It is news to almost nobody who reads American Thinker that a political witch hunt is underway. Parties in and out of government are looking for excuses to suppress and destroy voices that oppose the left.
Because AT lacks the ability to monitor comments in real time, and because our position that comments are a forum, not something we publish, is being called into question, we can no longer publish comments.
We take this action with a heavy heart.
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.
“Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.”
There are some that would stand if they knew that the person in trouble would not let them hang.
This was a decision based on money. Google will not put ads on your site unless you agree to moderate comments. I see the ads are still up on American Thinker. I am not faulting them but it was their decision to make to submit to Google for money.
It would be Smarter if all comments were shit off, at least on right type sites.
You may be helpin someone.
Lota folks getting hot, late nights, drink or 3 and a comment section….

Any site that uses Disqus -- esp. supposed conservative sites -- deserves the ass-reaming they get.
This is one more nail in our coffins. American Thinker has become a staple with many middle of the road ‘thinkers’ who are sometimes willing to stretch their beliefs because of articles AT prints. The real tragedy is that now the leftist communists can suggest that AT police its own content to reflect CCP’s ideas. Being thinkers, you would expect them to have thought of that rather than shut down their comment section.
