Supreme Court strikes down ‘born in Jerusalem’ passport law

Image result for obama jerusalem sovereigntyThe Supreme Court struck down a disputed law Monday that would have allowed Americans born in Jerusalem to list their birthplace as Israel on their U.S. passports in an important ruling that underscores the president’s authority in foreign affairs.

The court ruled 6-3 that Congress overstepped its bounds when it approved the law in 2002. It would have forced the State Department to alter its long-standing policy of not listing Israel as the birthplace for Jerusalem-born Americans and listing only “Jerusalem.”

The policy is part of the government’s refusal to recognize any nation’s sovereignty over Jerusalem, until Israelis and Palestinians resolve its status through negotiations.

Justice Anthony Kennedy said in his majority opinion that the president has the exclusive power to recognize foreign nations, and that the power to determine what a passport says is part of this power.

Why Is The Army Hiring People To Provide ‘Emergency Support To Disaster Stricken Areas Throughout The US’?

Natural Disaster - Public Domain

Does the Army expect that there will soon be “disaster stricken” areas all over the country?  As you will see in this article, a job advertisement has been posted on a federal website seeking workers that “will provide emergency support to disaster stricken areas throughout the US“. This was originally reported by Shepard Ambellas of Intellihub, but it is not receiving nearly as much attention as it perhaps should.  What parts of the nation does the U.S. Army believe will soon be “disaster stricken”?  By itself, this job ad wouldn’t be raising that many eyebrows, but when you combine this with the unusual number of “military training exercises” that are taking place all around the country and with the very strange movements of military equipment that have been reported recently, it gives the appearance that the U.S. military is feverishly making preparations for something big.

You can find the job advertisement that I mentioned above right here.  The following is an excerpt from that job posting…

Employees occupying these positions will provide emergency support to disaster stricken areas throughout the US. Employees must pass a stringent medical screening and be prepared to live and work in extremely austere conditions. Work schedule will initially be arduous, with much overtime. Sleeping arrangements may be limited to using a sleeping bag or in the vehicle used to move from location to location. The duty station for pay purposes for these positions is Kennewick, WA with possible 75% or Greater Business Travel in various locations throughout the US.

Soros Pushes US Bailouts and Weapons for Ukraine

by Ron Paul

If you look at the track record of the interventionists you might think they would pause before taking on more projects. Each of their past projects has ended in disaster yet still they press on. Last week the website Zero Hedge posted a report about hacked emails between billionaire George Soros and Ukrainian President Poroshenko.

Soros is very close to the Ukrainian president, who was put in power after a US-backed coup deposed the elected leader of Ukraine last year. In the email correspondence, Soros tells the Ukrainian leadership that the US should provide Ukraine “with same level of sophistication in defense weapons to match the level of opposing force.” In other words, despite the February ceasefire, Soros is pushing behind the scenes to make sure Ukraine receives top-of-the-line lethal weapons from the United States. Of course it will be up to us to pay the bill because Ukraine is broke.

But Soros seems to have the money part covered as well. In an email to Ukrainian leaders, he wrote that Ukraine’s “first priority must be to regain control of financial markets.” Soros told Poroshenko that the IMF would need to come through with a $15 billion package, which was confident would lead the Fed to also come through with more money. He wrote: “the Federal Reserve could be asked to extend a $15 billion three months swap arrangement with the National Bank of Ukraine. That would reassure the markets and avoid a panic.”

Who Is Arming ISIS?

Iraqi security forces lost 2,300 Humvee armored vehicles when Islamic State overran the northern city of Mosul in June 2014, Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi said on Sunday in an interview with Iraqiya state television. Coupled with previous losses of American weapons, the conclusion is simple: The United States is effectively supplying Islamic State with tools of war the militant group cannot otherwise hope to acquire from its patrons.

In addition to the Humvees, Iraqi forces previously abandoned significant types and numbers of heavy weapons to Islamic State. For example, losses to Islamic State include at least 40 M1A1 main battle tanks, as well as small arms and ammunition, including 74,000 machine guns, and as many as 52 M198 howitzer mobile gun systems. “We lost a lot of weapons,” Abadi admitted. – Reuters, June 2, 2015

Iraqi Prime Minister Abadi may be the most honest politician on the planet, at least judging by this one statement. His troops most certainly did “lose a lot of weapons.”

Let’s add this up. Iraqi forces abandoned and/or lost some 2,300 armored Humvees, 40 M1A1 battle tanks, 74,000 machine guns and 52 howitzers. This is not simply “a lot of weapons.” It is more weaponry – and better weaponry – than the entire army has in many nations, and doesn’t include what the Islamic State acquired in its many subsequent victories.

