One of the more iconic moments during the end of the cold war was seeing the Battle flag hoisted on the Berlin Wall…. That said it all.

Thank you for not calling it a ‘Confederate flag’.
The Confederacy flew three different flags, and the REBEL flag wasn’t one of them.

It was the Tennessee Battle Flag. Lee’s 9th Virginia was the same design but square. The victors rewrite history.

I love this song, this Bonnie Blue Flag flag, this moment in time…recreated here.

The rip tides and currents took my people away from their FREEDOM…and they were are and are my people…not by blood or history but by SPIRIT.

I was born in Pa, raised in NJ, grew up in Nam…and knew from the age of 13 on I was a throwback to this time and culture…and that is where and how I have lived my life.

Indescribable, indisputable, inevitable…and a reality my entire adult life and I’m 75.

It is a haunting and beautiful song with deep meaning.
We are a band of brothers, and native to the soil Fighting for our Liberty, with treasure, blood and Toil;”
I have seen the enemy wrestle among themselves in conversation about where this supposed un- American notion of “blood and Soil” came from and how sure they are it was invented by the MAGA types.

The Confederate flags, North Carolina state, and any union flag prior to 1860 I’ll proudly fly along with the Gadsden flag.

Likewise. I will fly all Rev War and the 1812 Star Spangled banner and all CSA. I no longer put out the current flag since the Clinton Administration at least, though I show it no disrespect.

I have spent a lifetime studying that war. What really happened is available for discovery but requires thoughtful contemplation. The victors wrote the books and hid and obscured the reality. It is impossible trying to explain to publicly educated people what happened. Either they don’t care or they must be political correct. I don’t fly or wear the US flag anymore. I served under that flag and show it no disrespect. The Rebel flag however is my flag and warms my heart whenever I see it. I wear my rebel flag cap and fly that flag on my front porch. Proud to be a son of the Southland.

“It is impossible to explain to publicly educated people what happened.” Truer words were never written. When I was a Teacher’s Aide at a local government high school here in Kootenai County, I wore the Bonnie Blue Flag as a lapel pin. In the time I worked there, NOT ONE teacher, administrator, or student asked me what the pin represented or called me out about it. Sad.
