By 1870, the corruption of the carpetbagger governments and the violence of the Union League was becoming a concern to a significant minority in the U. S. Congress.

In 1869, there were Union League barn burnings and other destruction in every North Carolina County. During a single week in Gaston County, nine barns were burned.  In two months of the same year in Edgecombe County, two churches, several cotton gins, a cotton factory, and many barns and homes were burned.  The Raleigh Sentinel reported on August 29^th of the same year that ten Federal Army companies associated with the Union League had terrorized the Goldsboro area and committed violent depredations of all sorts. It reported the actions of the troops “so violent that it was unsafe for women to leave their homes.”  

As Klan activity increased in response to Union League and other Reconstruction misdeeds, the Radical Republicans, who commanded a majority in Congress, formed a committee to investigate the Klan. An 1871 minority report by Northern Democrats and Conservative Republicans representing more than a third of the committee, however, noted that the Union League had “instilled hatred of the white race” and had “made arson, rape, robbery, and murder a daily occurrence.” They also noted the role of corrupt government and Union League violence in driving whites to take law into their own hands. 

A very stringent anti-Klan law was passed by the North Carolina’s radical Reconstructionist dominated legislature under the direction of Governor Holden in January of 1870.  True to past Radical Republican despotism, it gave the Governor power to declare counties in a state of insurrection and supersede practically all laws and Constitutional rights in its prosecution.   Despite a vigorous attempt to enforce the law, Klan-like activity increased and a top black activist and leader of the League in Alamance County was found hanging in a tree.  Shortly thereafter, Senator John Stephens, a ranking white operative for Governor Holden, seeking evidence for Klan prosecutions, visited a Caswell County Union League meeting.  There he handed to each of about twenty members a box of matches with the suggestion that they should be put to good use burning barns. Barns were essential to the livelihood of farmers.

Although I did not put any names on my PSA concerning trolls and agitators, I received this comment (not published). I am posting this to show that some people will take out their frustration on whomever is handy. I also am posting to show that we are entering a higher paradigm in the country in which actions as well as words will determine the character of the individual. Use this time wisely to develop your operational security and who to trust.

Rather than allow your few readers to read my response in opposition to both your and Andy’s embrace of statism, you REMOVED my comments opposing you. You chose to CENSOR my remarks, remove my commentary opposing your big government mentality. Rather than let others read and decide the accuracy and validity of my comments for themselves. How very PRAVDA of you.

Although you referred to my comments as that of a troll and agitator, I am neither. Except to you and others such as yourself when we dare to challenge your thought process.

I am well aware you will not publish my reply to your childish actions excusing your censorship as being due to “trolls and agitators”.

Rest assured I won’t waste further time with this blog. Your lies of omission do not endear me to you. However, you would do well to understand that:

Dissent is the highest form of Patriotism.

I am proudly your troll and agitator.

I very rarely blacklist commenters on this site. The purpose of this site is to provide news and information for readers to make informed decisions. I understand that this is a stressful time in the entire world. However, I and other authors are not here to be attacked by trolls and agitators.

I will be more proactive in blacklisting comments which are attacks or posted to start arguments. I agree with Wes that we are never going back to the way it was. Now is the time for the sunshine patriots to stand aside and let us fight for our children’s future.

Fears have been raised that the coronavirus may be able to remain in the body and “reactivate” later after 51 recovered patients tested positive again.  

The patients, from the city of Daegu, South Korea, had all spent time in quarantine while recovering from the virus, but were diagnosed again within days of being released.

Without more studies that can be replicated, this is another unknown associated with this virus. It could be false negatives, reinfections as the Chinese were reporting or the virus becoming dormant. The only takeaway from this report is that it requires more studies as quickly as possible.

Do you remember Dr. Redfield’s Congressional testimony telling us that we don’t need masks and there was no need to stock 14 days supply of food? So much for the CDC’s credibility. Fast forward and Dr. Birx is telling us to stay away from grocery stores and pharmacies:

“This is the moment to not be going to the grocery store, not going to the pharmacy, but doing everything you can to keep your family and your friends safe,” coronavirus response coordinator Deborah Birx said at a White House news briefing over the weekend.

I doubt there is any point to give more examples of dubious guidelines from the government. I could also discuss the promises of monetary relief or government small business loans/grants. As the fourth turning is upon us, one of its keystones is the loss of credibility in the government. So how much of your fortune is stored in 1’s and 0’s? Then again, what good is any fiat currency once the bank runs start?

1)  On March 17th, we had 4000 confirmed cases. Today, April 4th, it’s at over 300,000 confirmed cases.

We have more than that; you know it, I know it, Yellow Dog knows it. But that means, minimum, this is doubling every three days, and has done so six times in the last nineteen days.

That’s eight million cases by the 19th of April, give or take.
And spotting this the low end of only a 1% CFR, that’s 80,000 dead in two more weeks, which surpasses any flu season, and is 4 times worse than the average one.

In perspective, it’s nearly a year’s worth of U.S. combat deaths from WWII, in just 2 more weeks, if it rolls out that way. It may be better or worse, but it’s sure as hell not anywhere close to good yet.

So, can we please finally STFU about how this is “just the flu”, and how “the cure is worse than the disease”, when opening the floodgates takes the spread of this to Mars, on a rocket ship?

It’s doubling every three days now, not just because of testing, but because it can, and this is with most of the country on at least voluntary stay-at-home, to restrain the spread (which is working, when dumbasses actually do it).

You can think happy thoughts when cases and deaths (over 1100 since yesterday) peak, and come down the other side of the roller coaster. Not before.

So I repeat, for emphasis:

Stay your happy ass at home, and DON’T catch this. Somewherebetween 97 and 99% of you will probably recover just fine. But 1-3% of you, and not all of them “old” by any standard, are going to die in a coma, isolated, with a plastic tube down your throat, and breathing mucus while you drown in your own body fluids. If you don’t have it now, and don’t catch it, you don’t have to see about finding that out firsthand, even at 1 chance in 33 or so. Go back and read this morning’s post, and see what you need to be working on. Worrying about this won’t fix it. Just know it’s still craptastic. Now go get on with your life, such as it may be, and do constructive things with your time.
