Real Patriots are Blinded by Pride

A reader’s reply to another reader’s comment concerning the assassination of Donald Trump:

“If they attempt to or actually succeed in assassinating Trump, then the real patriotic citizens of the U.S. should rise up in an open revolution.”

Is this not what they (Elites) actually want, (need)? This is what so many “drool for”. The Real patriots are blinded by Pride. Go figure. Both trains lead to error.

I disagree that “Real patriots” are blinded by Pride. Like the term “conservative”, people have different definitions of what characteristics constitutes a patriot. I would consider our original founding fathers to be patriots. They looked to divine Providence to guide their actions. They showed mercy to their “enemies” as shown by Gen. Washington to the Hessians. They understood natural laws granted by God and formed a government that was a 5000 year leap. We will never know what course this country would have taken if the original Articles of Confederation and Perpetual Union would have been amended instead of being replaced. We were warned that this course of government would require the tree of Liberty to be refreshed with the blood of patriots first and they the blood of tyrants:

The British ministry have so long hired their gazetteers to repeat and model into every form lies about our being in anarchy, that the world has at length believed them, the English nation has believed them, the ministers themselves have come to believe them, & what is more wonderful, we have believed them ourselves. yet where does this anarchy exist? where did it ever exist, except in the single instance of Massachusets? and can history produce an instance of a rebellion so honourably conducted? I understand that the Constitution is not perfect and consisted of compromises. But man is responsible for the tyranny we now face. And man is responsible for walking away from God. I see patriots grounded in their faith every single day. It is our foremost requirement. If it is not yours, who is to blame? The first step forward does not have to be without God’s help. Everyone should understand what they are fighting, what they are fighting for and for whose glory.
