Finally, the Church Is Fighting for Our Natural Rights

The Revolutionary War was called the Presbyterian War in England. The clergy in the colonies understood natural laws as given by God and not only supported the revolution, they were on the front lines. The Black Robe Regiment may not be politically correct today but the social justice preached in what passes for most of our churches is a pitiful reminder of the abandonment of the Word in our country.

Father Monk has shown the audacity to remind the local government in Pensacola that free speech is a God given right. This story has two important points that must not be overlooked.

  1. Father Monk is telling the government that our God given rights supersede man’s laws. This is the foundation of our Declaration of Independence and our cornerstone of freedom.
  2. The police officer obeyed the town council instead of the first amendment (supposedly the highest law in the nation) and our God given rights.

Imagine what would happen if the church was more concerned with the Word of God instead of their government license to receive tax free donations. Imagine if the people were more concerned with their country instead of themselves or a particular political party. The role of the church in this country is to provide moral and virtuous citizens. If we have moral and virtuous citizens, we would by default have moral and virtuous politicians. How many politicians would you classify as moral and virtuous in Washington?
