Plant has not produced a single battery designed by lab where Obama spoke Friday, IG reports

President Barack Obama touted a plan to step up green energy subsidies on Friday at an Energy Department laboratory that critics say is emblematic of the government’s failure to succeed with taxpayer-funded green energy projects.

The University of Chicago-based lab where Obama spoke has partnered with a company to develop batteries for electric vehicles. However, the stimulus-funded manufacturing facility that was supposed to produce the batteries—themselves the product of stimulus subsidies for research and development—has yet to furnish a single one.

The president’s green energy proposal calls for using revenues from oil and gas lease sales to fund an additional $2 billion in subsidies for green energy projects.

Obama outlined the plan in more detail at a speech Friday afternoon at DOE’s Argonne National Laboratory at the University of Chicago, which received more than $200 million in stimulus subsidies and contracts for electric vehicle research, among other projects.

The nomination of Tom Perez to lead the Labor Department is a reward by Obama for supporting the administration’s two tiered justice system.

From FoxNews in 2010:

J. Christian Adams, now an attorney in Virginia and a blogger for Pajamas Media, told Fox News in an exclusive interview that aired Wednesday that Assistant Attorney General Thomas Perez provided false testimony in May to the United States Commission on Civil Rights, which is investigating the department’s decision to drop charges against three members of the radical group in a case that the government won.

How will the Senate react to this nomination? Get ready for another capitulation.

Obama to nominate embattled Tom Perez for Labor secretary

President Obama on Monday will nominate Tom Perez to be the next Labor Department secretary, a White House official confirmed late Sunday — setting up yet another contentious confirmation battle in the Senate.

Mr. Obama’s pick comes less than a week after a scathing audit of the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division, which Mr. Perez runs as an assistant attorney general. The department’s inspector general said the Civil Rights division had become riven with factions, and questioned whether Mr. Perez was completely truthful in information he gave about the decision to dismiss a high-profile voter intimidation case involving the New Black Panther Party in Philadelphia.

‘Last American Man’ is facing a government shutdown of his camp

A man who has dedicated nearly 30 years to building and living off of his 500-acre farm is facing having his entire way of life shut down by the state government.

Eustace Conway, 51, who has been called ‘The Last Great American Man’ for his rustic way of living, could lose his camp in the Appalachian Mountains, his home for the past three decades.

The Watauga County Planning Department in North Carolina has found several health and sanitary violations in his encampment and has threatened to condemn the buildings.

Conway, who was given the title of the ‘last great American man’ by ‘Eat, Pray, Love’ author Elizabeth Gilbert in her 2002 biography, is fighting the department over their violations.

According to the Wall Street Journal, several officials showed up to his Turtle Island Preserve home and found that his outhouses, kitchens, and even the wood he’s used to build several structures across the properties aren’t up to snuff.

Confluence of actions by Obama administration may prompt flood of illegal immigrants

The recent release of illegal immigrants in detention, the Obama administration’s renewed push for amnesty, and the planned furlough of thousands of border patrol agents will result in more illegal crossings, immigration experts and border officials say.

“It’s the perfect storm,” said Stuart Harris, the vice president of Local 1929 of the National Border Patrol Council in El Paso, Texas.

The planned furloughs of border patrol guards and the push for immigration reform has now given illegal immigrants the perfect opportunity to come across the border, he said.

“Now’s the time to do it,” Harris said.

Jessica Vaughan, director of policy studies at the nonpartisan Center for Immigration Studies, agreed.

“It’s a giant catch and release program,” she said. “Why go through the expense of applying for a visa, when you can get turned down?”

Instead, said Vaughan, if you come here illegally, “you’ll get processed and get released and the worst that will happen to you is you will be turned back to Mexico.”

Cyprus Bank Holiday Extended to Thursday

The Cypriot bank holiday has been extended from Monday to Tuesday to Thursday. The people are out in the streets and every nation is denying responsibility for the “terms” of the bailout which was the confiscation of private property.

Ireland is the Next Cyprus

This isn’t a long post, just a brief set-sum analogy to make you think.  Ireland, Bermuda, and the Cayman Islands are the British/US analogues of Cyprus in relation to wealthy Russian investors – off-shore “tax havens”.

grabbing-handI have picked Ireland as the next spot for such a bank Levy on account-holder “wealth” because the Irish government is in a long-standing Revenue/Spending crunch at least as bad as Cyprus is.

True, the other PIIGS are just as financially troubled, but they don’t have the same [favorable] ratio of foreign-owned monies sitting on deposit, to be freely levied, as Ireland does.

Don’t take your eye off of this ball – the next pitch may well determine the whole game…

Your Course of Action Should Be Determined by Common Sense

I disagree with the premise below “that the authorities would rather you withdrew it, and injected it into the economy, in a desperate attempt to raise the velocity of money”. If that was the case, they could declare a bank holiday and get the same effect. Taxing bank accounts in the middle of the night or offering negative interest rates has the same end result: the banks get your money. If the premise below was true, that would mean any money withdrawn from a bank would automatically be spent to continue to drive a consumer economy away from the inevitable economic collapse.

But this is only common sense. You only have to ask yourself what benefits you have by keeping your wealth in accounts outside of your control.

Ensure that restaurant carry survives!

This critical pro-feedom legislation will solve two significant problems facing North Carolina gun owners: (1) Not being able to defend ourselves and our families in restaurants that serve alcohol, and (2) Being subject to the release of personal information by hostile media, as was done previously in both NC and NY.

HB-17 is currently residing within House Judiciary Subcommittee A. It is scheduled to be heard this Wednesday. Rumors suggest there are efforts to strip out restaurant carry provisions. We must MAKE SURE this DOES NOT HAPPEN!

IMMEDIATE ACTION REQUIRED!

  • Quickly Email Republican Members of Judiciary Committee A.Tell them to oppose all efforts to weaken the bill by eliminating the restaurant carry provisions. 

  • Plan to Attend the Judiciary Meeting. Show your Representatives in person that you strongly support restaurant carry and that you strongly oppose the release of personal information about concealed carry permit holders!

The fight has officially been brought to my front door

Last night I was out with a buddy of mine. I got a text from my wife that the cops and dyfs (Division of Youth and Family Services) are at the house and they wanna check out my guns and needed me to open my safe.

I’m instantly on my way. I get in contact with Evan Nappen on the way. I explain the situation. I walk in my house and hand the phone to the first cop I see. Then direct all of em outside. Dyfs got a call because of a pic on my son holding a gun. They wanted to look around and check all my guns out, make sure they were all registered. Obviously that didn’t go well because I refused. I had Nappen on speaker phone the entire time so they had to deal with both of us. They kept trying to pressure me to open my safe. They had no warrant, no charges, nothing. I didn’t budge. I was told I was being “unreasonable” and that I was acting suspicious because I wouldn’t open my safe. Told me they were gonna get a search warrant. Told em go ahead. Nappen (my lawyer) asked me for the dyfs workers name. she wouldn’t give it. i asked for credentials and she wouldn’t show em. i tried to take a pic of her and she turned around real fast and walked away. After a while of them threatening to take my kids, get warrants and intimidation they left. Empty handed and seeing nothing.

People it can happen that fast. Most people wouldn’t have stood up to them like I did.

Tomorrow might be a good day to take off and do a last minute check of your preps.  The critical moment has been achieved in Cyprus, and the PIGS aren’t far behind.  I have been saying for over 2 years that a default in the EU would reach the US in as little as 2 business days… and that clock may well be ticking at this very moment.

An old public service announcement from the 80’s comes to mind – it could be updated as “It’s 10pm, do you know where your money is?”
