I remember was from my M-14 in Nam so I understand.
Had a guy get in my face in a local bar in 70 over Nam…he was big in the Rutgers anti war scene…and used the standard insults of the era…we ended up in the parking lot…put him in the ER that night…three onlookers saved his life…I never had another problem in my hometown once word got around.

Viet Nam was a huge mistake for a variety of reasons, not least of which was the draft and forcing young men into a senseless war and then berating them when they returned from a war they didn’t want but were forced into. Their (your) treatment on returning home was one of the most disgraceful moments in our nation’s history.