Cop goes on profanity-laden tirade in affluent suburb, pulls out his gun on two kids

By Simon Black

I’ll be up front with you and say that this video is disturbing.

It’s like a bucket of ice-cold water thrown in the face of the dream world that most people are walking through.

Watching riots on TV in places like Baltimore and Ferguson, it’s easy to think, “That couldn’t happen here. All that police violence only happens in poor communities.”

Guess again.

This weekend it was the safe, quiet suburb of McKinney, Texas, about 30 minutes outside of Dallas.

McKinney is no gang-infested slum; it’s an affluent bedroom community with an average household income over $96,000 according to Colliers International.

(Having grown up just a few miles away, I would add that it’s pretty sterile too, full of big-box retailers, megaplex cinemas, and chain restaurants.)

Over the weekend some local kids were having a summer pool party to celebrate a friend’s birthday.

With that many adolescents crammed together in one place, there was undoubtedly some silly teenage drama going on. And police were called to the scene.

One of them starts off almost immediately screaming profanity-laden tirades at the kids, many as young as 14.

This courageous officer’s advice to young people included such gems as “Sit your asses down,” and “Don’t make me fuckin’ run around with 30 pounds of goddamn gear on. . .”

At one point throws a girl to the ground who had apparently failed to ‘get her ass out of here’ with appropriate alacrity.

You can see him grab her neck and attempt to shove her face into the pavement.

The kids all start screaming. Two of them rush over to try and help their classmate, at which point Captain America pulls his gun out and advances menacingly towards them.

They bolt. So he turns his attention back to the girl, grabs her head once again, and screams “ON YOUR FACE!!!” as he pins her down on the ground and puts her in handcuffs.

It’s really disturbing to watch.

IMPRECATORY PSALMS: CAN WE PRAY THEM TODAY?

Romans 13:4 – For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to [execute] wrath upon him that doeth evil.

Proverbs 21:15 – [It is] joy to the just to do judgment: but destruction [shall be] to the workers of iniquity.

John 8:32 – And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

James 4:17 – Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth [it] not, to him it is sin.

The big question is this, “Do the imprecatory psalms and Christian ethics clash? I’ve asked several Christian friends if they’re praying these psalms. Some say yes, some say no, and others have said they pray both the imprecatory psalms as well as praying for their enemies to be led to Christ.

What are the imprecatory psalms? Imprecatory psalms are those psalms that contain curses or prayers for the punishment of the psalmist’s enemies. To imprecate means to invoke evil upon, or curse. Psalms 7, 35, 55, 58, 59, 69, 79, 109, 137, 139, and 140 all contain prayers for God’s judgment on the psalmist’s enemies. These psalms perplex many. Consider, however, that the purposes of these imprecations are:

1. to demonstrate God’s just and righteous judgment toward the wicked (58:11)
2. to show the authority of God over the wicked (59:13)
3. to lead the wicked to seek the Lord (83:16) and
4. to cause the righteous to praise God (7:17).

UK warns 500,000 migrants could try Mediterranean crossing

Naval vessels from Italy, Britain, Ireland and other countries steamed toward the waters off Libya on Saturday to rescue the latest wave of migrants from smugglers’ boats. British authorities warned that up to 500,000 people could attempt the perilous crossing this summer.

Capt. Nick Cooke-Priest, on the British warship HMS Bulwark, told reporters aboard: “Indications are there that there are 450,000 to 500,000 migrants in Libya who are waiting at the border” for voyage from the North African country’s Mediterranean coast in hopes of reaching Italian shores.
Also aboard the Bulwark, part of a multi-nation patrol and rescue force, was British Defense Secretary Michael Fallon. “We could see hundreds of thousands trying to cross this summer,” Fallon told reporters who asked about the captain’s half-million figure.

During Saturday, a total of 3,480 migrants had been safely rescued in 15 separate operations, the Italian coast guard said. Calls for help went out via satellite phone earlier in the day from the smugglers boats, which included six rubber dinghies and nine fishing boats, all some 45 miles (72 kilometers) off the Libyan shoreline, the coast guard statement said.

GRNC again asking for help on HB562

 GRNC Alert 6-5-15

My email to the Republican legislators:

HB562 and other bills to restore an unfettered Right to Keep and Bear Arms

Madame / Sir:

I am very disappointed that Republicans who were elected to the North Carolina Assembly have turned their backs on on the concept of individual liberty, and refuse to restore Rights protected by the Second Amendment.

