A man in Somers, N.Y., hatched a plan to catch the individual responsible for allegedly stealing his pro-gun signs repeatedly from his front yard. He bought a trail cam, set it up near the sign — and then waited.
When he learned that his sign had been taken yet again, he was elated because he knew he had finally caught the person responsible on camera.
He just didn’t expect that person to be a uniformed police officer.
That was yesterday. I hope you are going to sue for stolen property and vandalism, yes?
I think the first place to start would be to call the state patrol. They have more jurisdiction than the local city or county.
Most likely nothing will happen because you do not live in a free society. You live in a society where the power to murder you is in the hands of the man you just took a picture of. He can kill you and your family whenever he wants to. Just like he will make up a lie about why he stole your signs. In reality he did not like them. That is why he took it. But that does not matter. He will kill you if you do anything but comply. He has been granted that authority by the federal government. If you try to stop him from stealing your property he is going to shoot and murder you with full respect from the federal government and all your local law enforcement.
But you probably knew that.
The next one needs to be secured in concrete. Let this son of a bitch try to steal that!!
He (the cop) needs to spend some time with the fun people he has put away. Not much, just a few weeks. Then he needs to consider what his actions cost him in the long run (pension, inability to ever seek employment as a cop, respect, etc).
He needs to repay the citizen for the damage he’s done. Sue the cop. He was acting under the color of authority (uniform, cop car, etc) when he committed those crimes. Make his life unpleasant.
He should have to pay for stealing the signs in one way or another.
