I’ve never heard of this i my time.
Has anyone else ever heard of near half the jury not showing up?

My wife was called to jury selection for a case here in the Ozarks. She went. 60, yes 60 potential jurors failed to show up for jury selection. Judge said he guessed there would be a lot of contempt of court citations issued and the sheriff would be kept busy. I was shocked that they sent out 100 summonses, but they did. I guess with the no-shows this has been an historical problem.

You can bet the absent jurors were planned as a stall tactic. Since they probably have only two alternates, this’ll eventually end up in a mistrial so they can start over, empanel a new jury, then lather, rinse, repeat until hunter walks, after multiple failed attempts at giving him a trial. And we’ll be told “hey, we tried, but just couldn’t get a reliable jury in place for the duration”.

I see these jurors realizing that if they do their duty and follow the law, they would have to vote Guilty.
They are smart enough to know that sooner or later somebody would “out” them, meaning that having voted to convict the Usurper pResident’s son, that they would be doxxed and threatened by the wackos in power,
So it is a whole lot better to look like a doofuss and raise the ire of the Judge, possible finding of contempt of Court, than to face the unrelenting pressures of wackos doxxing them, actual threats to themselves and their families, and whatever the Commies can do to make these jurors fearful of voting to convict.
So do not automatically think these jurors are trying to throw the case.
They are practicing SELF-DEFENSE just as you would do if you were facing a rogue FBLie and intel services plus lone wolf Libtard wackos.

That is a valid point, and I’ll offer that I even considered it. But given what we’ve seen so far from this regime, somehow I find it more plausible that jurors were paid off not to show (and thereby scuttle the case), rather than being intimidated into no-showing. If the judge is captured too, then there is little concern about being cited for contempt.

Maybe Hillary sent the jurors a Merry Christmas card with a note saying “It’s early because you might not make it to December 25th”

Perhaps some late night calls from the Clinton Suicide Hotline. “pardon us sir but it was reported to us that you might be depressed…”

Maybe Hunter’s lawyers will claim that background checks and 4473 forms are unconstitutional. Here’s hoping.
