How does Lavrov suggest we ebd the war with Russia? Easy! Give them EVERYTHING they want. Remember. Putin and his associates are old school communists. There motto is the same as the USSR’s.”What’s mine is mine. What’s YOURS is negotiable.”

I do not know that Putin is evil, bad, or that he is a Communist:
I have listened to him much and watched him carefully when he speaks. I do not see evil or badness there. I find myself agreeing with what I have heard him say (in translation). I watched carefully Tucker’s interview of Putin -- I thought all that he said was reasonable. I totally sympathize with his position that he doesn’t want NATO in Ukraine. I understand his position (which is True) that Ukraine has historically been a part of Russia -- it was NEVER a separate Country. The Russians in those two Districts in Ukraine voted to be reunited with Russia.
In trials, we tell Jurors that they may consider their own personal assessments of Witnesses when deciding whether what the Witnesses say is True or False or Reliable or Unreliable. Since I have no HARD FACTS (and must disregard what the corporate media and Loons say), I can go only by my personal reading of Putin and what he says and how what he says corresponds to what I know are established Facts.
I like Putin. I think he is a decent man. And smart. And strong.
We hear so much which is false. I believe nothing the corporate media or Liberals say about Putin. They LOVED Lenin, Stalin, etc., etc. Since we can’t know whether anything we hear about him is true or false -- we must disregard it and go only with what Putin says & does.
Putin could wipe out the United States -- and there is nothing our obese and/or homosexual and/or trans troops & WOKE military leaders could do to stop it or even respond. Putin has exercised great restraint in not retaliating against the United States. And he looks forward to Trump taking office.
It’s easy to resolve the Ukraine Disaster: The United States, Blackrock, etc., etc., need to get out of there ASAP. The United States shouldn’t give one dime to any one who is inciting war in Ukraine. Let the Districts who voted to reunite with Russia go back to Russia. Let the survivors in the other provinces patch things up as well as they can except that Blackrock, etc., etc., should be FORCED to pay big money for the reconstruction of Ukraine -- including paying pensions to those who were widowed, lost their sons, etc., due to the evil meddling of the United States, Blackrock, etc.
And oh yes, send Victoria Nuland and Boris Johnson and Lindsey Gramm over to Ukraine for trial and execution.

I likey would have replied merely by “thumbs up” if I could have. Perhaps it’s better this way… dunno…

It’s all personal guesswork, and the best we can do is to maximize our exposure to as much information as we can vet on the matter, striving for balance, while keeping our own biases and limitations in mind.

Reading your comment, I sense that you are doing that. I too work diligently to that goal. No small discipline is invovled…. and…

I have almost exactly the same perceptions that you report.

It bothers me, as I know Putin is a carreer politician, with a history in the soviet KGB, and I can’t imagine how a “good person” could achieve that position… yet that *is* my perception, after diligent effort over many years of close observation. I even find myself identifying with him, when I see his demeanor, and the links to kodokan judo I perceive there.

To put this in perspective, I have the same issues with Trump. He’s not a carreer politician, but he must still have checked whatever boxes are mandated on the path to power… and he’s is a consumate egotist. Someone of his history and accomplishments would *have* to have skeletons in his closet… yet… years of lawfare by very powerful groups who appear unconstrained by law, have repeatedly failed to find *anything* of subsance. How can he be squeaky clean? Who knew? It bothers me, yet that *is* my perception.

Putin is not a “good” person. What he is doing is trying to tilt everything in the favor of Russia. Not an inherently bad thing but certainly not good from the West’s perspective. Putin is evil.without doubt. He routinely has opponents murdered. Musk has stated that Putin is far richer than he is…and I would suspect Musk would know. The only way a career spy/ politician gets that rich is via massive corruption. Putin isn’t stupid but he is most definitely NOT a friend or even a neutral adversary. He is an enemy.

Plenty of ad hominem attacks there old buddy. Can you offer any evidence or is it just your opinion? We have plenty of evidence for the wicked deeds of the “West.” Personally, I’d rather live under the leadership of Vladimir Putin than Poopy Pants Biden. At least he appears to love his people and his culture and wants what’s best for them. Can’t say that about Western leaders.

During 1977, two other soldiers and I drove thru the former Soviet Union. We went from Berlin, Germany, drove thru Poland, and entered the USSR at Brest. During that time, we had personal, face to face contact with KGB -- from the “minders” who were assigned to track foreigners to actual gov’t officials. Not everyone in KGB was a torturing thug. The KGB included superb linguists (I never heard such flawless English!), and occupied a host of other positions which didn’t involve evil doing.
I have known a few people in the American CIA -- I didn’t know the torturers and thugs; I knew only field people, analysts, office staff, etc.
So it isn’t necessarily a bad sign that Putin is former KGB. I understand that if one wanted to get anywhere, he really had to join…
Besides, he’s a lawyer!

Putin did not find his new weapon last week or last month. You can bet that, and probably other weapons have been in his back pocket for a while, I would guess. That probably means he could have spanked the capital cities of each of the more militant NATO countries a long time ago. So his restraint has been admirable. I can just imagine the US response if Russia put a base in the carribean.

I agree with you. Russia was revived and lives because of Putin, a decent man. Lavrov is also quite a statesman. I have listened deeply to their speeches.

I would echo your thoughts, ma’am…. Even if these men had not come across as reasonable and sane, still I would not consider them the bad guys simply because (in Canada, at any rate) Justin told me they were the bad guys, and that if I wanted to be a good person I had to Slava my ass off.
(As an aside, the latest round of Canadian firearms bans have now been revealed as collection efforts to be sent to Ukraine… ).
So much falsity going on; it’s getting to the point that the average citizen has to go to great lengths to find lies he can really believe in.
