Coronavirus: The Pandemic Is Accelerating Worldwide

Outside of the lockdown within China, covid-19 cases are accelerating across the globe.The virus has truly jumped the defense line. It’s now a true pandemic, with countries all over the world reporting huge percent increases in the number of infected cases.

We already know it has reached ‘endemic’ status in Japan and South Korea. But overnight, new cases have been declared by the US, Italy, Iran, Lebanon, the UAE and Israel, among others.

And within China, reports of patient “re-infection” are starting. We’ve been talking about the adverse metabolic response a second covid-19 can cause. Are we starting to see examples of that? Time will tell.

Meanwhile, the markets are begrudgingly waking up to the severe damage China’s broken supply chains are inflicting on world trade.

THIS is How You DO It

I read every comment posted here. (Yes Trolls, even your screeds that I sh*t-can.) Some mornings and some comments make everything worthwhile. This is one of them.

From Comments:

@aesop

Thank you for recognizing our work to create the muster here in Bedford County. Yes, there are many of us that read your blog. Like you said, it didn’t take much to be honest. Just a close knit group of guys that have had enough. We have been lobbying at Lobby day for years now, went to the rally, sent our emails, made our phone calls and we have been training with a more quiet and smaller group for years now.

We decided it was time to make this happen. We put out the flyer which was a copy of the Floyd County muster flyer (which happened back in Jan), and then started posting it in every convenience store, fire station, YMCA, etc we could post it. Called the news media and sent them the flyer, told them what was going on, etc. Some of our team met with the Sheriff and his team and he was very supportive and glad to see we were organized, had thought through everything and he saw no reason for him nor any of his deputies to attend after he learned of our intentions and why we were calling it.

With that, we borrowed a PA system, had some signs made to place in the roads to direct people, found more volunteers, created our muster cards, had hats made for sale, and made it happen. Again, the work of a dozen focused men to create this and then about 25 of us (men and ladies) on the day.

Now what? Now, we go to the Board of Supervisors and make this an official militia so there is legal weight to it. We have training scheduled for the next two months already, we have emails and info regarding next steps ready to go, we are looking for more trainers and land to train on. We are meeting with the Sheriff again and keeping a dialogue open.

We are also organizing the Campbell County Muster as well (adjacent to Bedford County) and hoping for the same turn out.

But wait, there’s more:

R0G€R $T0N€ SENTENCING – The Elephant in the Room that ALL the Donkeys Can’t See

And What Will Be the Consequences?

As stated above, COVID-19 is running rampant throughout Iran. They knew that they were infected and hid it from the world. This allowed (as of now) for a transmission to Canada and Lebanon. I suspect they are not the only country suppressing information in order to bolster their central banks.

This is why I never liked discussing which scenario would bring down the world to a dystopian future. I personally thought it would be an economic collapse based on the coordinated actions of the world’s central banks coupled with a massive debt that could never be repaid. But here we are on the precipice of a pandemic which threatens to kill millions of people even in a best case scenario. The unintended consequences of this pandemic will be a worldwide economic collapse as we are seeing unfold. The markets have been artificially held up through the actions of world governments but this seems to have to come an end. As their grip on the price of gold slips, the only time tested currency is skyrocketing. And gold is the key to determine how close we are.

Our Servant, Jesus
By John Piper

“The Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (Mark 10:45)

Not only was he the servant of his people while he lived on earth, but he will also be our servant when he comes again. “Truly, I say to you, he will dress himself for service and have them recline at table, and he will come and serve them” (Luke 12:37). Jesus gave that as a picture of what he will do at his return.

Not only that, he is our servant now. “‘I will never leave you nor forsake you.’ So we can confidently say, ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?’” (Hebrews 13:5–6).

Does this belittle the risen Christ — to say that he was and is and will ever be the servant of his people? It would, if “servant” meant “one who takes orders,” or if we thought we were his masters. Yes, that would dishonor him. But it does not dishonor him to say that we are weak and need his help.

It does not dishonor him to say that he is the only one who can service us with what we need most.

