Obama: TSA Trumps the Constitution

The Obama administration has released a statement supporting the actions of the Transportation Security Administration today regarding the detainment of Senator Rand Paul in Nashville, TN. Article I, Section 6 of the United States Constitution is clear on   detaining any Senator or Representative “in going to and returning from” Congressional sessions.

The Senators and Representatives shall receive a Compensation for their Services, to be ascertained by Law, and paid out of the Treasury of the United States. They shall in all Cases, except Treason, Felony and Breach of the Peace, be privileged from Arrest during their Attendance at the Session of their respective Houses, and in going to and returning from the same; and for any Speech or Debate in either House, they shall not be questioned in any other Place. No Senator or Representative shall, during the Time for which he was elected, be appointed to any civil Office under the Authority of the United States, which shall have been created, or the Emoluments whereof shall have been encreased during such time; and no Person holding any Office under the United States, shall be a Member of either House during his Continuance in Office.

Could Senate Republicans have prevented the murder of Danielle Watson? Danielle was a manager at the Flying Biscuit Café. Last weekend, while closing the restaurant, she was murdered by an ex-con recently released after doing time for armed robbery.

In a classic application of “Dial 911 & Die!” Charlotte police botched their response to her fiancés 911 call, and never even discovered her body, stabbed and left behind a dumpster, until the next day. It was the second Charlotte restaurant murder in a single weekend, highlighting the need to pass House Bill 111, “Handgun Permit Valid in Parks & Restaurants.”

South Korea Warns US Against Crude Shortage

Kim Jae-shin, [South Korea’s] deputy minister of foreign affairs and trade, underscored that point with US officials, a news pool report said.

“Many in South Korea are quite worried that further strengthening sanctions in Iran at this time will destabilize international crude oil markets and bring about adverse effects on the economy,” the report quoted him as telling the officials.

A team led by the US State Department’s special adviser for nonproliferation and arms control, Robert Einhorn, and the Treasury Department’s assistant secretary for terrorist financing, Daniel Glaser, started a three-day visit to Seoul on Monday. They will head to Japan afterwards. “We’re urging all of our partners to help us to work with us in putting pressure on the government of Iran to get it to negotiate seriously.

“Particularly, we’re urging them to reduce their purchases of crude oil from Iran,” Einhorn told a meeting with government officials, the news pool report said. Tehran has been under a growing array of UN and unilateral sanctions for years, but a US bill that President Barack Obama signed into law on New Year’s Eve went further than previous measures, aiming to stop countries paying for Iranian oil.

How Much Longer Will the Dollar Be the World’s Reserve Currency?

Bank holiday was considered by Obama in 2009

The following articles show a progression since late 2010 of countries abandoning the dollar (USD) as the world’s reserve currency. There are multiple reasons why the average American should be concerned:

1. When (not if) the dollar loses its reserve currency status, the Federal Reserve will no longer be able to make the Treasury print dollars backed by the full faith and credit of the United States. Without the ability to finance our nation’s debt, the dollar will be devalued (become worthless overnight) and the consequences will devastate your life’s savings and assets.

2. The American economy will collapse. Businesses will not be able to finance growth or payrolls at a reasonable interest rate or more likely, will not be able to qualify for a loan of inflated dollars. International trade will also collapse. Energy costs will “necessarily skyrocket”. No gas or diesel for transportation of goods, travel to work or energy to heat your home.  Continue reading →

West Virginia: Gun Rationing Bill Proposed in the Mountain State

During the opening week of West Virginia’s 2012 legislative session, Delegate John Doyle (D-57) introduced House Bill 2229, legislation which would limit the number of handguns that law-abiding individuals would be able purchase in West Virginia. This “gun rationing” bill has been sent to the state House Judiciary Committee for further consideration.

HB 2229 would criminalize the attempted purchase of more than two handguns from a federally licensed firearms dealer in any thirty day period, even by law-abiding citizens who are legally allowed to buy guns and clear a background check administered by the FBI’s National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS).  Violators would be subject to a $200 fine and up to ten days in jail.

HB 2229 is a violation of our Second Amendment rights and must be defeated. Accordingly, please contact members of the House Judiciary Committee and respectfully voice your opposition to HB 2229. Contact information for committee members can be found here.

CNNMoney: Anonymous Is Not A Threat

CNNMoney.com has written an article designed to alleviate any fears of Anonymous after their cyberattacks on the “Department of Justice, the FBI, the Copyright Office, the Motion Picture Association, the Recording Industry Association, and several other music industry sites on Thursday” (January 19th, 2012). After watching a series on economic terrorism this week by Glenn Beck and Kevin Freeman, I would warn CNN not to tempt fate by marginalizing cyberwarfare.

As outlined by Mr. Freeman, cyberattacks on the stock market led to the initial Fall 2008 crash as well as a successful attack on Nasdaq. If Anonymous is not a threat based on their history and successful attacks, what would CNN consider to be one? After the cyberattacks yesterday, both PIPA and SOPA legislation have been shelved by the House and Senate respectively.

Obama’s “Brave New World” Order

Obama’s healthcare legislation will ensure that all birth control will be free starting August 1, 2012. The cost to insurance companies will be passed along as usual to taxpayers (the people who are still working to support the masses)  as part of redistribution.  This preview of the upcoming “one world order” is reminiscent of Aldous Huxley’s utopian novel “Brave New World”. In the book, women practiced mandatory birth control using the Mathusian Drill and all new babies were grown in vitro. This allowed the government to completely control the total population of the world. Where did we here this before?

SOPA and PIPA – Power Checked

SOPA and PIPA have been put on hold by both the Senate (PIPA) and the House (SOFA) today. This was another power grab by the government to control the Internet and its content (at a minimum). Conspiracy theorists aside, this was a blatant attempt to limit freedom. If the real issue of piracy had been addressed properly using existing laws, we all would have won.

Questions You Do Not Ask in a Debate

Another debate and another missed opportunity to ask questions on issues that will decide our future. We all know that the candidates agree or only have minor differences on health care, immigration and global warming. Superficial questions on economy and foreign policy at this critical time should leave America asking if our media thinks we can handle the truth. Or does the media think that they should decide what we need to know to make informed decisions?

I agree that the re-election of Obama will destroy this country. But I do not feel that this should preclude us from making an informed decision on whom the Republican nominee should be. I do not want to lose our nation’s sovereignty to a new world order. Actually, let me clear on this subject for Janet Napolitano and Eric Holder: I will not submit.

Here is a partial list of questions that I would like to see addressed by the candidates:

  1. How will you address the 100% debt to GDP ratio? What is the time frame to carry out your plan?
  2. What are your views on executive orders? Do you feel Obama is bypassing the legislative branch of the government with executive orders?
