Islamic State militants attacked Kurdish forces in Iraq with mustard gas last year, the first known use of chemical weapons in Iraq since the fall of Saddam Hussein, a diplomat said, based on tests by the global chemical weapons watchdog.

A source at the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) confirmed that laboratory tests had come back positive for the sulfur mustard, after around 35 Kurdish troops were sickened on the battlefield last August.

The OPCW will not identify who used the chemical agent. But the diplomat, speaking on condition of anonymity because the findings have not yet been released, said the result confirmed that chemical weapons had been used by Islamic State fighters.

The samples were taken after the soldiers became ill during fighting against Islamic State militants southwest of Erbil, capital of Iraq’s autonomous Kurdish region.

Cool. This opens ROE for tactical nukes. I figure two salvos of TLAM-N would end ISIS forever.
Of course, this is just fantasy. We do not have the political will to attack ISIS with even conventional weapons, let alone tactical nukes. Yet, any non-state actor that employs WMDs (Mustard Gas is a chem WMD) must be taught the unacceptability of doing so. They can only hide behind their creators for so long.

Why would we attack a force we created and supply?

Tom, we would attack them for two reasons –
1. Irony – which causes cognitive dissonance – is an essential element of communist “governance”; it’s purpose being to confound and destabilize not only all potential external enemies, but also as part of the ongoing domestic “revolution” which is defined by continuous abuse of the population at large, and a never-ending purge of anyone and everyone who questions the purpose or wisdom of the ruling elite.

2. War is a necessary component of communism; it serves to destroy all excess domestic production, thereby ensuring a continual state of maximal scarcity, which compels the most grievous and demoralizing competition amongst the populace. In essence, it creates the crucible in which all common sense and common decency is continually burned away, thereby exposing the naked and hungry human animal – the most easily manipulated state of man – and thus perfects the population as political subjects, utterly devoid of their own opinion, their own will, and eventually even their own conceptualization of self. Have you not read Ayn Rand’s Anthem??

Nope, I read Atlas Shrugged though. I am working on going Galt as much as I possible can here very shortly.

My real intent of the question was to make the point that ISIS is an animal created by us.
