A group of Chinese nationals infiltrated the 2016 campaign of North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper, having been identified in a number of photographs taken at Democrat Party Headquarters on Election Day 2016. Included in the group is a Marxist political strategist and Chinese influence agent with direct ties to the Chinese Communist Party and high-level Communist Chinese think tanks.

On the webpage where the photographs were posted, a caption reads “On November 9, 2016, the main members of CAECA led NCCSEA members and visiting scholars to observe the president election at the Democratic Party headquarter in Raleigh.” Accompanying the Chinese nationals in a large group photo was a Democrat Party operative. An “NC Dems” logo is clearly visible in the background.

Pictured among the group of Chinese nationals is Zheng Zhifa, a Marxist political strategist with direct ties to the Chinese Communist Party and high-level Communist Chinese think tanks. Zhifa, who traveled to the United States from China as a member of the North Carolina Chinese Scholar Exchange Association (NCCSEA) at Duke University, had close access to North Carolina Democrats throughout his time in the United States, often through his relationship with John Wei, also pictured. On election night, Zhifa was photographed alongside Roy Cooper several times, including in a shot displaying a Chinese-language newspaper purported to be an edition of the China Press, a newspaper tied to the Chinese Communist Party that will be addressed later in this article.

GRAHAM, N.C. — Police used pepper spray on a crowd of people who paused to kneel in the street during a march to the polls in Graham.

Video shows hundreds of people kneeling in a traffic circle in front of the Alamance County historic courthouse, where a large confederate statue stands.

According to a spokesperson for the City of Graham, law enforcement used a “pepper spray-based vapor,” and only sprayed it onto the ground. Officials used the spray when the crowd stopped to kneel the traffic circle, which they had described as a “prohibited activity” to the organizer ahead of the event.

Law enforcement said that they commanded crowd to clear the roadway and move to the permitted area.

“When the crowd failed to disperse after several verbal commands, officers with the Graham Police Department utilized a crowd control measure that consisted of spraying a pepper based vapor onto the ground,” said a City of Graham spokesperson.

SEAL Team 6 rescued an American hostage in Nigeria on Saturday.

“U.S. forces conducted a hostage rescue operation during the early hours of 31 October in Northern Nigeria to recover an American citizen held hostage by a group of armed men,” said Jonathan Hoffman, chief Pentagon spokesman. “No U.S military personnel were injured during the operation.”

The now-rescued hostage has been identified as 27-year-old Philip Walton, who was abducted last week in neighboring Niger. The SEALs rescued Walton after killing several of his captors.

“We had to get him before any potential trade or sale,” one U.S. official said.
