Watching, But Very Aware
Here is a synopsis of riots around the country on May 30th, 2020.
Our managers have no clue what to do to stop this national crisis. Raleigh, NC police used tear gas to temporarily disperse the mob.
The national guard has been called into Washington, D.C.
Charlotte, NC issued a state of emergency.
Fayetteville, NC has started to regain control after the Market House historical building was set on fire.
The whole world is watching as our civil society is collapsing. If you are sitting at home thinking the government will take care of this current crisis, you have the rest of your life to make your next decision if it is the wrong one. The silver lining to this situation is that the pandemic is no longer an issue. We either have a larger percentage of the population immune after initial exposure or we will develop herd immunity the hard way.

The Fall of the Republic

Our managers have failed. The mayors of two major cities have instructed the police to stand down and let the protesters work it out. This did not work out in Baltimore and has only emboldened this latest round of protesters. Or should I say looters. Or are the real looters the government as defined by Ayn Rand?
As the riots quickly escalate across the country, the real looters (the political elite) are helpless. The people who tried to live the American dream have become causalities of their apathy as the political elite make excuses. The truth is that any action taken to quell the violence will not be made as they weigh election results in November against restoring peace.
How will America look one week from one? Maybe the question should be whether America will survive intact in the short future. I remember how quickly the Berlin Wall fell. I remember how quickly the Soviet Union dissolved. Factor in mass unemployment, a pandemic, lock downs and a culture war devised to accomplish what we are seeing unfold before you answer.
When we reach the point where we no longer have faith in our government, economy and future, we will look for viable alternatives. I believe helicopter money and government handouts to the producers was the last great hope to extend their rule. How long this final extension will last may very well be in the hands of protesters, agitators and failed politicians.
This was not the end that our founding fathers envisioned. If they were here today, they would say that we have reaped what we have sown.

Charlotte protest of George Floyd’s death turns destructive
Hundreds of people marched in Charlotte Friday night to protest the death of George Floyd in Minnesota police custody. Tensions rose as the shouting protesters attacked police property.
The tires on at least one police car were slashed and windows were broken at the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police substation on Beatties Ford Road. CMPD fired tear gas canisters in response. Activist group Charlotte Uprising tweeted that City Council member Braxton Winston was arrested, and that was later confirmed by CMPD Chief Kerr Putney.
Two dozen officers in full protective gear and another two dozen bicycle officers formed a barricade and ordered the crowd to disperse. Officers made several arrests for property damage, CMPD tweeted.

Protest over George Floyd’s death planned in Raleigh Saturday afternoon
A protest is scheduled Saturday afternoon in Raleigh over the death of Minneapolis man George Floyd.
The event is scheduled to take place at 5 p.m. in front of the courthouse on Fayetteville Street.
Organizers are calling the event A National Day of Action — Justice for George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and lives cut short by Raleigh and Durham police departments.
Wake County closed their downtown buildings early Friday after hearing rumors of a protest taking place Friday night. However, there were no protests in Raleigh Friday evening.
Local activists say there needs to be more conversations about the standards of policing.
“Right now the focus is so much on a police officer’s legal authority. They have a lot of discretion and what we’re going to have to do is start changing the conversation to excellent service,” said Gerald Givens, president of the Raleigh-Apex NAACP.

Amy Klobuchar didn’t prosecute officer at center of George Floyd’s death after previous conduct complaints
George Floyd’s death in police custody is renewing criticism of Sen. Amy Klobuchar’s (D-Minn.) prosecutorial record.
Before she became a senator and a top contender for former Vice President Joe Biden’s vice presidential spot, Klobuchar spent eight years as the Hennepin County attorney, in charge of prosecution for Minneapolis. And while in that position, Klobuchar declined to prosecute multiple police officers cited for excessive force, and did not prosecute the officer who kneeled on Floyd’s neck as he protested, The Guardian reports.
Ex-Minneapolis police officer Derick Chauvin saw at least 10 conduct complaints during his 19-year tenure before he was fired Tuesday, according to a database that documents complaints against police. In particular, he was involved in the shooting death of a man who had stabbed other people before attacking police, as well as some other undisclosed complaints. Klobuchar did not prosecute Chauvin and other officers involved for the first death, which occurred in October 2006 while she was running for Senate. The case was under investigation when Klobuchar took office in the Senate in Jan. 2007, and later went to a grand jury, which declined to charge the officers. Chauvin was later placed on leave when he and other officers shot and wounded a Native American man in 2011.

And just like that, her chance at being Joe Biden’s vice presidential choice are gone.

‘Rednecks’ w/ ARs Defend Against Looters During Minneapolis Riots
As riots in Minneapolis continue in response to the death of George Floyd, some responsibly armed Americans have taken it upon themselves to defend storefronts from looters.
Two such men spoke to local news media about the decision to take up arms and protect local businesses.
“It turns out these guys are out here with machetes and shattered windows trying to keep looters out of the businesses ’cause cops can’t get in here,” said one of the men to MNReformer reporter Max Nesterak.
“So I figured before there were cops, there were just Americans, so here we are. Bottom line, justice for Floyd and I hope they stop looting at some point.”
Carrying AR-pattern rifles, the two men initially set out to join the protesters calling for police to be held accountable for the killing of Mr. Floyd, the unarmed black man who died on May 25th after one officer knelt on his neck for roughly 7 minutes while he was handcuffed lying face down in the street.
Video footage shows Mr. Floyd yelling, “I can’t breathe,” before he eventually goes silent and motionless.
“Basically you see the records that cops keep. And cops are a lot less likely to try and tread on people’s rights when there’re other armed Americans with them,” the other armed citizen told Nesterak earlier in the video. “I figured it’s about damn time that some heavily armed rednecks stood with fellow citizens.”

The two men initially were there to protect people’s rights against the police and then they tried to protect personal property.
Is this what we have to do in a country where the rule of law has broken down?
