Parents pretend to kidnap daughter to teach her a lesson about getting into a car with a man she met online. Powerful and made my heart stop. Wow. Do you think it was over the top? pic.twitter.com/Jh9GWnWpe7

I would have made it last longer to make a lesson she would never forget, maybe gag and blindfold her and go for a little ride.
Scared straight? I have no kids so just my opinion. Go for it as a last resort. You are absolute FOOLS for posting this online. Expect lawsuits and State interference if this goes viral. The state will most likely seize the child and file charges against the parents.
So I should cower in fear of the government?
What about the parents of the 329,000 missing illegal alien children? Or should I say migrant children so that they can be ignored?
Not at all, but in this day and age being a gray man is a much better idea IMHO. YMMV I have learned to pick my battles.
I do not think you will ever cower in fear to this evil cabal.
Many of those missing illegal children were sold into the child trafficking network and other purposes. Some were sold before they even stepped onto US soil.
Not the same thing as middle class parents going reality show and posting it. What did the kid learn? She got into a car, and someone took the blindfold off and there were here parents.
I think he meant that the people who *did* this were fools for posting it on line, not you.
Time to quit being the gray man and just tell it like it is, the 329,000 is probable not the real number either. Evil cannot begin to describe what we are dealing with.
I agree with Silver helmet, they should have at least drove around the block.
And why does that driver look like Ben Shapiro?
Sad. Sad, that the parents had to go to that extreme–clearly they were having their troubles with their rebellious little twit. Lots of history there, IMO.
The lesson might have had more impact if they carried out the scene for just a bit longer; maybe to the point of the girl losing bladder control.
What DOES it take for a teen to be brought to the realization that certain behaviors may have deadly consequences, and that death is not necessarily the worst thing that could happen to her once made captive?
I don’t know if she learned the lesson they hoped she’d learn, or not. Maybe she learned she shouldn’t trust her parents? I’m curious to know how it worked out for them.
Seems like I saw this video online years ago, or maybe it was one just like it?
With great respect, this is where things have now got to. Parents are no longer the sole arbiter for their children, no longer the source of instruction and correction, no longer the givers of lessons and menders of ways.
We do not parent our children alone. It takes a village or some shit, right? The online influence, especially when it is revealed to be psychologically structured to appeal to the minds of our kids, is very powerful, insidious, pervasive, and endless.
This is what it has come to. This is where we are. These are the things we contend with. And the fear is only beginning.
God Bless America.
Should have never gone that far. If they were so concerned why did she have a phone and a computer in the first place. Watch your kids folks. This is what happens when families stray from God. Maybe its time for private parochial school. That whole family needs some Jesus time.
Damn I like it, good idea but this could be too protective. Life is about risks I’m 54 and understand this now, A lot of people have met online and the relationships turnout ok. The parents should take this opportunity to explain to children to be more cautious who and where they chat with online rather than not getting into cars. I have picked up strangers off the road that I believed needed a little help, but that doesn’t mean I completely trusted them, had the 9mm close. When I dropped them off they said thank you and I said you bet. Parents need to teach there children how and where to look for friends rather than just scare the shit out of them. Now the young woman may not want to try and date men.
