Waiting around for the Revolution 2.0 to begin?

Jefferson

Look at what’s been uncovered lately:

Morally and financially bankrupt western governments have resorted to direct confiscation of people’s bank accounts. They have used their tax services to bully political opposition groups. They have used their intelligence services to surveil their own citizens and press.

They have completely destroyed any vestiges of the free market. They have insidiously pillaged people’s savings through inflation. They have indebted future generations who will not be born for decades. They have manipulated the price of money, thus creating massive distortions and bubbles across ALL financial markets.

The list of egregious offenses by these governments reads like a modern day version of the Declaration of Independence, in which Thomas Jefferson so eloquently lists the British King’s “long train of abuses”, including:

  • He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harrass our people, and eat out their substance.
  • He has obstructed the Administration of Justice
  • He is at this time transporting large Armies of foreign Mercenaries to compleat the works of death, desolation and tyranny
  • For taking away our Charters, abolishing our most valuable Laws, and altering fundamentally the Forms of our Governments

Prism, Terrorism, $80 Billion a Year and An Explanation by A Muslim

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U6QXI0nI6E0

From YouTube:

Here is shocking video of White House Adviser on Homeland Security and Counterterrorism John Brennan making a speech where he declared that the United States is not engaged in a “War on Terrorism”, and that the USA is not in a “Global War” against “Jihadists.” The speech reveals Obama’s thinking on Foreign Policy and that he does not grasp the struggle America is engaged in.

Majority Of Americans Don’t Mind Being Spied Upon, Pew Study Finds

In what is likely the most disappointing, if not unexpected, news of the day, we find that according to a just released Pew Research study, a substantial majority, or 56% of Americans, “say the National Security Agency’s (NSA) program tracking the telephone records of millions of Americans is an acceptable way for the government to investigate terrorism.”Only 41% object to having every phone conversation intercepted, investigated, analyzed, and recorded for posterity. Sorry Edward Snowdenyou just threw your life away for nothingThe sheep have been properly and thoroughly conditioned and brainwashed, which is why they continue to get precisely the government they so rightfully deserve.

Currently 62% say it is more important for the federal government to investigate possible terrorist threats, even if that intrudes on personal privacy. Just 34% say it is more important for the government not to intrude on personal privacy, even if that limits its ability to investigate possible terrorist threats.

These opinions have changed little since an ABC News/Washington Post survey in January 2006. Currently, there are only modest partisan differences in these opinions: 69% of Democrats say it is more important for the government to investigate terrorist threats, even at the expense of personal privacy, as do 62% of Republicans and 59% of independents.

Ron Paul: It’s Going to Get Much, Much Worse

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BZh5i60KhMs#t=1s

What if the Fed could not buy government debt? What a different world it would be. Everybody said this would be a disastrous to the economy but what if people accommodated with this?

What if there was a dependency on saving? What if we did have a market rate of interest? And what if that resulted in less bubbles? All of a sudden the world would be a different place.

But no…The only thing they can even do is spend more and more money. That is the only tool they have.

So, for that reason, I am not shocked at the numbers. I guess I am more surprised that the whole thing holds together so long. Because when you look at this, and you look at the foreign debt, and the national debt it is so outrageous, and there is still confidence in the dollar, the world – they do not have a good currency, so the best they can come up with is the dollar, but even the dollar is less popular than it used to be. It is being held a lot less now as reserve currency, but we can still buy oil, and we can still buy our stuff from China, and they take our currency.

But what amazes me is that it holds together. So I think monetizing debt and spending and deficit is going to get much, much worse until the world rejects the dollar. And there will be a rejection here at home, and prices will soar, and eventually interest rates will break loose and they will start rising.

JIM WILLIE: NEXT SCANDAL TO BREAK IS LEASING & THEFT OF 20,000 TONS OF ALLOCATED GOLD!

empty vault

The Gold manipulation will continue until the Gold market is totally broken, until the big banks that control it are totally broken, or until the USDollar & USTBond structures are totally broken.  Personally, I am encouraged by the mid-April events to crash the Gold price. It has resulted in exposure of the criminal element, in exposure of the COMEX & LBMA as being desperately low in Gold inventory, in exposure of the great difference between paper Gold price (futures contracts) and physical Gold price (actual high volume sales), and in tremendous motivation by the very wealthy to reclaim their Gold in Allocated Gold Accounts. The bankers have brought to the table a Prima Facie case that their corrupt Gold market attack was motivated by having no Gold for contract delivery.

The Jackass forecast is for the next great scandal to be centered upon the Allocated Gold Account thefts, which my excellent source informs me involves the improper usage, leasing, and theft of over 20,000 metric tons of Gold bullionThe German Government formal request for repatriation is the tip of the iceberg.  It is a contest, a race, between the breakdown of the USD/USTBond structure and the COMEX & LMBA Gold market structure. The former is in the process of being rejected by the Eastern nations, now organized. The latter is in the process of being recognized as an empty arena with no Gold in inventory.

