Resistance Starts Now

The federal debt ceiling limit was reached today, May 16, 2011. Mr. Geithner has put in a place a plan to raid the pension of federal employees to cover the shortfall.

Geithner, who has already suspended a program that helps state and local government manage their finances, will begin to borrow from retirement funds for federal workers. The measure won’t have an impact on retirees because the Treasury is legally required to reimburse the program.

Robbing Peter to pay Paul again is not the solution. The majority of the people in our country are sentient enough to understand that line must be drawn NOW. But that is not enough. We must contact our US Representatives and let them know in no uncertain terms that they MUST not vote to extend the debt ceiling again. The dire warnings of the consequences if we do not extend the debt ceiling may be absolutely true but we have to accept this fact and face the future. Does anyone believe that spending more money will avoid bankruptcy besides Joe Biden?

So we spent more money until we have enslaved our grand-children’s future and the rhetoric never changes. Resistance starts now by putting our Congressmen on notice:

DO NOT RAISE THE DEBT CEILING

The only consequence of raising the debt ceiling for the 11th in eleven years is further erosion of both the economy and the dollar. If it is already too late, so be it. If we do not take this opportunity to stand up and resist, may our chains rest lightly on our shoulders. The longer we wait, the heavier the chains.

We, our children and our grandchildren will suffer no matter what the government does now. We have made our bed and must now lie in it! I say let’s get it over with now while we still have energy to work to rebuild. Unfortunately the Socialists in power want to keep playing the games so they can create their new world vision. May God forgive us for squandering away the gift of the greatest nation ever in the name of greed and selfishness!

I do not favor raising the debt ceiling one penny. We have a deficit that is out of sight and a debt that is so far unfunded that paying it is going to take years as it is. We have to cut spending by trillions. If we are going to have lie in a bed of thorns I think we should do it now and get it behind us. We can rebuild and we can impeach Obama. In no case would I want to see the debt ceiling raised. This government has squandered more money than any other in history and it is the most corrupt of any in history. We can figure this out and do what we have to do. Raiding retirement funds just might start a civil war or some very violent civil unrest. Vietnam was more than enough reason and this is worse. I would hope that the government would be willing to do the smart thing and cut spending and let the people have a bed that is not to bad to sleep in. In fact that is the best solution available. Congress should get off of their asses and pass legislation to cut a trillion dollars in the budget this year. The money should come from foreign aid and money we are giving to Pakistan and Libya. We do not have the money to assist these people. We have to work to take care of the disabled and elderly but if the government won’t do it, the people will get together and do it. We really don’t need that bunch of elites and that includes the President and Vice President. NO DEBT CEILING RAISED!!!!!!!!!

“I would hope that the government would be willing to do the smart thing…”

We need a point of comparison here:

Smart is to Politician
as
AA is to Alcoholic

Problem is, Step 1 of the 12 Steps is impossible for a Politician
(we admit we are powerless, and our lives are unmanageable)
