It is fairly easy to tell that the mainstream media is now taking the candidacy of Benjamin Carson very seriously. They are now questioning his religious beliefs and examining everything that he has ever said or written.
Doctor Carson is a 7th Day Adventists, and while they are criticized, they are in tune with mainstream Christianity on the major tenants: creation in six days, the fall of mankind in the Garden of Eden creating original sin, the Virgin Birth, the divinity of Christ, the Trinity, a belief in Satan, that God inspired the authors of the Bible, the inerrancy of scriptures as written by the authors, salvation by the atonement of Christ, and most other dogma. This will not keep some Christians who belief that any faction outside the walls of their denomination is a cult from shunning Carson based on his religious convictions. Some may remember that many fundamentalist Christians sat at home on their thumbs thereby allowing Obama to defeat Romney in the last presidential election. Hopefully these same people will have noted the error of their way in that judgment and not repeat it—but I wouldn’t bet a lot of money on that.
Probably the greatest difference between 7th Day Adventists and mainstream Christianity is their observance of Saturday as the Sabbath. When the earth and all around us was created there was no calendar—therefore, any day has a one in seven chance of being the intended day or rest—but some folks get really hung up on which day should be observed.
As to whether Joseph had the pyramids built to store grain in them, I would disagree with that opinion, but, to my knowledge, there is no empirical evidence to support when or why the pyramids were built. And to go one step further, there is no way to confirm that a Joseph actually lived or ruled Egypt. There are many who feel that the exodus, the story of Joseph, and other claims regarding the Israelites are merely fanciful tales which have no bearing in truth. Of course Bible literalists would take umbrage with that opinion.
No doubt Doctor Carson had a troubled childhood while living in poverty without the benefit of a father and was no doubt tempted by the culture of helplessness that permeates many within the inner city dwellers. It is perfectly understandable that he would act out as a child, considering his intellect and desire to achieve and all the obstacles in his way; it seems a normal reaction to me.
Back to the point at hand; Doctor Carson is a threat to the liberal community because of his skin color coupled with his political beliefs. He was a wonderful role model for the Black community until the day that he announced that he was running for president as a Republican—that does not fit the herd mentality of the liberal Black community. So now he is no longer a role model – now he is merely another Uncle Tom in the mold of Secretary of State Rice, Supreme Court Justice Thomas, author Larry Elder, and others who do not share the widespread victim mentality of the Black community.
The great fear is that Carson, with his quiet dignified demeanor could sway many Blacks to favorably consider him in the primaries and the national election if he should win the nomination. The last thing that the NAACP, Congressional Black Caucus, and others who feed off the herd mentality within the inner cities of American want is a Black man who challenges their hateful, fear mongering rhetoric.
This should not be taken as my indorsement of Doctor Carson, but it is an observation of the way that the media skewers a decent man who is a conservative candidate and ignores the shortcomings and failings of liberals who could not carry his lunch in an ethical comparison.

The US military-intelligence complex is engaged in systematic preparations for World War III. As far as the Pentagon is concerned, a military conflict with China and/or Russia is inevitable, and this prospect has become the driving force of its tactical and strategic planning.
Three congressional hearings Tuesday demonstrated this reality. In the morning, the Senate Armed Services Committee held a lengthy hearing on cyberwarfare. In the afternoon, a subcommittee of the House Armed Services Committee discussed the present size and deployment of the US fleet of aircraft carriers, while another subcommittee of the same panel discussed the modernization of US nuclear weapons.
The World Socialist Web Site will provide a more detailed account of these hearings, which were attended by a WSWS reporter. But certain preliminary observations can be made.
None of the hearings discussed the broader implications of the US preparations for war, or what a major war between nuclear-armed powers would mean for the survival of the human race, and even of life on our planet. On the contrary, the hearings were examples of what might be called the routinization of World War III. A US war with China and/or Russia was taken as given, and the testimony of witnesses and questions from senators and representatives, Democrats and Republicans alike, concerned the best methods for prevailing in such a conflict.

Taxpayers have paid for intact human fetal brains intended for use in medical research, at a cost of as much as $1,080 per brain, according to documents obtained through a public records request.
Researchers at the University of Connecticut studying brain development for the National Institutes of Health have used federal funding for over a decade to obtain up to two fetal brains per month.
Internal emails between Dr. Nada Zecevic, a neuroscientist at UConn, and officials at Planned Parenthood and StemExpress shed light on the tissue procurement process for medical research, the subject of an ethical debate since the release of a series of undercover videos targeting the nation’s largest abortion provider.
Between 2012 and the present the project spent $10,161.73 on fetal brain tissue, according to records maintained by the university and additional invoices obtained by the Washington Free Beacon.

With great sadness, a Columbia City, Indiana, family shared with us that their infant son recently lost his life after receiving routine vaccinations and Tylenol.
One year-old Michael Whitesell loved playing with his older brother, Keegan. They were always together. No one predicted they would be forced apart after Baby Michael was vaccinated.
Michael Eugene Whitesell was born on September 30, 2014.
At the age of one, on October 19, 2015, he was taken in for his one year well-child visit. He received the MMR, varicella, hepatitis A, and flu shot vaccines. This is six vaccine doses.
Three days after this well visit, Michael had a slight fever. His pediatrician suggested to his parents that they give him some medication to reduce the fever. His parents gave Michael some Tylenol and his fever went down.

But the authorities assure us it’s not terrorism. Notice that ABC News buries the lede and only mentions it at the very end of the article.
“UC Merced attacker’s manifesto PRAISED ALLAH, cops say terrorism NOT A MOTIVATION,”Right Scoop, November 5, 2015
More from ABC 7 News on the manifesto discovered:
UC Merced Chancellor Dorothy Leland says personal animosities, not a political agenda, motivated 18-year-old Faisal Mohammad from Santa Clara in Wednesday’s multiple stabbings on the school’s campus. Authorities say the stabbing of four people at UC Merced was not related to terrorism.

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker signed off on a new administrative rule Tuesday that will require drug testing for welfare recipients starting next week.
The rule was written by the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families and requires testing for “certain able-bodied adults” receiving welfare benefits — such as food stamps, unemployment insurance, or job training — to pass a drug test, according to The Capital Times.
Walker said in a statement, “Our 2015-17 State Budget implements common-sense reforms that put in place drug screening, testing, and treatment mechanisms, so we can continue strengthening Wisconsin’s workforce.
Employers across the state frequently tell me they have good-paying jobs available in high-demand fields, but need their workers to be drug-free. These important entitlement reforms will help more people find family-supporting jobs, moving them from government dependence to true independence.
At least 13 states have passed provisions similar to Wisconsin’s, according to the National Conference of States Legislatures. They are: Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Utah.

The hacker group Anonymous on Thursday released its much anticipated trove of purported information about the Ku Klux Klan’s membership.
The large data dump includes nearly two-dozen social media pages allegedly affiliated with the KKK and information on nearly 400 people, including names, email addresses, Facebook pages and known aliases.
“We consider this data dump as a form of resistance against the violence and intimidation tactics leveraged against the public by various members of Ku Klux Klan groups throughout history,” said Operation KKK, the team that has been leading Anonymous’s online onslaught against the Klan, in the preamble to the release.
No politicians or government officials were apparent in an initial review of the data, although several of the names were identified as retired law enforcement officers. Some of the names on the list have already been identified through previously published reports.
