Republican U.S. Representative Mike Gallagher will step down from Congress on April 19. his office said on Friday, a move that will narrow Republicans’ already razor-thin majority.
Gallagher, who chairs the House of Representatives Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party, had already said he would not be running for re-election in November. But his decision to leave Congress early means the seat will be vacant for a time before the next election.
The Republicans currently hold a 219-213 House majority. However, Republican Representative Ken Buck is due to step down on Friday.
When Gallagher steps down, that will narrow the majority further to 217-213, meaning that Speaker Mike Johnson can only afford to lose one vote in order to pass legislation if Democrats remain united in opposition.

What a weak party the GOP is turning out to be. Looks like I may be switching my allegiance very soon.
to what?
Until we make a stand…We have One and only One Party:
He decided to step down after catching hell from constituents over voting for a deep state bill. Traitor!
Are “republicans” or repugnant rinos stepping down?
Gallagher stepping down means nothing since a political solution has not and will not be an option.
Are the resignations of Republicrats a move to give the demoncrat party an official majority before the “election”?
That seems to be the plan.
Politics, the art of getting the Majority of the, they DO see People’s CONSENT and gathering more power.
Politics is actually neutral, when a Churchill is doing it, it’s “Good ” (not from the German POV), When evil people do it not so good (you could ask WW2 German people about that).
My local “leftists ” don’t think of themselves as Evil ,and they see nothing wrong with “Othering ” you and I as “Nazis ” to be defeated.
Sun Zhu said “know yourself and know your enemies and you will be victorious “.
Wow, how did that scramble so badly?
Politics the art of getting the MAJORITY of the Peoples CONSENT and gathering more power.
Even Stalin knew you needed the Voting Process and thus the Consent of the People.
His quote is famous for a reason:
Voters decide nothing. Vote counters decide everything!
Joseph Stalin
Seems so, does it not.
It seems more than half of the uni-party republicans are communist plants.