Karzai: US Must ‘Explain’ to Muslims Why Radicalism Is Growing Amid War on Terror

KarzaiAfghan President Hamid Karzai is asking whether an increase in radicalism across an Islamic world “in turmoil” is the result of the U.S.-led campaign against terror. In a speech on Sunday, he said the U.S. “needs to explain itself” to Muslims.

In a series of veiled criticisms posed in the form of questions, Karzai in an address to the U.S.-Islamic World Forum in Doha, Qatar put the onus on the West to clarify its intentions in its dealings with the Islamic world.

After summarizing progress made in Afghanistan since the toppling of the Taliban – for which he said the Afghan people were grateful to the U.S. and other allies – Karzai said that was only “one side of the story.” The other side, he said, had to do with “the war on terror as it began in 2001 and as it moved forward until today.”

“By waging this war on terrorism, have we brought less radicalism in the Muslim world, or have we caused more radicalism in the Muslim world?” he asked. “The argument is definitely that the Muslim world has seen more radicalism – from Pakistan to Afghanistan, all the way to Mali and Nigeria.”

Charles Gave Warns: “Should The Fed Lose Control, The Downside Move In Markets May Be Terrifying”

Charles Gave of GaveKal has a fascinating summary of where the nearly five-year long experiment in central-planning has taken the US, and by implication, global economy. To wit:

What kind of failure?

By propping up asset markets, the Fed has created an illusion that wealth is being created. The next step, according to Bernanke’s plan,  should be for growth to follow. In fact, there is no reason why the rise in prices of financial assets should lead to actual investments or a rise in the median income. So far, it has not. There has been no real increase in the private sector propensity to borrow, and the danger may be that any further public sector borrowing will hasten the decline because of our “permanent asset hypothesis”.

This means that, should the Fed lose control of asset prices (is this what is now happening in Japan?), then the game will be up and the downside move in markets may well be terrifying. Most at risk would be low and medium quality credits, banks, commodity producers, and any companies with negative cash-flow.

It is obvious, then, that if Bernanke’s experiment fails, it will be a profoundly deflationary failure. The best hedges in a deflation and in financial panic are US long bonds and the US dollar. Renminbi bonds seem also to be developing safe-harbor status. In fact, we found it interesting how, in May, every bond market around the world sold-off, except for the RMB bond market.

We agree completely with Gave on his proposed “permanent asset hypothesis” (as explained further below) which is a simple derivation of what happens in a world in which the Keynesian multiplier is now negative. It is what we have been saying for over a year, namely that in an environment of permanent low interest rates there is no impetus on behalf of the private sector to spend for growth, either in the form of capital spending or the hiring of incremental workers. The only net money exchange is the issuance of debt to fund dividends and stock buybacks: or simple EPS-boosting balance sheet arbitrage as shown most recently here.

Moscow sets up Russian Golan brigade, warns Israel Sunnis plus al Qaeda are bigger threat than Assad

Russian MI-24 helicopters designated for Golan

Russian MI-24 helicopters designated for Golan

Moscow is not ready to give up on getting Russian troops posted on the divided Golan as part of the UN force policing the Israeli-Syrian separation sector, even after rejections by the UN and Israel. Monday, June 10, the Russian lawmaker Aleksey Pushkov, an influential foreign relations policy adviser to the Kremlin, said: “The issue has not been yet solved, it is being considered. We must take some real action because we cannot exclude that the Syrian-Israeli topic would be involved in large-scale military action.”

Shortly before he spoke, the military announced in Moscow that the Russian Airborne Troops had formed a separate brigade especially designed to serve as peacekeepers “under the aegis of the United Nations or as part of the force set up by the Russian-led CSTO (Russian-Asian) security bloc for combating terrorism. Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan contribute special units.

Vladimir Shamanov, commander of Russian Airborne troops, said the new brigade had been awarded the status of “a peacekeeping unit” on June 1. He did not say by whom. DEBKAfile’s military sources disclose the Moscow proposes to give the “peacekeeping” brigade from the Russian Airborne Troops “teeth” in the form of of MI-24 combat helicopters.

The idea of placing Russian peacekeepers on the Golan was first voiced by President Vladimir Putin on June 7, after Austria decided to withdraw its 377-strong contingent from the area over an outbreak of fighting there between Syrian troops and rebels.

‘Impeach Obama’ protest causes giant Southern California traffic jam

Calling for an end to the Obama presidency.

A TEA Party sponsored “Impeach Obama” demonstration on a major Southern California freeway overpass caused traffic to backup at least ten miles, as the organizer apologized for “any small inconvenience” drivers may have dealt with, as reported by the San Diego-based local news portal the Carlsbad Patch on June 9, 2013.

Flying a number of American flag as well as the TEA (Taxed Enough Already) Party-adopted Gadsen flag, protesters flashed to motorists on the Interstate 5 southbound lanes in Carlsbad, California placards stating “Remember Benghazi,” “Obama Lies” and “Amnesty Hell No!”

