I attended the Stop The Mandate Protest in Charlotte, NC yesterday. I went with a crowd of my wife’s coworkers. My wife was unable to go due to work at the hospital.
It started in Freedom Park and they had some speakers there. I’m going to say there were close to a thousand people gathered in the park. Then once the speaking was done we walked to the hospital entrance which I’m going to say was about a mile and a half walk or so. The crowd swelled to I’m going to guess close to two thousand people then.
Traffic that was driving by was very supportive, blowing horns and cheering people on, giving the thumbs up and waving etc. Only a small handful actually drove by giving a thumbs down or flipping us the bird.
All in all, I’d say it was a pretty good turnout. I wish my wife could’ve seen it, but I was there for her.
Yes I know this protest isn’t going to accomplish anything so don’t even go there with me. I know much stronger measures are going to need to be taken. But this had to be done. Yet another measure that I have now exhausted.
Please read the links to the local news and watch their reports to get the media’s side. At least one network actually reported the real number of people that were in attendance.
Anyway that’s about it. If you have any questions leave them in the comment section.
