We Won’t Be Getting “Back To Normal”… Not Soon… Not Ever!

Authored by Daisy Luther via The Organic Prepper blog,

When will we get back to normal?

If you yearn for the days before COVID-19 swept across the planet, I regret to inform you that those days are gone.

This isn’t a warm and fuzzy blog post telling you that everything is going to be all right. If you’re looking for reassurance that “we’ve got this,” I’m afraid I can’t provide it. This article wasn’t written to console or coddle you, so if that’s what you’re seeking, you’re going to want to stop reading right now.

If, however, you want a reality check on what I believe we’re really facing, I’m not going to hold back. You’ve been warned.

We’re not even halfway through.

You may have seen some optimistic reports recently that the “worst” is behind us. It would certainly be lovely if that’s the case, but in my opinion, this ordeal is just getting started. I wrote an article previously about how long we could expect our current state of lockdown to last using the timelines of China and Italy as points of comparison, and based on that, we are 17 days in as of the writing of this article on April 8.

The lockdown of Wuhan is expected to last 77 days. If our own timeline continues to echo that of China, then we’re not even halfway there. We have at least 2 months left and this doesn’t include any new clusters when the lockdowns are totally lifted or any second waves. We’ve barely begun living in our current state of purgatory and this will continue (and most likely worsen) for quite some time.

So if you’re seeing this as a little break after which you’ll pick up with your life exactly where you left off, you’re going to be extremely disappointed. You need to adapt now because if you don’t, the future is going to be very hard on you mentally.

Use this time to think about the changes you can make to meet the needs of your family. Learn new skills, practice old ones, and get your head in the game.

Wait…You Can Get Reinfected With The Coronavirus?

Back in February, we saw some early reports that some coronavirus patients in China may have become infected again after their initial recovery.

The data was scarce and we haven’t had much to go on since then…until now. More recent studies now indicate that a certain percentage (possibly a third?) of “recovered” patients have so few antibodies to covid-19 that they’re able to get re-infected at a later date.

If indeed the case globally, this would dampen hopes by substantially retarding progress to herd immunity. And increasing the public health risk, especially since the severity of the infection seems notably worse the second time around.

Don’t despair yet, as there are material open questions regarding this new data that require further study. But it does reinforce the nefarious complexity of this honey badger of a virus.

In the meanwhile, keep up your self-protection efforts — social distance, good hygiene, PPE, and get that garden going!

Chicago Mayor Signs Executive Order Allowing Illegal Immigrants Access To Virus Relief Funds

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot issued an executive order April 7 allowing illegal immigrants and refugees in the city, regardless of birth country or current citizenship status, access to relief benefits amid the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus pandemic.

The order says it will “ensure that all Chicagoans have fair and equal access to benefits, opportunities, and services provided by the City,” including anything provided as disaster relief to help fight the CCP virus pandemic.

“This order is more than just an official decree, it is a statement of our values as a city and as Americans,” Lightfoot said in a statement.

“Since COVID-19 first reached our city’s doorstep, we have been working around the clock to ensure all our residents are secure and supported, including our immigrant and refugee communities, who are among the most vulnerable to the impact of this pandemic.”

“Here in Chicago, saying ‘we are all in this together’ means that during this crisis, no one gets left out and no one gets left behind,” she said.

Illegal immigrants who have no legal status in the United States do not meet the criteria for state unemployment insurance or other economic assistance, or the stimulus checks the federal government is sending out to all registered tax-payers part of the $2 trillion coronavirus relief bill Congress passed in March.

Charley Hogwood: Disaster Psychology

I kindly asked Charley Hogwood to do a presentation at the 2018 PATCON concerning how people will react in the upcoming SHTF scenario. There were many reasons why I wanted to get this information out but as we are now seeing, people are not handling stressful conditions very well.

This is Part 1 of his 2 hour presentation. Charley decided that he would offer a class which would be at least 8 hours to cover this topic in the detail it deserves. But we are now here. How are people acting? Or I should say reacting.

How will you cope with this anger, frustration, disconnect from reality and the eventual acceptance of building a new country?

