More than $200K repaid to feds after Cherokee County’s foster care errors

NC Department of Health and Human Services

The N.C. Department of Health and Human Services, housed in buildings on the campus of the former Dorothea Dix state psychiatric hospital, last year found years of errors by the Cherokee County Department of Social Services that required a costly repayment to the federal government. Cherokee County officials don’t seem to know about it.

The state and a small North Carolina county had to pay back more than $247,000 in federal foster care funds last year after mistakes by social workers and their supervisors.

The N.C. Department of Health and Human Services discovered the mistakes by the Cherokee County Department of Social Services and tallied up the costs during a deep examination of every open foster care case in mid-2018.

The audit followed the state’s temporary takeover of child welfare services in the county due to other violations that led to a criminal investigation of DSS.

But when Carolina Public Press asked about the foster care fund repayments, Cherokee County officials have so far either declined to comment or said they didn’t know anything about it.

At the same time, the former DSS director, Cindy Palmer, and possibly others, remain under criminal investigation by the state Attorney General’s Office. The State Bureau of Investigation took more than a year to examine issues related to the custody and visitation agreements and, as of September, additional issues that had come to light.

So who will be stuck with the bill again? Maybe the funds will come out of the extra 1/4 percent sales tax the Republican commissioners passed in the county. Don’t forget: it’s for the children.

THE TRAUMA BAG THAT FITS!

Gadi Adelman

There’s an old saying, “failing to plan, is planning to fail.” Sometimes the failure is nothing more than not having had a reason to think about it until it’s too late.

It can happen to the best of us, I’m a former Paramedic, and Trauma nurse and I should know better. I have two first aid kits in my vehicle and one in my home, but it never occurred to me to have one in my gun bag. Stupid, right?

I’m fortunate enough to have a target range on my property, which luckily is not far from the house. While practicing high-speed draw and shoot, my left thumb met the slide, and needless to say, it wasn’t pleasant. It was after splitting my thumb open and only having masking tape to close the wound, I realized, I should have a first aid kit with my gun bag.

So, my search ensued. To say there are a lot of first aid or trauma bags available would be akin to there’s a lot of sand at the beach. You can purchase bags for every situation, as well as either empty or pre-packed.

Being that every individual and the use of their kit is different; I opted to get just the trauma bag so I could stock it the way I felt would best fit my needs.

So There Was A List of People and Companies Who Would Not Be Prosecuted in Ukraine

Image result for ukrainian ambassador yovanovitch

As Glenn Beck outlined, the Ukrainian Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office was controlled by Ambassador Yovanovitch according to new information:

“Mr. Lutsenko went on to explain that there is a unit called Specialized Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAP) which has under its purview National Anticorruption Bureau Ukraine (NABU) which investigates corruption cases that involved public figures from Mayors upward. He stated that the current US Ambassador protects SAP and NABU,” adding “His office has absolutely no control over SAP or NABU and can’t even ask what they are working on however they fall under his “control.”

I am watching to see what the Deep State will do prior to the release of the Horowitz IG report on Dec. 9th. It appears that the Biden presidential run is history.

State Department Releases Detailed Accounts Of Biden-Ukraine Corruption

A liberal watchdog group’s attempt to nail Rudy Giuliani has backfired in spectacular fashion after their FOIA request resulted in the US State Department releasing detailed accusations of corruption against the Bidens – based on interviews with former Ukrainian officials who were in charge of the investigations.

Responding to a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit from the group American Oversight, the State Department on Friday night released almost 100 pages of records detailing efforts by Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani to investigate corruption, which include contacts with Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) earlier this year.

While American Oversight’s ‘gotcha‘ is that Giuliani had “multiple contacts” with Mike Pompeo and others while investigating Ukraine corruption, they completely ignore interview notes containing detailed allegations by former Ukraine Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin– who Joe Biden had fired, as well as his successor, prosecutor general Yuriy Lutsenko – who “believes Mr. Viktor Shokin the former Prosecutor General is honest.”

Nunes Suing CNN And Daily Beast Now

If you aren’t currently being sued by Congressman Devin Nunes (R-CA) yet you might be starting to feel like you’ve been left out of the club. Both CNN and the Daily Beast have been put on notice that the House Intelligence Committee’s ranking member will be summoning them to court over incorrect reporting on his dealings with Rudy Giuliani associate Lev Parnas related to Ukraine. One of the stories from CNN ran only yesterday, but Nunes informed Breitbart that lawsuits were on the way and could be hitting both outlets’ doorsteps shortly after Thanksgiving.