It does not dishonor him to say that he is an inexhaustible spring of love, and that the more he helps us and the more we depend on his service, the more amazing his resources appear. Therefore, we can confidently say, “Jesus Christ is alive to serve!”

He is alive to save. He is alive to give. And he is thrilled to be this way.

He is not burdened down with your cares. He thrives on burden-bearing, not burden-giving. He loves to work “for those who wait for him” (Isaiah 64:4). He “takes pleasure . . . in those who hope in his steadfast love” (Psalm 147:11). His eyes “run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to give strong support to those whose heart is blameless toward him” (2 Chronicles 16:9).

Jesus Christ is exuberant with omnipotent service for the sake of all who trust him.

Amazed at the Resurrection
By John Piper

This is now the second letter that I am writing to you, beloved. In both of them I am stirring up your sincere mind by way of reminder. (2 Peter 3:1)

As Easter approaches, let’s stir up our thankfulness and joy and admiration and amazement at what the resurrection of Jesus means for us. The curse of our fallen nature is that what once thrilled us becomes ordinary. The reality hasn’t changed. We have changed.

This is why the Bible exists. Peter says of his two letters that they are written to “stir up” or “arouse” by means of “reminder.”

So, let’s stir up our sincere minds by way of reminder.

What has God done in raising Jesus from the dead? Here are a few biblical answers.

Because of the resurrection of Jesus, we are born again to a living hope.

1 Peter 1:3: “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.”

Because of Jesus’s resurrection, he now has the glory for which we were made. Our ultimate destiny is to see him as he is.

1 Peter 1:21: “God . . . raised him from the dead and gave him glory.”

John 17:5, 24: “And now, Father, glorify me in your own presence with the glory that I had with you before the world existed. . . . Father, I desire that they also, whom you have given me, may be with me where I am, to see my glory that you have given me because you loved me before the foundation of the world.”

May the risen Lord Jesus himself awaken and arouse your sincere mind to new depths of worship and allegiance and joy.

What is the ‘boogaloo’? How online calls for a violent uprising are hitting the mainstream

Image: Gun rights advocates wearing body armor and carrying firearms leave a rally organized by The Virginia Citizens Defense League near the State Capitol Building Jan. 20, 2020 in Richmond, Virginia.

An anti-government movement that advocates for a violent uprising targeting liberal political opponents and law enforcement has moved from the fringes of the internet into the mainstream and surged on social media in recent months, according to a group of researchers that tracks hate groups.

The movement, which says it wants a second Civil War organized around the term “boogaloo,” includes groups on mainstream internet platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Reddit, as well as fringe websites including 4chan, according to a report released Tuesday night by the Network Contagion Research Institute (NCRI), an independent nonprofit of scientists and engineers that tracks and reports on misinformation and hate speech across social media.

While calls for organized and targeted violence in the form of a new Civil War have previously circulated among some hate groups, the emergence of the term “boogaloo” appeared to be a new and discrete movement. NCRI researchers who analyzed more than 100 million social media posts and comments found that through the use of memes — inside jokes commonly in the form of images — extremists have pushed anti-government and anti-law enforcement messages across social media platforms. They have also organized online communities with tens of thousands of members, some of whom have assembled at real-world events.

Michael Bloomberg thinks he owns the ground you walk on.

Michael Bloomberg thinks he owns the ground you walk on. Literally. At least, that’s what a Bloomberg staffer told GRNC volunteers who protested Bloomberg’s campaign event in Greensboro. In the photo below, the staffer is trying to eject GRNC from a public sidewalk, claiming Bloomberg had “purchased” the sidewalk.

(In fairness, Bloomberg has bought “astroturf” gun ban organizations and is buying a presidential bid, so why not a public sidewalk?) Even funnier, Bloomberg changed the location of his Greensboro campaign event three times to avoid GRNC. So much for being a “man of the people.”

GRNC has protested Bloomberg twice in recent weeks. Why? Because (you heard it here), anti-gun zealot and billionaire Michael Bloomberg will be the Democrats’ presidential nominee.

    Yep. After “Quid Pro Joe” implodes and the Dems realize an unelectable socialist is about to head their ticket, they will quickly discard all their ostensible scruples regarding Bloomberg’s racist comments because Bloomberg is the only Democrat who could potentially beat Donald Trump.

    And even if Bloomberg doesn’t win, you might well lose. Why? Because according to his astroturf “Everytown for Gun Safety,” Bloomberg plans to spend $60 million – much of it here – to do to North Carolina exactly what he did to Virginia.

    That is why we are gearing up the GRNC Political Victory Fund for election action like none we have undertaken before. Our federal political action committee has been electing pro-gun candidates since 1996.

    The GRNC Political Victory Fund (GRNC-PVF) routinely does “independent expenditures” to elect pro-gun candidates, including:

  • Hundreds of thousands of mailings to elect pro-gun legislators;
  • Millions of email election alerts;
  • Hundreds of thousands of telephone election alerts;
  • Thousands of dollars in radio spots;
  • Thousands of Facebook political ads; and
  • A new capability to send election alerts by text.

    But those efforts pale by comparison to what we have in mind for Bloomberg in the 2020 General Election.

        The problem is that GRNC is restricted by law from using membership funds to elect or defeat political candidates. That’s why we created our federally-registered political action committee, the GRNC Political Victory Fund.

        But we can’t do it without you. Yes, we are far more efficient than other PACs because volunteers pour thousands of hours of sweat into defending your gun rights.

        But the sad reality is that winning still requires money.

What I need you to do…

PLEASE DONATE to GRNC-PVF by going to:
www.grnc.org/grnc-pvf/donate-to-grnc-pvf

  • But one way or the other, we desperately need your help to defend North Carolina gun rights against the anti-gun “perfect storm” bearing down on us in the 2020 elections.

Armatissimi e liberissimi,

F. Paul Valone
President, Grass Roots North Carolina
Executive Director, Rights Watch International

P.S. Don’t let your state go the way of Virginia! I realize you have lots of competing interests but, in the 2020 elections, our rights are at stake. So I am asking you to take a moment away from your busy life to help GRNC-PVF defend gun rights from the leftist onslaught. $250, 100, $50, even $25 will help the GRNC Political Victory Fund to prevail.

The Kind of Cold That Kills
By John Piper

He sends out his command to the earth; his word runs swiftly. (Psalm 147:15)

Tonight it will be forty degrees warmer in our kitchen freezer than it is outside here in Minneapolis. The high temperature tomorrow will be five degrees below zero (Fahrenheit). We receive this from the Lord’s hand.

He sends out his command to the earth;
his word runs swiftly.
He gives snow like wool;
he scatters frost like ashes.
He hurls down his crystals of ice like crumbs;
who can stand before his cold?
He sends out his word, and melts them;
he makes his wind blow and the waters flow.
(Psalm 147:15–18)

This is the kind of cold you do not play with. It kills.

When I came to Minnesota from South Carolina, I dressed for it. But I did not prepare life-saving support in my car in case of a breakdown.

One Sunday night on the way home from church, in this kind of cold, my car died. This was before cell phones. I had a wife and two small children in the car.

There was no one on this road. I suddenly realized, this is dangerous.

Soon it was very dangerous. No one came.

I saw in the distance through a fence a house. I am the father. This is my job. I climbed the fence and ran to the house and knocked on the door. They were home. I explained that I had a wife and two small children in the car, and asked if they would let us in. They did.

This is a kind of cold you do not play with.

It is one more way God says, “Whether hot or cold, high or deep, sharp or blunt, loud or quiet, bright or dark . . . don’t toy with me. I am God. I made all these things. They speak of me, just like the warm summer breezes do, and the gentle rains, and the soft moonlit nights, and the lapping of the lakeside, and lilies of the field and the birds of the air.”

There is a word for us in this cold. May the Lord give us skin to feel and ears to hear.