Economics of Ammunition

Economics of Ammunition

It is important to understand that ammunition pricing is not set by what the ammunition costs to produce, rather it’s determined by what the next batch is going to cost to produce. The profit margin is a set percentage that’s typically going to remain constant as long as production costs remain constant. An important factor in production are labor costs, which are similarly constant unless demand increases or decreases and affects long-term projections. As you can imagine during this unprecedented event, costs are fluctuating dramatically.

Due to factors beyond the control of the ammunition companies, the cost of components and raw materials has more than doubled within the last two weeks. Fiocchi and Vista Outdoors, for example) are two major ammunition manufacturing brands I’ll discuss. Fiocchi is shut down for commercial business and operating with minimal staffing for their military customers. Vista Outdoors is up and running, but they are fervently working to catch up to an unstable market that went berserk. Even with a redirection of resources and a recent price hike to cover it, it’s going to take time before covering their adjusted costs with respect to their actual output stabilizes.

It’s also worthwhile to consider how Covid-19 is affecting the smaller small arms and ammunition providers. Turkey, home to the manufacture of much of the imported shotguns and handguns has been getting frisky with Syria. Even if Turkey’s munitions factories could bear some of the production output in support of their American clients, the shipping ports are generally closed. The same applies to our allies in the Czech Republic. The Czechs could be sitting on mountains of propellant powder, but there is no way to get it to us. Russian-sourced ammo and components are also affected.

Dad handcuffed and led away by cops in front of 6-year-old daughter for violating social distancing

Matt Mooney told KDVR-TV he was playing tee ball with his 6-year-old daughter and his wife at Donelson Park in Brighton, Colorado, on Sunday afternoon when three police officers showed up to inform him that he was violating social distancing guidelines put in place to slow the coronavirus spread.

The 33-year-old added to the station that he refused to provide his identification to the officers because he was certain he wasn’t breaking any laws.

‘Daddy, I don’t want you to get arrested’

His daughter, however, wasn’t so sure.

“She’s like, ‘Daddy, I don’t want you to get arrested,'” Mooney recalled to KDVR. “At this point I’m thinking, ‘There’s no way they’re going to arrest me, this is insane.’ I’m telling her, ‘Don’t worry, Daddy’s not going to get arrested. I’ve done nothing wrong. Don’t worry about it,’ and then they arrest me.”

He told the station the officers handcuffed him right there in front of his daughter.

A Coup to Stop a Revolution: Taking the Whole World Hostage

We are victims of a new Stockholm syndrome. We find ourselves having to trust the very governments we have come to distrust more and more over the years. We are forced to turn to the same politicians and apparatchiks who have systematically stripped away our livelihoods, the value of our earnings and savings, our liberties, our rights and our self-esteem for years. We are made to take our eyes off the jackboot grinding down our necks by a poison-tipped dagger at our hearts.

Perhaps it is time to draw a deep breath and reflect on the extraordinary changes being thrust upon our lives by this virus crisis. The fear factor has been drummed up with methodical hysteria by Western mainstream media. And by extension, the media in the rest of the world which has little originality when it comes to reporting on global issues. This is not to ignore the lethality of the virus, nor the havoc it is wreaking around the world. But it must be asked, who is benefiting from it? What comes after?

It does not matter at this stage whether the virus was engineered or if it is a natural mutation. Conflicting views, even medical opinions, are flying fast and furious. We are not equipped to judge them. We lack the facts and knowledge. More to the point, we are too busy stocking up and locking down. Yet, not being able to understand the origins of the threat should not deter us from thinking about the consequences of the unprecedented measures to fight it. For ourselves, our communities, our nations, our world — the only world that there is.

We are seeing a replay of 2008, with afterburners lit this time. An enormous new wave of printing money and slashing its price (interest rate) to zero has been unleashed around the world. It dwarfs the previous bailout of criminally reckless banks and big business by an order of magnitude. This time camouflaged by flinging a barrel of table scraps at the ordinary people. Already seething at the fallouts of the earlier round, people would not accept it had they not been frightened out of their wits by something worse.