Organizers estimated between 25,000 and 30,000 vehicles would drive under the Tamarack Rd. overpass where the protesters set up shop.

By 12:15, the notoriously slow California freeway traffic had become a slow flowing parking lot from the protest site all the way back to the main gate of the sprawling Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Base, ten miles distant.

No Wonder We Have An Ammunition Shortage

Afghan National Army / AP

The U.S. government has given the embattled Afghan National Army (ANA) more than $1 billion in taxpayer-funded ammunition, according to the Special Investigator for Afghanistan Reconstruction’s (SIGAR) latest oversight report.

This is in addition to $288 million that has been spent on ammunition for the troubled Afghan National Police (ANP), which has been cited by SIGAR for its widespread corruption.

The United States has spent more than $54 billion in total to arm, train, and sustain Afghanistan’s security forces, which continue to underperform and suffer low enlistment rates, according to SIGAR’s quarterly progress reports.

It is unclear just how much ammunition the $1.03 billion translates to and just how much of this ammo has been used.

In addition to the billion-dollar ammo purchase, the United States has spent more than $878 million on weapons for the ANA and another $5.6 billion on military vehicles.

Hero or Traitor?

See additional comments on Tea Party Nation.

Rep. Peter King has labeled Edward Snowden a danger to the national security of the United States. The release to the public concerning Prism has become another means to divide our country. Should the release of illegal spying on the people by the NSA and federal government be made public? This is a question that should never have to be asked.

Do we know all of this story? Probably not. But here is my opinion. If Edward Snowden released this information to stop tyranny, he is a hero. With the scope of this project and its cost, we also have to ask why no one else came out earlier?

Does this sound like a hero or a traitor?

He has had “a very comfortable life” that included a salary of roughly $200,000, a girlfriend with whom he shared a home in Hawaii, a stable career, and a family he loves. “I’m willing to sacrifice all of that because I can’t in good conscience allow the US government to destroy privacy, internet freedom and basic liberties for people around the world with this massive surveillance machine they’re secretly building.”

Whatever your thoughts on this matter are, there can be no discussion on the tyranny that is rampant in the Federal government. To have a sitting Republican representative declare Mr. Snowden a danger to the national security for exposing this abuse of power is incredible to me. When will there be an investigation into perjury during Congressional hearings and the penalties for abusing the public trust? And why doesn’t Congress give Mr. Snowden immunity from prosecution for testifying in a closed session of Congress? Or is Congress too complicit in this national disgrace?

$80 billion annually to spy on the people? Why are we not in the streets? Are we too afraid that is the goal of this government to seize power?

Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives every thing its value. Heaven knows how to put a proper price upon its goods; and it would be strange indeed if so celestial an article as FREEDOM should not be highly rated.

Edward Snowden: saving us from the United Stasi of America

Snowden’s whistleblowing gives us a chance to roll back what is tantamount to an ‘executive coup’ against the US constitution.

In my estimation, there has not been in American history a more important leak than Edward Snowden’s release of NSA material – and that definitely includes the Pentagon Papers 40 years ago. Snowden’s whistleblowing gives us the possibility to roll back a key part of what has amounted to an “executive coup” against the US constitution.

Since 9/11, there has been, at first secretly but increasingly openly, a revocation of the bill of rights for which this country fought over 200 years ago. In particular, the fourth and fifth amendments of the US constitution, which safeguard citizens from unwarranted intrusion by the government into their private lives, have been virtually suspended.

The government claims it has a court warrant under Fisa – but that unconstitutionally sweeping warrant is from a secret court, shielded from effective oversight, almost totally deferential to executive requests. As Russell Tice, a former National Security Agency analyst, put it: “It is a kangaroo court with a rubber stamp.”

For the president then to say that there is judicial oversight is nonsense – as is the alleged oversight function of the intelligence committees in Congress. Not for the first time – as with issues of torture, kidnapping, detention, assassination by drones and death squads –they have shown themselves to be thoroughly co-opted by the agencies they supposedly monitor. They are also black holes for information that the public needs to know.

Islamists ‘staking claim’ with Maryland ‘cultural center’

TurkishMosque

On his visit to a new Turkish-funded mosque in Lanham, Md., Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayip Erodogan said his government chose the site because of its location in “free territory.”

He said when he attended the groundbreaking of the 15-acre, $100 million mega-mosque  that the Turkish-American Cultural Center likely will become “the largest and most striking examples of Islamic architecture in the Western hemisphere when finished in 2014.”

But those seemingly innocuous words are alarming to a number of analysts, including former Palestinian operative Walid Shoebat, who says the West doesn’t realize the significance of what Erdogan was saying.

Shoebat said Erdogan’s true mission is to claim the land for Islam, and the evidence is in his words.

“The mosques are our barracks, the domes our helmets, the minarets our bayonets and the faithful our soldiers,” Shoebat said, quoting Erdogan.

“The West is unaware that in Islam, a mosque is an embassy and Turkey is acting stealthily, which is why the project is not arousing much alarm,” Shoebat said.
