History provides many examples of failed civilizations.

One should then ask “What characteristics might make our present civilization exempt from destruction ?”

IMHO we have nothing that makes our current life impervious to personal and national destruction. An economy is built upon millions of uncoordinated actions focused on creating goods and services, distributing them and building infrastructure and processes, each step made by those seeking individual gain. So too is a civilization built.

Likewise, civilization crash from individual failures and national failures, none of which, if taken individually would be destructive to the whole.

Pogo was right: “ We have met the Enemy and he is Us.”

Do not send your children to die in a strange land. No more wasteful wars. God, family and country! God foremost. Take care of your family and protect them from those who would do ill to them. Country- train for the coming internal conflict. Those evil people in DC do not care for anyone, they only care about the personal wealth and what they can only make from your misery.
