There are brain-washed, Kook Aide drinking, Murica’ shouting (while pumping their fists in the air types) out there who haven’t thought the warnings from Russia seriously. They still think we’re back in the 80’s when we armed the Afghans with stinger missiles–thinking (and rightly so back then) that Russia would not do anything.

Times have changed people. Now Russia is possibly the preeminent nuclear power in the world–just with missiles and technology alone that surpasses what the USA possesses by a decade or more. It’s one thing to arm turd-world types in dirty nightshirts who can barely operate flush toilets with stinger missiles. And then it’s another thing altogether to supply an adversary of Russia, which lies directly on their border with long-range, high precision missiles–supplied and operated by NATO and US personnel, that can strike deep into the heart of Russia’s homeland.

Just one missile hitting inside Russia can ignite a conflagration which would assuredly reach into the heart of our nation. Are the people in power in DC completely insane? Answer: they are worse than insane, they are psychotic.

Putin is not preparing “his” army for war with the US. Russia is. It’s the Russian army. Not Putin’s army.

Can any ex infantry types here give us a hint how long it will take to call up, train and then deploy these recently called up foot soldiers? Asking for a friend.

U.S. and NATO standards are a minimum of 6 months of training for a basic infantryman to be considered minimally trained and competent. to be fully trained takes over a year.
many of the Russian POWs in Ukraine claim they have had a little as three weeks training before being sent to the front lines. additionally, these POWs seem to have been poorly equipped.
the Russian arms industry is unable to manufacture NEW tanks and equipment at a rate necessary to replace losses. instead they are pulling mothballed Soviet era tanks, armored fighting vehicals and artillery pieces out of storage, “reconditioning”, which is often a fresh coat of paint, and sending it to the front. much of these pieces are over 50 years old.
Russia has yet to solve their logistics problems, corruptions problems, and the same leaders who are running the current 2 1/2 year old “three week special military operation” in Ukraine are still running the show.
a 2 1/2 million man army with poor training, incompetent leadership, inadequet equipment, armor, artillery, and logistics is little more than a 2 1/2 million man meat wave.
