A recent shooting at the Hickory, North Carolina, residence of GOP congressional candidate Pat Harrigan’s parents and young children caused no injuries but placed “tremendous stress” on the family in the final weeks of his campaign, Harrigan’s mother said Thursday.

Harrigan, a firearms manufacturer and U.S. Army Special Forces veteran, is running against Democratic state Sen. Jeff Jackson for an open U.S. House seat in North Carolina’s new 14th District based in western Charlotte. The left-leaning district emerged from a lengthy redistricting battle during which North Carolina redrew its congressional map to account for the additional seat it was awarded following the 2020 census.

The congressional candidate’s children, ages 3 and 5, were asleep in the bedroom directly above the room where the shooting occurred, Marla Harrigan said. The bullet came from a densely wooded area and did not wake the kids.

She said the two children have been living with their grandparents in Hickory, about 57 miles northwest of Charlotte, for much of the campaign cycle. They have since been relocated out of state “out of an abundance of caution after the shooting,” she said, adding that her son is urging his parents to leave town as well.

“I’m focused on fixing the economy, lowering prices and keeping our streets safe,” Harrigan said in a statement Thursday. “And it’ll take more than a bullet and death threats to knock this Green Beret off that mission.”

Last night, President Joe Biden returned to his earlier claim that his political opponents are fascists seeking to establish authoritarianism in the United States. While the hellish red background is gone from his controversial Philadelphia address, the message remains: a vote for the GOP is a vote for tyranny. Despite polls showing citizens view the President as inciting political unrest and potential violence with such attacks, the theme was quickly picked up and magnified in the media. Presidential historian Michael Beschloss actually suggested on MSNBC that we could be just days away from an authoritarian hellscape if the GOP prevails in midterm elections — raising the specter of our children being taken away and killed. 

If you thought that the election was being decided on the top polling issues of the economy, crime, and classic kitchen table issues, think again.

On MSNBC’s “All In with Chris Hayes,” Beschloss went all in on the  “democracy-or-death pitch” before the midterms:

“[S]ix nights from now, we could all be discussing violence all over this country. There’s signs that may happen, may God forbid, that losers will be declared winners by fraudulent election officers, or secretary of state candidates, or governors, or state legislatures…

We could be six days away from losing our rule of law, and losing a situation where we have elections that we all can rely on. You know, those are the foundation stones of a democracy…

Joe Biden is saying the same thing tonight, and a historian 50 years from now – if historians are allowed to write in this country and if they are still free publishing houses and a free press – which I’m not certain of – but if that is true, a historian will say what was at stake tonight and this week was the fact whether we will be a democracy in the future, whether our children will be arrested and conceivably killed.”

I didn’t watch Brandons speech last night. I did check out the highlights this morning.

Let me tell you what I got out of it –  The Fix is In! They are going to do whatever is necessary to maintain power and if you speak out against their steal you will be dealt with. Communist never give up power once they seize it, unless it is at the end of a barrel of a gun.

The US military’s growing presence in northern Australia demonstrates Washington’s desire to form a “friends circle” of bombers and stealth fighter jets around China. Towards that goal, the US is set to deploy six nuclear capable B-52 bombers to Australia.

America’s great power rivalry with China is heating up, with the Pentagon planning to station a squadron of nuclear-capable B-52 bombers in northern Australia as a “signal” to Beijing, according to the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.

“Having bombers that could range and potentially attack mainland China could be very important in sending a signal to China that any of its actions over Taiwan could also expand further,” said Becca Wasser of the Centre for New American Security.

SouthernPrepper1 sent me the above letter from BlueCross/BlueShield Arkansas stating that they will not cover injuries or diseases caused by war.

I am now wondering if they will cover diseases caused by a biological weapon like Sars-Cov2. I did searches yesterday on this story using Google and Duck Duck Go. Both came up with no results for multiple search criteria.
