Uniden has unveiled the new five-watt UH950S UHF CB two-way radio for communication in rural areas and the Jump Start Kit for flat batteries and tyre inflation.
The UH950S UHF CB two-way radio, designed for communication in areas with little or no mobile phone coverage, features a metal alloy chassis, 2300mAh lithium-ion battery for 27 hours of operating time, a backlit keyboard, and a LCD display.
With a range of 15km over 80 frequencies, Uniden says the UH950S incorporates its Master Scan technology to ensure a clear channel of communication.
“Whether it’s talking on one or several channels, if the existing channel is interrupted by users outside of the group, all radios in the group will automatically hop to a new, clear channel,” Uniden says.
“This ensures users in a group can continue their conversations without unwanted disruptions.

Umm, there is no UHF CB band in the United States that allows 5W of RF power. The closest is the VHF band called MURS, which allows 2 Watts. The US citizens band, around 27 MHz, allows a maximum of 4W, but requires either AM or SSB modulation, which is not as quiet or clear as FM (used on FRS, GMRS and MURS bands) is.
