This is the first of a series of articles based on the speeches given at the General Assembly Rally at the General Assembly on July 13th, 2011 supporting Governor Perdue’s veto of H351 – Voter ID. Shaunee Morgan of Democracy North Carolina was the moderator for this event. I will admit that she did very well presenting her views without constantly referring to her notes.

However, ignorance well presented is still ignorance. As I filmed this event, I had no doubt that a majority of the attendees had not read H351 since a majority of the speakers and signs referred to driver’s licenses as the only valid identification to be allowed to vote. Continue reading
What does common sense tell the American public concering the debt ceiling?
As president Obama is in the midst of bitter partisan negotiations to raise the government’s debt ceiling yet again, the country is waiting to see what the August 2nd deadline will bring. If the crisis is not resolved by the end of next week, the consequences will be severe according to Tim Geithner. On August 3rd, 70 million government checks may not be sent out to Americans. Since our legal population is just under 312 million, it is possible that 22.4% of the people living off the government will find reality staring them in the face on this date.
I am sure that there are other events scheduled across the state on Saturday for a Day of Action. The information below is for Raleigh’s event. I keep waiting for Americans to stand up with me: what will it take?
Three months after the state of Texas was ravaged by wildfires, the president has allowed FEMA to provide federal disaster assistance. Better late than never would be appropriate except this is a blatant political payback by the Obama administration. When the people realize that we are being separated into categories based on ideology and political parties, we will understand that the Divided States of America will not continue without real change based on the liberty guaranteed to us by the Constitution.
