I received the following unedited comment yesterday:
You dont get to decide what is evil. God decides that. There’s a correct way to own slaves.
Let’s start with the evil portion. God decides what is evil:
Proverbs 6:16-19
There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers.
The above verses outline what the Lord hates. They serve as a guide for how we should not act but also how to recognize evil. While they represent common sense, if the Lord hates these traits and actions, should we also hate them? And if we hate them, do we show our love of the Lord?
O you who love the Lord, hate evil! He preserves the lives of his saints; he delivers them from the hand of the wicked.
There is evil in the world which no one can deny. The above traits are ubiquitous in our nation’s government and law enforcement. But how many of us actually look at the above list and put it into perspective? Black Lives Matter has a powerful message but should it not include a message about the sanctity of black unborn babies which is shedding innocent blood?
Last week, Murphy had a Black Lives Matter rally in which one side sowed discord stating that the KKK would be coming. The other side sowed discord stating that antifa would be coming. The end result was a peaceful protest with no hate. Imagine if we all could just get along instead of sowing discord.
The second portion of the the comment referred to a correct way to own slaves.
Romans 6:15-23
Slaves to Righteousness
15 What then? Shall we sin because we are not under the law but under grace? By no means! 16 Don’t you know that when you offer yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one you obey—whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness? 17 But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you have come to obey from your heart the pattern of teaching that has now claimed your allegiance. 18 You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness.
19 I am using an example from everyday life because of your human limitations. Just as you used to offer yourselves as slaves to impurity and to ever-increasing wickedness, so now offer yourselves as slaves to righteousness leading to holiness. 20 When you were slaves to sin, you were free from the control of righteousness. 21 What benefit did you reap at that time from the things you are now ashamed of? Those things result in death! 22 But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life. 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
The Bible does not condemn slavery as an institution and outlines how slaves should obey their masters.
Ephesians 6:5-9
5 Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ. 6 Obey them not only to win their favor when their eye is on you, but as slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from your heart. 7 Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people, 8 because you know that the Lord will reward each one for whatever good they do, whether they are slave or free.
9 And masters, treat your slaves in the same way. Do not threaten them, since you know that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is no favoritism with him.
A moral master under God treats his slaves well and respects them. While I understand the point, I cannot condone slavery in any fashion. Our government has enslaved our children through debt, laws and regulations. Are we not slaves whose labor funds the masters and the very behavior that the Lord hates? There are more slaves in the world today than at any point in history.

Many slaves today are children under the title of human trafficking. A convenient nomenclature for child sex slaves. Who among us want to condone slavery? The BLM message is SILENCE IS VIOLENCE. Or the following from 1770:
“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”― Edmund Burke
We have been silent too long and our feet make haste to run to evil at the direction of “leaders” and media. I feel that we are being tested as a people but how we fare in this test is unknown. We lack public virtue and the country is ready to explode. I pray that we recognize evil as the Lord has outlined and act with righteousness.
David DeGerolamo
This is excellent! We must guard our hearts and spirits. Are we operating in YHVH’s council, or the traditions of men? As R.T. Kendall said, “Men at their best are at best men.” Thank you David!
Shalom in Messiah Yeshua, John
Thank you.
Two thumbs up because that’s all I got!
The sheep and the goats are separating themselves in preparation for passing under the rod.
The rod is coming.
The above sculptures are wonderful and true ! All scripture is good and profitable for teaching. however the ones you selected have nothing to do with my ability to purchase a slave..it is not hate that should motivate a man to own a slave . If you hate a person why on earth would you own them? You have to see that guy every day then. Any way dont you read some more of your bible. And try again. Or you can call me of course.. any time for you. By the way I do think you are a good guy and a great patriot! 704 202 6922. Either way. Thanks! You just gave me the topic for the next sledgehammer!
I addressed slavery in the second part of the post.
What you are calling slavery in the modern sense God would consider kidnapping. they are very different in scripture. But any way give me a call . Ive wanted to meet you for a long time anyway. Wes speaks very highly of you. .
He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still
Rev 22: 11
Yes, we would do well to follow Our Lord’s examples.
But there is a limit to what we should endure…
Once the “militant” becomes dangerous, it’s our duty
to protect what we’ve been charged, by God, to care for…
family, friends, and loved ones. It is unbiblical to do otherwise.
There’s many examples throughout scripture of this fact.
Recently, I’ve read a quote, but will have to paraphrase it here…
“The strong/wise warrior plans precise action that fits the need,
rather than acting immediately, with haste, only to fall short of
the mark.”
Anyone defending slavery should imagine himself held unwilling in bondage. Imagine your son or your daughter a slave. Still think it’s O.K? Or is it only O.K if it’s not you or yours? The Koran justifies slavery. Slavery is an evil institution of men and Satan not our Lord Jesus Christ.
Imagine your daughter in a fatal car crash. Are you still driving?
You guys are making me feel uncomfortable the emotional way ya’ll just arbitrarily declare an institution evil. Especially when your creator did not declare it evil. . In fact quite the opposite some people you are commanded to sell as slaves. A thief who can not repay his damages for instance.