Whoever did this to us did it deliberately. Whether they created the virus or pounced on it as a timely opportunity we may never know. It is safe to assume though the cabal of the unprincipled of the world will not flinch at the ‘collateral damage’ by way of a few hundred thousand, even a few million deaths. Populous countries will absorb it in their stride. The ones used to making other populations pay for their greed will make them absorb it. No government today has a claim on morality worth a dime. No matter what its political ideology. Scratch the surface with a fingernail, they are all beholden to their moneyed vampires.

This virus will pass. Hopefully before our stocks of essentials run out. The locks on the new chains around our necks may not open that easily. The keys to many are already being thrown away. We are being herded across the last mile into a brazenly neofeudal social order. An order their lordships will defend to the last drop of their serfs’ blood. As they always have.

The only way this can end is a collapse of the entire financial house of cards. And with it the attempt to hijack whole populations into economic slavery, social dehumanization and political impotence. To enforce upon them the voicelessness of hopelessness. The common people will be hurt along with the crooks. But they have less to lose because they have so little already. The elite do not fear mere ruination. They are terrified of retribution. A revolt of the peasants. Heads rolled, literally, when this happened the last time.

The world has gone without a revolution for 75 years since World War II ended. We have not been kept wanting for sensational political power struggles, economic upheavals, regime changes and lesser wars. None of it amounts to an uprooting of the social order in any country. They were all coups between factions of the ruling class. It is only when a ruling class in its entirety is overthrown by the ruled it is called a revolution. This latest coordinated coup is meant to stop one.

China Forces Italy To Buy Back PPE It ‘Donated’

China has distributed nearly 4 billion masks to foreign countries as it ramps up production of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), a move to restore its image as a global leader focused on humanitarian relief amid the COVID-19 pandemic that originated in its country and spread across the world.

However, The Spectator provides a new account of how China’s latest diplomacy has turned out to be an absolute ‘disaster,’ in the latest example with Italy and other European countries.

China told the world that it would donate tons of PPE to Italy to slow the virus outbreak. Reports now indicate that China actually charged Italy for PPE, instead of donating. It also turns out the PPE China sent over was the same equipment that Italy donated to China earlier in the year. What a mess…

“Before the virus hit Europe, Italy sent tons of PPE to China to help China protect its own population. China then has sent Italian PPE back to Italy — some of it, not even all of it … and charged them for it,” a senior Trump administration official told The Spectator.

Since March 1, China has exported 3.86 billion masks, 37.5 million pieces of PPE, 16,000 ventilators, and 2.84 million test kits across the globe, according to the New York Post

Interesting: MUSC Health lays off 900 in response to ‘unprecedented’ financial deficits from COVID-19

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – Officials with MUSC Health say they are temporarily laying off 900 health care team members and are reducing pay for employees.

Every member of the MUSC Health team will see some impact to their pay, including a 20% reduction for leaders, a 15% reduction for salaried employees and a reduction in work hours for hourly paid employees who do not provide direct patient care, according to a statement by MUSC.

MUSC officials emphasize that at this time, frontline health care team members, who have already seen fewer work hours due to COVID-19 response, will not see any additional pay cuts so that MUSC Health can continue to be prepared to face the public health crisis as it unfolds.

According to MUSC President David J. Cole, the health care network is implementing what they are calling a “workforce realignment” as the network works through “unprecedented and serious” financial deficits from the COVID-19 epidemic.

Cole released a letter to staff on Monday stating that the demands and “health care delivery imbalances” originating from the treatment of the virus have placed the hospital in significant financial duress.

Cole said the “workforce realignment” affects every employee of MUSC Health.

He said hard decisions will be made which will impact team members and their families.

May the Death of One Society Give Birth to a New Greater One.

Proverbs 27:12 New International Version (NIV) 12 The prudent see danger and take refuge, but the simple keep going and pay the penalty.

It should be evident to most everyone now that our country as we knew it is over. It’s over. It is never going back to way that it was.

I don’t know exactly what the game is that is being played.

This Virus is real. The panic and other actions being generated by our government seem to be overblown and generally appear unwarranted.

