UNCONSTITUTIONAL: New Mexico’s Democrat Governor Suspends Second Amendment Rights in Albuquerque with 30-Day Ban on Open and Concealed Carry

In a controversial move, Democrat Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham declared gun violence a public health emergency in response to the shooting deaths of a thirteen-year-old girl on July 28, a five-year-old girl on August 14, and an eleven-year-old boy on September 6.

One of the most troubling aspects of this public health order is the temporary suspension of open and concealed carry laws in Bernalillo County effective immediately. This action directly infringes upon law-abiding citizens’ Constitutional right to bear arms. The Governor has carved out exceptions for licensed security guards and law enforcement officers.

“The action plan includes a suspension of open and concealed carry laws in Bernalillo County, temporarily prohibiting the carrying of guns on public property with certain exceptions. Exceptions include for licensed security guards and law enforcement officers. Citizens with permits to carry firearms are free to possess their weapons on private property (such as at a gun range or gun store), provided they transport the firearm in a locked box, use a trigger lock, or some other mechanism that renders the gun incapable of being fired,” according to the press release.

Consider this exchange outlined in the article from her press conference:

Reporter: Madam Governor, do you really think that criminals are going to hear this message and not carry a gun in Albuquerque on the streets for 30 days?

Grisham: No.

The governor admits that restricting 2nd Amendment rights will not impact criminals. So her motive is to control law abiding citizens. What additional controls will be implemented or extended when this policy fails? Consider this control measure in Texas:

Texas prison system issues statewide lockdown to combat illegal drugs, inmate violence

A rise in drug-related violence has prompted the Texas Department of Criminal Justice to issue a statewide lockdown of its prison facilities, according to agency officials.

The action Wednesday means each of the state’s 100 prison facilities will limit the movement of the 129,000 inmates serving out their sentences. It also means that visitation to those incarcerated will be canceled until after a system-wide search for contraband is completed.

“The safety of inmates, staff, and the public is our highest priority,” said Cris Love, TDCJ’s inspector general in a prepared news release. “Illegal drugs within our facilities will not be tolerated. Individuals found smuggling contraband will be arrested and subject to prosecution.”

Amanda Hernandez, spokesperson for the prison agency, said the lockdown follows a rise in inmate violence, including homicides this year.

I doubt that you can be in a more “controlled” environment than a prison.

Since China has four times the population of the United States, this means Communist China has 1/4 of the population in prison compared to the “free” United States. As I said earlier, it is about control. It also is about money as “prison” is big business in this country: both above and under the table as our Department of “Justice” and intelligence agencies maintain.

Do not submit to tyranny.

David, do you remember the ‘Tea Party / 2A’ meeting in Zebulon, about a decade ago, where Wake Co Sheriff Donnie Harrison told the assembled crowd “There are NO unconditioned Rights”?

At the time he was labeled “Traitor” … in retrospect should he be called “Prophet” ?

Rephrasing John 8:32 for current events: “You shall know the truth, and the truth will enable you to avoid detection and capture.”

But they’re not locking up a lot of the violent street criminals. So maybe they just have the wrong people behind bars.

Who is going to stop her? Like wild feral pigs trapped in a cage, I hear a lot of grunting and squealing, and that’s about it.

I’ll place a small wager that there are plenty of “municipal mercenaries” who will try to detain and capture those who nullify the edict.

Re that chart: Could be that countries ship us the worst of their people through illegal immigration thus they end up in our prisons! If so, our row should reflect a larger portion since so many illegal immigrants are let loose after processing!

If government control will make us safer, why are prisons so dangerous?
