It’s too bad more people don’t know his story. He lived to be 110 years old. He enlisted in the army at age 16 to fight in WW1, was a prisoner of war in WW2 of the Japanese for 3 years, and after release in 1945 led a quiet life as a West Virginia farmer.

The US Government waived the usual requirements so he could be buried at Arlington.

We miss so much by not paying attention to the stories of our forefathers. Thank you for posting this.

Truth, wonder if anyone did a personal oral history with this man?

WOW….What a life, family man, military, farmed until 105. Lived to be over 110 years old. Don’t make them like him anymore, these are the lives that built this country, but will never be spoken in modern day history lessons at our schools.
Thanks for posting

Good thing he was spared from seeing another world war. May he rest in peace. Kind of make you think how some things change while others stay the same. Do we ever really learn anything or is Satan having a ball messing with us? Sorry for the cynicism.

WW1. The British Royal family were German. The Kaiser and the Tsar were German. They were all first cousins. How do first cousins go to war against each other? Bankers. Jewish bankers.
