I feel no sympathy for the victims mentioned. Same for gun control folks who only buy a gun after the fact. I’ve lost empathy for much of the world. And a lot of that came about during Johnson’s Great Society and the Women’s Lib Movement. My 6th grade sociology teacher asked if it is possible to determine a person’s character just by looking at them to which I answered yes. I was openly chastised. Some years later police were criticized for profiling. I never quit profiling and I’m seldom wrong.

The trust issue isn’t really one of trust, blind trust, but of seeing clearly what one is looking at and assessing just how much another CAN be trusted. Drop the trust word, replace with clear seeing.