We all knew our economy was teetering on the edge of a cliff for a long time now. It seems to me that TPTB have seized on this opportunity presented by this virus to make their play and bring it all down.

This is the hand we have been dealt. Now what are we going to do about it?

There are many that say we deserve what is coming. Perhaps we do.  Our society as a whole turned away from God. We took him out of our schools and even made it illegal to mention him in many public places.  Our society has celebrated consumption over production, being famous over a person abilities, and our government even took over for many families as the head of the household.

The bible tells us that God would not send another flood, but pestilence is mentioned many times. I’m not necessarily saying that this virus is from God, it quite possibly could be manmade and the Chinese could have lost control over it or set it loose on purpose. I don’t know.

Luke 12:48 New International Version (NIV) 48 But the one who does not know and does things deserving punishment will be beaten with few blows. From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.

I think this could be used as a reset point from which a renewal of proper values and principles may be able to be established.

How we will do this, I don’t know. Hopefully God will show us the way.

Already the MSM are conditioning the people to prepare for a National Lockdown. I’ll be surprised if it doesn’t happen in the next two weeks. We’ll all soon have nothing but time. For many Government will be their God. I for one refuse.

The time is fast approaching I believe for us to put those words so eloquently put in the Declaration of Independence to use. It’s time for us to declare our reasons to dissolve this Government and establish a new one. Hopefully God will see fit to protect those of us that want to pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.

I don’t know how this will come about. I believe we’ll know when the time comes. But it’s coming. Hopefully you’re using all your free time to further prepare. May the death of one society give birth to a new greater one.

How We’ll Get Through The Coronavirus Debacle

As we prepare to enter “hell month” across the globe, when coronavirus infection and death totals will climb to peak intensity, today’s video look at what we need to do to get out the other side of this pandemic as quickly and safely as possible.

First, we need to identify the best treatments asap and standardize around them. We’re starting to see promising contenders (e.g., early-on hydroxychloroquine+azithromycin+zinc). Let’s separate the best from the rest and develop scalable protocols and deployment around them.

Second, we need to test the population for antibodies and put recovered back to work NOW in critical positions (food delivery, first line of defense for health care, in-home care for the sick, etc)

Third, we need to get the low-risk folks back to work with effective PPE and self-protection practices, while keeping the at-risk safely isolated. In this way, we’ll get to herd immunity faster while reducing fatalities, restoring the economy, and protecting the health care system from being overwhelmed.

This is what we need to do. But will we do it? Watching our current “leaders”, honestly, it will be a crap shoot. For every step forward, it seems we make a boneheaded policy response in return. Which is why we all need to hope for the best but continue to plan for the worse.

In the interim, get started on your garden!

A ‘Liberty’ Rebellion in Idaho Threatens to Undermine Coronavirus Orders

A ‘Liberty’ Rebellion in Idaho Threatens to Undermine Coronavirus Orders

Inside an old factory building north of Boise, a few dozen people gathered last week to hear from Ammon Bundy, the man who once led an armed takeover of an Oregon wildlife refuge.

The meeting, which appeared to violate orders by Gov. Brad Little of Idaho to avoid group gatherings, was an assertion of what Mr. Bundy said was a constitutional right to peacefully assemble. But Mr. Bundy said he also hoped to create a network of people ready to come to the aid of those facing closure of their businesses or other interference from the government as a result of the coronavirus outbreak.

“If it gets bad enough, and our rights are infringed upon enough, we can physically stand in defense in whatever way we need to,” Mr. Bundy told the meeting. “But we hope we don’t have to get there.”

In a state with pockets of deep wariness about both big government and mainstream medicine, the sweeping restrictions aimed at containing the spread of the virus have run into outright rebellion in some parts of Idaho, which is facing its own worrying spike in coronavirus cases.

The opposition is coming not only from people like Mr. Bundy, whose armed takeover of the Oregon refuge with dozens of other men and women in 2016 led to a 41-day standoff, but also from some state lawmakers and a county sheriff who are calling the governor’s statewide stay-at-home order an infringement on individual liberties.
