But an ounce of gold as in a US $20 gold piece still has the same purchasing power now as then. Perhaps even a bit more. that is what the fed and FDR have done to us.

Inflation is ALWAYS a monetary phenomenon, nothing else. The root of Inflation is nothing OTHER than the Federal Reserve money creation machine. END THE FED!
