The War In The Middle East

“Which war?” I hear you ask. Don’t play coy. You know very well which war. Many Gentle Readers have written me, asking for my “opinion” about it. The emails have been many and various in their approbations and condemnations, but all have urged me to state a position.

Israel is doing what it must, and here are the reasons.

A nation that possesses weapons of mass destruction and delivery systems that can wield them at long range acquires responsibilities along with those things. One of those responsibilities pertains to its rhetoric. Its rulers’ statements must be taken with full seriousness, especially their threats. Nation X must regard a threat from nation Y as equivalent to an actual attack. This was a component of American strategic doctrine for many decades.

The Imago DEI Do You Think You’re Better Than Me?

Here, I argue that equality is a pure abstraction which does not actually exist in the phenomenal world, including in the most fundamental sense of the moral or spiritual equality of man derived from the concept of the ‘Imago Dei’ or ‘the image of God’, which is the ultimate theological origin from which all subsequent notions of equality have been derived, and which I attempt to demonstrate is itself conceptually incoherent given that some humans fail to display the properties associated with the Imago Dei, while some animals do. I further argue that the popular belief in ‘equality under the law’ is also dangerously mistaken if it is taken to mean a ‘one size fits all’ law, as – given the influence of the idea of equality – this then leads to law that fails to account for the biological variety of human types, thereby contributing to societal decay. Finally, I argue that, for individuals, society, and the human species to follow an upwards developmental trajectory, an embrace of inequality is absolutely necessary.

Trump Hints At ‘Possible’ US Entry Into War Amid Stepped-Up Israeli Daytime Attacks On Tehran

After Saturday reports widely said that Israel requested direct US military assistance in attacking Iranian nuclear sites, President Trump in fresh comments to ABC News has begun to change the White House tune a little, as he now says it’s ‘possible’ the US ‘could get involved’ in the Israel-Iran conflict.

He told ABC’s Rachel Scott that “it’s possible we could get involved” – however he emphasized that the US military is “not at this moment involved” in the conflict. He pivoted to calling for peaceful resolution, saying the US would be “open” to Russian President Vladimir Putin being a mediator in. “He is ready. He called me about it. We had a long talk about it,” Trump said. Of course, he campaigned against new wars starting and said these major conflicts would not have happened if he was president.
