Friend —
Yesterday was Mother’s Day, a time when we recognize and celebrate the amazing mothers in our lives. (Hi, Mom!)
It’s a pretty good time to do something real to stand up for all working parents.
The United States is the only industrialized nation in the world with no paid maternity leave, forcing too many to choose between having a family and keeping their job.
Let’s change that — add your name to join the fight to make paid leave a worker’s right in America.
More and more employers are coming to recognize that a person’s success and productivity depend so much on their ability to maintain a healthy, stable life at home and care for their families. That means guaranteed access to paid sick and family leave.
But a whopping 43 million Americans in the private sector currently don’t have access to paid sick leave.
That’s a problem that can make itself worse, too — if you’re sick, you shouldn’t be at work where you could get your coworkers sick. Parents shouldn’t be forced to send a sick child to school because they can’t afford to take the day off.
We’ve got the greatest workers in the world, and an economy that’s capable of adjusting and thriving to whatever the modern world brings.
In honor of mothers — and fathers — everywhere, join the fight for paid leave. Add your name today:
