we are near the peak of an absolutely massive stock market bubble…

#1 Bob Shiller, one of the winners of this year’s Nobel Prize for economics, says that “bubbles look like this” and that he is “most worried about the boom in the U.S. stock market.”

#2 The total amount of margin debt has risen by 50 percent since January 2012 and it is now at the highest level ever recorded.  The last two times that margin debt skyrocketed like this were just before the bursting of the dotcom bubble in 2000 and just before the financial crisis of 2008.  When this house of cards comes crashing down, things are going to get very messy

My Response to John McCain’s Solicitation for a Campaign Contribution

Mr. McCain,
I hold you responsible for the collapse of the country. I know that you are not alone in the destruction of the Great Experiment.
I will only contribute money to a candidate who shows a proven method to resolve our fiscal crisis. We both know that is not possible. Thanks to “politicians” like yourself.
You are a disgrace to what is left of this country
Not sincerely,
David DeGerolamo

Subject: We Must Act Now

David,Like you, I am deeply concerned about the direction our country is heading.

Barack Obama, Harry Reid and Washington Liberals have taken us down a dark and dangerous path defined by record levels of debt, ever-expanding government, and a lead-from-behind defense strategy. There’s not much time left to turn things around.

Principled leadership is desperately needed to redirect our nation’s course and ensure a better tomorrow for our children and grandchildren.

But this change will not happen if the Republican Party doesn’t have the funds needed right now to execute their strategy to elect Republicans in every city, district and state.

It Seems that We Are Condemned

Progress, far from consisting in change, depends on retentiveness. When change is absolute there remains no being to improve and no direction is set for possible improvement: and when experience is not retained, as among savages, infancy is perpetual. Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.

George Santayana
The Life of Reason

Most people recite quotes without putting them in their proper context. The above quote is more appropriate to us when the context is added. Another example is Benjamin Franklin’s quote on security. Our “leaders” are playing a Ponzi scheme with our personal assets. Is it greed, incompetence and redistribution. I could argue those reasons and even some additional ones but the end result is the same. How do I know? Because it is always the same.

When will it stop? We all know the answer to this question. We just do not want to face the consequences of our inaction: physical and economically on a personal level.

The article below offers a fascinating history lesson that answers the question of not what is in your pocket, but who is in your pocket.

Revolutionary France’s Road to Hyperinflation

The hyperinflation of 1790s France illustrates one way in which inflationary monetary policy becomes unmanageable in an environment of economic stagnation and debt, and in the face of special interests who benefit from, and demand, easy money.

France had learned how easy it is to issue paper money and nearly impossible to keep it in check. Thus, the debate over the first issuance of the paper money, known as assignats, in April 1790 was heated, and only passed because the new currency (paying 3 percent interest to the holder) was collateralized by the land stolen from the church and fugitive aristocracy. This land constituted almost a third of France and was located in the best places.

The Statistical Delusion of black mob violence

By Colin Flaherty

The deniers of black mob violence have a new mantra: “Colin, show us the numbers.” Otherwise, all this talk about the Knockout Game and an epidemic of black on white violence is a myth. An urban legend.

Really? Alright, you asked for it.

I wrote White Girl Bleed a Lot: The Return of Racial Violence to America and How the Media Ignore It for these exact people. The deniers. I did not really put a lot of numbers in White Girl because I figured: What was the point?

First off, the numbers on racial crime and violence are just as horrific as you can imagine. Pick a number between between 5 and 100. That is how many times greater black crime and violence is compared to white and Asian.

The only people who do not know that are ones who don’t want to know it.

From YouTube:

We’re excited to share Prime Air – something the team has been working on in our next generation R&D lab. The goal of this new delivery system is to get packages into customers’ hands in 30 minutes or less using unmanned aerial vehicles. Putting Prime Air into commercial use will take some number of years as we advance technology and wait for the necessary FAA rules and regulations. This is footage from a recent test flight. See page at http://amzn.to/PrimeAir

Pakistan’s new army chief: Nuclear ties with Saudis, US exit from Afghanistan, Riyadh’s anti-Iran drive

Changing of Pakistani chiefs of staff

Changing of Pakistani chiefs of staff

Gen. Raheel Sharif, 57, who comes from a distinguished Punjabi military family, started work as new chief of Pakistan’s armed forces chief this weekend with three formidable tasks on his plate, spin-offs from fast-moving events involving the United States, Iran and Israel. He will have to adapt his military policy to next year’s US military evacuation from neighboring Afghanistan leaving a dangerous void.

Pakistan has been inextricably bound up in the 12-year US-led war in Afghanistan against al Qaeda and its ally Taliban, both of which used Pakistan’s lawless tribal territories as rear bases for their war on coalition forces.

The Obama administration is trying at all costs to prevent the Taliban from seizing the government in Kabul after President Hamid Karzai’s retirement. Its strategy, so far without much luck, is to enlist Iran to help in this objective which, however, is diametrically opposed to that of Pakistan Prime minister Nawaz Sharif.

Sharif is anxious to be rid of Taliban, whose expanding terrorist operations are threatening his government’s stability, and wants to push them over into Afghanistan. In particular, he would like to clear them out of the northern and western border districts, where Al Qaeda leader Ayman Zawahiri has set up his central command. To achieve this goal, the Pakistani government must reach terms with Taliban leaders for their cooperation.

The new armed forces’ chief’s second mission is to complete the transfer to Saudi Arabia of the nuclear weapons plus ballistic missiles Riyadh purchased and which Pakistan held in reserve under a secret defense pact the two governments signed in 2004.

This transfer may have already started.

UK Royal Mint Working On Plans To Issue Gold-Backed Physical Bitcoins

The implicit, and ever more explicit, institutional acceptance of the dominant cryptocurrency Bitcoin (we say dominant because as we pointed out last week, there has been anunprecedented spike of digital currencies one can pick and choose from) continues when following the surge in vendors willing to transact in BTC over Thanksgiving, the latest news comes from the birthplace of the modern central bank, the UK, where we learn that none other than the UK Royal Mint has been working on plans since this summer to issue physical Bitcoins in collaboration with the Channel Island of Alderney.

But where the story gets downright surreal is that as the FT reports, the same symbolic Bitcoin token issued by the Royal Mint “would have a gold content – a figure of £500-worth has been proposed – so that holders could conceivably melt and sell the metal if the exchange value of the currency were to collapse.” In brief: a perfect, and utterly incomprehensible, fusion of (opposing) hard, soft and digital currencies all rolled into one…

From the FT:

The tiny Channel Island of Alderney is launching an audacious bid to become the first jurisdiction to mint physical Bitcoins, amid a global race to capitalise on the booming virtual currency.

The three-mile long British crown dependency has been working on plans to issue physical Bitcoins in partnership with the UK’s Royal Mint since the summer, according to documents seen by the Financial Times.

It wants to launch itself as the first international centre for Bitcoin transactions by setting up a cluster of services that are compliant with anti-money laundering rules, including exchanges, payment services and a Bitcoin storage vault.

So, convert a digital currency into fiat, issue plastic (or some other material) tokens (appropriately covered in some goldish color) representing “value” because suddenly the currency (supposedly) has the blessing of central banks, and then store them in some basement? Brilliant.

Just how is the UK Royal Mint involved?
