Ukraine

From Grok:

As of March 8, 2025, the Ukrainian soldiers in the Kursk region are not fully encircled but are in a critical and precarious position, described as “almost” or “nearly surrounded” by multiple sources. Russian forces have made significant advances, cutting off most supply lines and isolating a large portion of the Ukrainian force (estimated at 6,500–10,000 troops) with a very narrow land corridor as their only connection to the border. However, Ukrainian forces still hold some positions, such as Sudzha, and have demonstrated the ability to resist Russian moves, as seen in the ambush near Sudzha.

The situation is dynamic, and the encirclement could be completed if Russian forces succeed in cutting the remaining corridor, as indicated by ongoing operations. The X post’s claim of a complete encirclement may be an exaggeration or based on preliminary reports, but the broader context from credible sources suggests the Ukrainian forces are on the brink of being fully encircled unless they can break out or receive support.

Classic Russian tactic. They’ve used that several times so far. Pincer the enemy, then start squeezing, and closing the escape route. It’s been highly effective, so why do it differently?

Very classic tactic. The caldron.

Russians are oddly casualty adverse so drones and glid bombs will clear out this infestation.

When will the “internationals” start screaming about their “Advisers” being slaughtered. A lot of British accents on the Kursk chatter.

Hopefully there are baskets full of these warm-beer-swilling, Tommy bastards stuck inside this Kursk cauldron of death. Hopefully they get cut down like something out of a WWI over-the-top charge into chattering Maxim guns. This is needed for a complete wakeup call to the British peoples–who are now under the thumb screws of a far-left communist government, led by a degenerate, openly homosexual Prime Minister (Starmer). If a massive loss of British life doesn’t wake up the people of Great Britain–nothing will.

Because of the atrocities committed against the civilians in Kursk by the mercenaries, Russians are no longer taking them prisoner. Orders went out to execute them in the field. Sucks to be a foreigner in Kursk right now.

Indeed it is a classic Russian military tactic, and it does work. Now the ukies (and others who are there, but not “officially” get to experience the FO part that follows the FA.

This is a total ‘rinse and repeat’ of what happened in Bakhmut a year and a half ago. Russia leaves a small narrow escape route that is totally covered by artillery, air-strikes and helicopter gunships (sweet). It becomes a total kill-box no matter which way you move. The only possible way out is through unconditional surrender–which is a bleak prospect for those trapped in this cauldron of death because most of them are foreign mercenaries–which the Russian shoot out of hand upon capture or surrender.

When the Russian military overran Bakhmut–there literally were hundreds of Ukrainian military left behind–trapped under tons of rubble from buildings collapsed atop them by glide bombs. For a couple weeks after the capitulation, there still were desperate pleas for rescue being heard over radio frequencies from those buried alive–which the Russians ignored BTW.

Right now all of these Ukrainian troops being squandered needlessly in this insane Kursk incursion are being pummeled 24/7 by glide bombs, thermo-baric weapons and artillery barrages. Imagine Bein-Bien-Phu in Vietnam for the French times 10 with the modern lethality of weapons.

Links, sir? BTW what point was this comment?

Would you “General” order your men to dig out folks that were trying to murder you?

Awaiting your wisdom in this matter of war.

This is tragic. Those men are dying for nothing.
This is the kind of thing for which former dictators are dragged through the street and hanged upside down.