“These demonstrably false and scandalous stories published by the Daily Beast and CNN are the perfect example of defamation and reckless disregard for the truth,” Nunes told Breitbart News late Friday night. “Some political operative offered these fake stories to at least five different media outlets before finding someone irresponsible enough to publish them. I look forward to prosecuting these cases, including the media outlets, as well as the sources of their fake stories, to the fullest extent of the law. I intend to hold the Daily Beast and CNN accountable for their actions. They will find themselves in court soon after Thanksgiving.”

Worth Watching Again

Although this video is from January 2018, Mr. Greenfield’s points were prescient.

This is a civil war.

There aren’t any soldiers marching on Charleston… or Myrtle Beach. Nobody’s getting shot in the streets. Except in Chicago… and Baltimore, Detroit and Washington D.C.

But that’s not a civil war. It’s just what happens when Democrats run a city into the ground. And then they dig a hole in the ground so they can bury it even deeper.

If you look deep enough into that great big Democrat hole, you might even see where Jimmy Hoffa is buried.

But it’s not guns that make a civil war. It’s politics.

Guns are how a civil war ends. Politics is how it begins.

Bring Quality TV Back

One of my guilty pleasures is watching “It’s a Southern Thing” on YouTube. They are trying to raise $50,000 to make a pilot and need just a little more to reach their goal. Santa Clarita shooting: Weapon used in Saugus High attack a ‘ghost gun,’ sheriff says

473131-me-saugus-high-school-shooting

The gun used in last week’s shooting at Saugus High School was assembled from parts, a so-called ghost gun without a registration number, Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva confirmed Thursday.

Sheriff’s homicide detectives are trying to determine who built the .45-caliber handgun, a 1911-model pistol. The weapon included a partially built receiver, meaning it did not contain a serial number.

“About a third of all firearms seized in Southern California now are unserialized, and that is expected to grow,” Ginger Colbrun, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles region’s ATF office, told The Times in August.

John Solomon Drops 28 Uncomfortable Facts Crushing The ‘Debunked Conspiracy Theory’ Narrative

Why is Vindman not under arrest for perjury?

From John Solomon:

I want to exercise my right to debate Lt. Col. Vindman about the testimony he gave about me. You see, under oath to Congress, he asserted all the factual elements in my columns at The Hill about Ukraine were false, except maybe my grammar

Here are his exact words:

I think all the key elements were false,” Vindman testified.

Rep. Lee Zeldin, R-N.Y, pressed him about what he meant. “Just so I understand what you mean when you say key elements, are you referring to everything John Solomon stated or just some of it?”

“All the elements that I just laid out for you. The criticisms of corruption were false… Were there more items in there, frankly, congressman? I don’t recall. I haven’t looked at the article in quite some time, but you know, his grammar might have been right.”

Such testimony has been injurious to my reputation, one earned during 30 years of impactful reporting for news organizations that included The Associated Press, The Washington Post, The Washington Times and The Daily Beast/Newsweek.

I also would like to see a debate between “Mr.” Vindman and John Solomon to discuss the points outlined in his article. It is easy (and now acceptable) to lie when under oath when the proceedings have been fixed. Mr. Vindman should be applauded for his service. The question is to whom is he serving? He is not serving the people of this country. Based on what I saw, I believe he is serving the Deep State and perpetuating their false narrative while dressed in his military uniform.

I strongly believe that the dam is about to break and that the rats will be racing to turn against each other to mitigate their treason. This is not about Donald Trump: this is about an illegal coup of the government which must be stopped. Although I want justice, I once again want to caution against vengeance. Let the facts be evaluated fairly at their trials and let the guilty be hanged.

The Truth of the Deep State

Image result for “Those who are capable of tyranny are capable of perjury to sustain it.”

The label of Deep State is the accepted appellation for those who have performed a silent coup that was only exposed by the unexpected victory by Donald Trump. Those who have perjured themselves or lied while not under oath are not only capable of tyranny, they have implemented legalized theft, excessive taxation and unparalleled surveillance across the country.

While justice has long become a two-tiered system in the country, let us pray that the exposure, prosecution and execution of traitors will be made within the constraints of the rule of law as our founding fathers intended.