Particularly disappointing are actions of Ted Davis, Leo Daughtry and John Fraley who almost killed HB562. This ‘Gang of Three’ have betrayed their constituents. Do not risk sharing their fate.

Actions at the General Assembly demonstrate there is little value to be gained from begging the legislature for permission to do that which is ours by Right – to obtain and carry the tools we determine necessary for defense of our lives.

When unalienable rights of men are conditioned by a legislature, men receive a mere hologram of liberty until future legislators change their minds and revoke their privilege.  Then men will realize they never gained an affirmation of their pre-existing Right.

Alarmists wave their arms and scream “safety!”.  Ben Franklin commented a long while ago:  “They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.”

Legislation that goes beyond injury to persons and damage to property is both aggressive and tyrannical. Such statutes, ordinances and regulations should be bent, broken, circumvented by all men – openly and proudly.

Repeal all statutes, ordinances and regulations malum prohibitum that restrict acquisition and carry of personal arms for self defense.  Decriminalize the historically lawful behaviors of peaceful men and women.

By operating a “police state”, you are teaching peaceful men and women that it is moral to disobey the dictates of the legislature; that voluntary outlawry is preferable to irrational submission.

Hans Mentha
“The state calls its own violence law,
but that of the individual, crime.”

And you cannot enslave a free man;
the most you can do is kill him.”

Why Is The EU Forcing European Nations To Adopt ‘Bail-In’ Legislation By The End Of The Summer?

Are they expecting something to happen?  As you will read about below, the European Union says that any nation within the EU that does not enact “bail-in” legislation within the next two months will face legal action.  The countries that are being threatened in this manner include Italy and France.  If you fast forward two months from this moment, that puts us in early August.  So clearly the European Union wants everything to be squared away by the end of the summer.  Is there a reason for this?  Are they anticipating that something really bad will happen in September or thereafter?  Why such a rush?

We all remember what happened when major banks were “bailed out” during the last financial crisis.  A tremendous amount of taxpayer money was given to the big banks to help prop them up so they wouldn’t fail.  This greatly upset a lot of people.

Well, when the next great financial crisis hits Europe, banks are not going to get “bailed out” this time.  Instead, we are going to see “bail-ins”.

So precisely what is a “bail-in”?  Essentially, what happens is that wealth is transferred from the “stakeholders” in the bank to the bank itself in order to keep it solvent.  That means that creditors and shareholders could potentially lose everything if a major bank in Europe fails.  And if their “contributions” are not enough to save the bank, those holding private bank accounts will have to take “haircuts” just like we saw in Cyprus.  In fact, the travesty that we witnessed in Cyprus is being used as a “template” for much of the new legislation that is being enacted all over Europe.

Guinea extends Ebola emergency measures

Guinea extends Ebola emergency measures

Ebola-hit Guinea has extended a health emergency declared in March until the end of June, citing the persistence of the deadly virus in the country, the presidency said on Saturday.

The decision was taken on Friday by President Alpha Conde, the statement said, after he met his counterpart from Sierra Leone, Ernest Bai Koroma.

Impoverished Guinea and its neighbours Sierra Leone and Liberia have registered more than 11,000 deaths since the epidemic flared up in December 2013.

Liberia was declared Ebola-free in May, but the virus continues to thrive in Sierra Leone and Guinea.

In August last year, Conde declared a health emergency for the whole of Guinea. Then on March 28, 2015, he decreed a “reinforced health emergency” for five provinces in the west and southwest of the West African country.

“Given the persistence of the epidemic… in parts of Guinea and Sierra Leone,” Conde and Koroma decided “to extend the reinforced emergency measures in their countries until June 30, 2015”, the Guinean presidency said.

STRATCOM DEPLOYS BOMBERS NEAR BALTICS

B-52 bomber (AP)

Three nuclear-capable bombers deployed to Europe this week for large-scale military exercises near Russia, the Strategic Command announced Friday night.

The B-52s from Minot Air Force Base, North Dakota, are currently operating from a base in Britain and joined maritime naval exercises in the Baltic Sea called Baltops 15, the largest naval exercise by NATO forces in the region this year.

The exercises are being held on and above international waters in the Baltic Sea and in Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia—the Baltic states—and Poland.

All four nations fear Russia’s military aggression in Crimea and continuing destabilization in eastern Ukraine will be followed by Moscow’s use of military force against them.

The Baltic states last month asked NATO to permanently deploy up to 5,000 troops to the region to deter NATO aggression. Poland also wants a permanent NATO military presence.
