What Makes a Terrorist? Ask Alan Krueger

President Obama has nominated Princeton University’s Alan Krueger to be chairman of the White House Council of Economic Advisers.

“As one of this country’s leading economists, Alan has been a key voice on a vast array of economic issues for more than two decades. Alan understands the difficult challenges our country faces, and I have confidence that he will help us meet those challenges as one of the leaders on my economic team.”

As our government continues to label patriots who stand up for our founding principles as terrorists, what makes a “terrorist”?  The following excerpt from a purpose driven study “What Makes a Terrorist” from Mr. Krueger gives us some insight.

What Makes a Terrorist

Despite these pronouncements, however, the available evidence is nearly unanimous in rejecting either material deprivation or inadequate educa­tion as important causes of support for terrorism or participation in terrorist activities. Such explana­tions have been embraced almost entirely on faith, not scientific evidence.

Support [for terrorism] turned out to be stronger among those with a higher level of education. For exam­ple, while 26 percent of illiterates and 18 per­cent of those with only an elementary education opposed or strongly opposed armed attacks, the figure for those with a high school education was just 12 percent. The least supportive group turned out to be the unemployed, 74 percent of whom said they support or strongly back armed attacks. By comparison, the support level for merchants and professionals was 87 percent. Continue reading →

North Carolina Citizen Arrested for Requesting an Appeal

Justice is not blind – especially when it is challenged by the truth. We have to ask what country we live in when filing an appeal is cause for arrest. Is the United States still a Republic based on the rule of law or is it based on the rule of men under Eric Holder’s idea of Justice?

Mandie Rose is standing up for the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of North Carolina. And this is not the first time. Imagine if more young mothers and fathers would just say “enough” and stand up for our children’s future.

Today NCAR citizen Mandie Rose was arrested for requesting an appeal in open district court in Forsyth County, NC. The ruling was yet another side stepping by the lower district courts in NC to avoid the real issue and question at hand: is the current state of North Carolina a lawfully created state? Mandie was respectful, polite, and professional throughout the whole ordeal, and after appealing the ruling, she was placed under arrest, and is being held under a $1,000.00 secured appeal bond.

What Is Really Happening in Syria?

What is the state of civil unrest in Syria?President Assad has been brutal in his efforts to suppress any opposition to his regime but has the Arab Spring actually taken hold in Syria? The following except from Foxnews outlines the standard fare that has been reported for months:

 

Syrian Security Forces Surround Central Town

Syrian security forces pursuing anti-government  protesters have surrounded a central town that has become a hotbed of dissent  against President Bashar Assad’s regime, sending residents fleeing, activists  said Monday.

The prime minister of Turkey, a former close ally,  warned Assad that his regime could face a demise like those in Tunisia, Egypt  and Libya if the violent suppression of protests does not stop.

Syria has come under blistering international  condemnation for its deadly crackdown on anti-government protests that began in  March, and U.S. and European leaders have demanded Assad step down.

Although the following account happened in Canada, we have cases in Michigan where Muslims publicly assert their rights and laws over our laws. If the government and police will not enforce our laws, what is our recourse in a true Republic?

Eric Holder has defiantly championed his version of the Department of Justice over the rights of the voters in Philadelphia and the federal immigration laws in Arizona. President Obama has stopped all deportations of illegal aliens in a blatant usurpation of power. The Supreme Court has become a bit player in what now passes for our representative Republic. As the shadow of serfdom looms over our heads, only we can stand up for freedom.

Common Sense for 47% of the United States

Is the Fourth Reich About to Fall?

Germany now controls the European Union. For the past two months, Germany and France have been holding meetings to determine the details for the fiscal stability of the EU. Once France’s banking exposure became public knowledge, their credit rating was reduced along with their role in dictating terms for the EU’s future. All decisions were then in the control of the German government.

The news concerning Germany’s economic stagnation has put the entire future of the European Union in doubt. If the rumors concerning a downgrade of Germany’s credit rating are true, “contagion” will consume Europe.

The impact is being felt in our markets today and we can expect the World Bank to step in if this becomes a reality. How much will our current administration be willing to bailout Europe through the World Bank and the IMF? Or should we ask Mr. Bernanke this question when he testifies in front of Congress?

Don’t Let Freedom Slip Away

In 1938, Adolf Hitler was chosen as Time Magazine’s man of the year.

The following first person account of life under Hitler’s Fascism in Austria was first published in 2009. If people knew history, we would not be doomed to repeat it. What we also must understand is that people do not want to handle the truth in order to avoid the consequences necessary to fight for freedom. Appeasement was the solution to the threat posed by the Axis powers leading up to World War II. Propaganda is a useful tool when people are afraid.

The following excepts from the Daily Kos is a poorly crafted rebuttal of Mrs. Werthmann’s account.

What I can tell my friend Bill, and Kitty, were she ever to read this, is that she misses the essential quality of Hitler, that his quest for power was built on hatred— of Jews, victors of WWI, Slavs, and all of those whom he saw as inferior.  He happened to have emerged at a moment of great distress of the Germanic people.  He was enough of an intuitive master of the art of politics to marshal this suffering to his own ends.

Hitler’s job was made easier by the degree of hatred, the vicious murderous state of the Kulturkamph, a permutation of our own culture war that currently is on low simmer.  Ms. Werthmann equating Obama to Hitler, does a disservice the her adopted country, and threatens this country that I believe she loves.  She makes the possibility of her fears someday coming true that much more probable.
