Angela Merkel has a migrant “problem” and here’s what it looks like on paper:

Merkel’s open-door policy to Syrian asylum seekers scored the chancellor some badly needed PR points in the wake of fraught negotiations with Athens during which she and German FinMin Wolfgang Schaeuble were often cast as the miserly villains in Greece’s debt drama.

But enthusiasm for the migrant cause waned in Germany as hundreds of thousands streamed into the country after traversing the so-called “Balkan route”. Lawmakers are divided and the German people are increasingly on edge following the attacks in Paris and the scare in Hannover.

“Suddenly, Europe’s most durable democratic leader faces the most serious political crisis of her decade in office,” E.J. Dionne Jr. writes, in an Op-ed for WaPo. “In opening her country’s borders to what one German official called a ‘biblical march’ of refugees, Merkel called forth a series of paradoxes,” he continues. “On the one hand, Germans are deeply proud of their response to the migrants as tens of thousands mobilized to welcome them, but the initial glow of national pride is now shadowed by doubts and, in many cases, anger [as] more than 1 million refugees are expected to reach Germany, whose population is roughly 82 million.”

Over the past several weeks, we’ve shipped copies of SHTF Intelligence to hundreds of readers in the Patriot and Prepper community.  The response has been overwhelming, and I’m deeply appreciative of the support.

I’m not married.  I have no kids.  I didn’t write this book to help my family, I wrote it to help yours and to shed light on a poorly covered topic in the preparedness community.  Intelligence is such an important piece of surviving conflict, yet it’s completely overlooked on nearly every preparedness website.  Do you know why?  Because relatively few individuals have real experience in doing the work of intelligence in conflict.

That’s why I’ll be hosting a couple of webinars in support of the book.  If you purchased the e-book or the print version (or both), then you’ll be receiving an email to register for webinars in January and February.  I’ll do one each month to talk about some of the concepts in the book and to answer your questions.  It’s my way of saying ‘thank you’ for allowing me to do what I love: teaching intelligence in our small but growing community.

I’ve jam packed SHTF Intelligence with the how-to’s for building and running an intelligence section for community security in a SHTF situation.  In an emergency, the ability to gather and utilize critical intelligence information is going to make or break your security.  If you don’t have relevant intelligence before SHTF and no way to get it during SHTF, then you’re going to be screwed.  You’re going to be stressed and probably scared because you won’t know what’s going on.  I know what that feels like first-hand because the Taliban once breached our perimeter on my second tour in Afghanistan.  They were able to cut a hole through the fence one night because someone was asleep on tower duty and all our eyes and ears were focused outside the wire to prevent an attack inside it.  It doesn’t feel good.

As a People, we have become PASSIVE: things happen or they don’t happen. We don’t see ourselves as having any input one way or the other.

As a People, we are already DEFEATED in our minds — we are passively awaiting our ignoble end.

So we will just sit around and wait for God to do something.

But I am saying that such a mindset is a big part of our problem. The men have given up. That’s why the women are having to fight this. Because the men won’t fight.

Economic activity is slowing down all over the planet, and a whole host of signs are indicating that we are essentially exactly where we were just prior to the great stock market crash of 2008.  Yesterday, I explained that the economies of Japan, Brazil, Canada and Russia are all in recession.  Today, I am mainly going to focus on the United States.  We are seeing so many things happen right now that we have not seen since 2008 and 2009.  In so many ways, it is almost as if we are watching an eerie replay of what happened the last time around, and yet most of the “experts” still appear to be oblivious to what is going on.  If you were to make up a checklist of all of the things that you would expect to see just before a major stock market crash, virtually all of them are happening right now.  The following are 11 critical indicators that are absolutely screaming that the global economic crisis is getting deeper…

#1 On Tuesday, the price of oil closed below 40 dollars a barrel.  Back in 2008, the price of oil crashed below 40 dollars a barrel just before the stock market collapsed, and now it has happened again.

#2 The price of copper has plunged all the way down to $2.04.  The last time it was this low was just before the stock market crash of 2008.

#3 The Business Roundtable’s forecast for business investment in 2016 has dropped to the lowest level that we have seen since the last recession.

#4 Corporate debt defaults have risen to the highest level that we have seen since the last recession.  This is a huge problem because corporate debt in the U.S. has approximately doubled since just before the last financial crisis.

We see the Muslim ‘refugees’ flooding Europe at the invitation of the European governments. The European citizens are not consulted. Obama and the progressives are insisting that we accept large numbers of these people, as well. Of course, we’re not consulted, either. If we complain, we’re hateful racists and Islamaphobes.

At first, I thought this was just about destroying our respective cultures. Now, I wonder if something more sinister may be in play. Seems the Muslim newcomers are not comprised of families, but are primarily young military aged men. Begs the question …

It would seem that all these young Muslims need to carry out Jihad are weapons, which brings me back to all the .40 caliber hollow point ammo the Feds were buying a couple of years ago. We could see no logical reason for the purchase at that time. Maybe now we do?

I often ask the kids I teach if they can name one government in the history of the world that has been good to or for its people. I get crickets in response. Frankly, I can’t name one, either. Might be time to lock and load.

Will Liberty be restored in this country by men following women? Will Liberty be restored in this country by men fighting side by side with women? Why do I even have to ask such these questions?

There is no political solution. Our options are limited: take up arms to defend our families and country or submit.

Rationale for the elimination of entangling alliances in Europe, bolstered with eloquent logic from the script of Blackadder:

What if a Russian jet violates Turkish airspace for a few seconds again? What if Turkey shoots that one down too? What if Russia uses its increased defenses to retaliate? What if Turkey retaliates in turn? What if NATO makes good on its commitment to support Turkey such a conflict? What if all-out war breaks out between the West and Russia? Such a war could escalate to the use of nuclear weapons.

How secure does that make you feel? How do you feel about giving up your life, your children, your hometown, etc, for the absolute sanctity of Turkish airspace? Or for the sake of Turkish assets fighting alongside Syrian Al Qaeda to overthrow a secular head of state on the other side of the world? Or for the sake of protecting the flow of ISIS oil into Turkey and Turkish arms to ISIS?
