He should have shot him when he reached for his pretend firearm. Not after he started to draw it. The way it looks the perp could have gotten off a round before the officer fired.

Wonderful, one less in the gene pool for stupidity. For once I agree with the cop.
I spent six years in the Army, some as a M.P. and then another 20 years as a Deputy Sheriff and I would have shot him also under these circumstances ! This is referred to as “Suicide by Officer”
in my earlier days and likely still is. It is a shame but “It Is What It Is” folks.
