It’s Not a matter of “Right” or “Wrong”, comrades. You have to think like a Bolshevik to understand your enemy. democRat operatives/voters don’t care that they lied, They/Them Approve of Lying. “The Ends Justify The Means”.
“Facts” are irrelevant, only Emotional fulfilment matters and total victory to finish the Obamy “transformation” into the USSA..
The democRats will Steal and Create Chaos to Win, whatever it takes……..
A Trump win in Nov. Only Guarantees their Chaos Commencement.
CYA, is no joke. It’s “All Peaceful”, until It Isn’t.
Ask for God’s forgiveness now, for the Cold Fury coming, You will have a choice, “Live Free or Die”. I so wish it wasn’t so, but it is. imo.

I was raised to believe that we were a CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC in which the documents every elected official SWORE TO UPHOLD would protect EVERYONE from the whims of the majority (as happens in a “democracy”). Silly me. Seems the “choices” are being framed incorrectly here.

While I agree with you in principle, we no longer live in a society populated by moral people. At this point, in my view, the great experiment our Founders bequeathed us has failed. Given the choice between what we have now and a benevolent dictator, well, that’s not much of a choice. A dictator who loves his people and wants what’s best for them would be preferable to what we now have. The only problem is that there are few historical examples of such.

I agree with your post,wholeheartedly
That said, (while I don’t know all of the historical aspects, and certainly don’t know ALL of the details of the society it created) Germany before Hitler went to war and then others went to squash what was there, might be a good primer lesson

Extreme emergencies render the public willing to accept extreme solutions. Have a couple of quotes from Republican officials:
“Even the iron hand of a national dictator is preferable to a paralytic stroke.” – Alf Landon, governor of Kansas and 1936 candidate for President, in a letter to newly elected president Franklin D. Roosevelt, 1933
“If this nation ever needed a Mussolini, it needs one now.” – David Reed, United States Senator of Pennsylvania, on the floor of the Senate, 1933
Nayib Bukele has suspended virtually all the civil rights of Salvadorans… but he’s put an end to the gang violence that terrorized El Salvador, and his people love him. Whether those rights and protections will be restored any time soon — or at all — is uncertain.
Be careful what you wish for. You just might get it.

Adjectives mean things. Tyrants we fight.

Many people here live in the distant pass. They’ve been left behind. They just don’t know it yet. You were told you had a Constitutional Republic. You were told you had a Bill of Rights. You were told this is the land of the free. You were lied to. You know you were lied to. What did you do about it? Do you know how to fix it? Do it.
