We are entering the age of “Full John Galt.” This is a time where society and politicians are rapidly dismantling the rights of ownership. This transfer of rights constitutes a transfer of wealth whether we wish to call it by that name or not. This is a time when people can just walk into a small privately-owned convenience store, then, without paying walk out with an arm full of merchandise with little or no ramifications. This is a time when government deficits have lost all meaning and people are being paid not to work. This is a time when saying what you feel can garner you massive negative attention and ruin your life.
The idea the economy can be planned by a central force has yet to succeed anywhere. The failings and ills of such programs are rooted in the fact that central planning tends to produce enormous unintended malign effects owing to erroneous incentives and price signals. The new mechanisms of socialist control often created to guide the economy are generally not up to the task of maintaining control.In the old Soviet Union, for instance, nail factory managers got measured and rewarded by the tonnage produced. The story goes that one enterprising factory started massively exceeding its quota by producing only ten-ton nails.

I went Full John Galt on April 1, 2021. I refuse to participate in an economic or political system that is evil. I understand how that sounds and to many, it will seem as hyperbole that means nothing. But they are wrong. All it takes for our Constitution to succeed is for moral and religious men to stand up.
That means taking a vocal stand against immorality as supported by the government, businesses and media which are subjecting our children to the concept that homosexuality, gender reassignment and multiple sexual classification are not only normal but must be respected and accepted. My Lord tells me the truth in Romans 1:
God’s Wrath Against Sinful Humanity
The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.
For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles.
Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.
Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.
Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy. Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.
I will never accept sexual perversion as natural because my soul is worth more to me than accepting someone else’s attempts to cast me into eternal oblivion. For those who disagree with me, do not worry, I already have drawn my lines.

I have and no it isn’t. Its a lot more complex now somewhere between a Bracken Cube and a Latin American Fluster Cluck.

I wanted to note something IMO a lot of skilled labor has also gone Galt.
I know companies in my area that have hundreds of opening and no skilled people to fill them. They have some credentialed people but too many of them don’t know jack.
Some of this is a stubborn refusal to increase wages but lack of preparation for Baby Boomer and some Gen X retirement is another big part.
What I think happened is anyone who could leave the workforce after 2020 did. In some places even less skilled labor up and left deciding that they weren’t going to get ahead no matter what and since do to companies like Blackrock Capital and inflation eating any gains and than some they are going to be stuck in low wages even with raises, might as well embrace it.
Lots of minimalism and hustling basically.
There is also a small but growing FIRE movement, Financial Independence Retire Early who embrace minimalism and live way below their means so they can quit formal work.
This class is normally your best consumers so though small in number, they have disparate impact.
All this suggests to me that as the economy implodes the USG will get increasingly stupid and desperate to save consumerism , A panicky government is a dangerous one, doubly so if stupid so be careful.

I have been a Jet Mechanic (A&P, but only on Turbine stuff) for 40 Years now. about 2003 I went into the ‘Cash Economy’ and continued working as an “independent contractor” often on Subcontract Work performed ‘Overseas’.
A Lot of that Work, for both Pilots and Mechanics, was paid in Cash, or even Gold, if the amounts were high. Everyone I worked With and For, had a Determination to Not Pay into the ‘system’ in any way at all.
Now, I still get asked to do ‘Consulting Jobs’, and it would Surprise most people how quickly a Large Company can make Cash available when there is no alternative to getting Work done.
Every Skilled Tradesman should do the same, establish Networks of like professionals, and Customers, for When (not if) the judenschwindler’s fiat paper ‘money’ Collapses, Tradesmen who can “Make thing Work” will be in Demand.
I live in an area where survival beyond the bare minimum is a nonstarter. There are a thousand ways to die. And die we will. Question is how. I’ve made my peace with the Lord and will go down fighting. Doesn’t even bother me at this point.
