How Low Can Obama Go: Israeli Sanctions?

While the federal government continues its course on the road to serfdom, the pResident may be expanding his supposed power grab by issuing sanctions against Israel. When you are going for broke (literally), a caged animal will lash out in any and all directions.

Congress Demands Obama Explain Rumored Sanctions Against Israel

Members of Congress are demanding that President Obama come clean about controversial reports that he is considering leveling sanctions on Israel, according to a letter sent Friday afternoon by lawmakers to the White House.

The Obama administration has found itself engulfed in controversy since reports emerged Thursday that the White House and State Department had met in secret to strategize about imposing sanctions on Israel for its continued building of houses in contested Jerusalem neighborhoods.

State Department and White House officials have continued to dodge questions from reporters on the matter, maintaining that they will neither confirm nor deny the reports.

The administration’s evasive position has prompted outrage among pro-Israel leaders and prompted Congress to demand that Obama start answering questions about the delicate issue.

Online news sites to be blacked out during next major catastrophic event?

According to what I’m hearing from several sources in my network of contacts, the U.S. government is putting systems in place to black out online news sites like Natural News, Drudge Report, The Blaze and many others. A practice run that took place earlier this week in California has already achieved this result and confirmed the technical ability to make it happen at will.

The recent outage of news sites experienced by internet users in California was reported by this article on BeforeItsNews.com and confirmed by The Washington Times, The Blaze and other sites. The Natural News reader service team also recorded numerous complaints from California users who were unable to reach our website even though our site was fully functional and serving pages worldwide.

What was especially telling about this outage is that it only affected online news sites while allowing other internet traffic to flow normally. This selective targeting of news websites could have been accomplished by “deep packet inspection used inside the routers that move information packets along the internet,” reported Before Its News technical staff. “This technology allows ISP’s to look inside the packets your computer sends and receives and then make a decision to allow the packets through, modify the packets or block them. This technique can also be used to slow or speed up traffic.”

The selective targeting proves that this was not a general outage. The traffic blockage was specifically targeted to online news sites.

Black lawmakers want Brown, Garner families invited to State of the Union

Members of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) are talking about inviting the families of Eric Garner and Michael Brown to President Obama’s State of the Union address in Washington next month.

The lawmakers – who have universally condemned the justice system’s response to the killings of the two black men at the hands of white police officers – say the presence of the two men’s relatives would send a strong signal that Washington policymakers are serious about tackling criminal justice reform head on.

“I think that would be appropriate and fitting,” Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.), the civil rights icon, said Thursday. “It would help educate and sensitize other members and humanize some of the issues that we’re going to confront.”

Rep. Hank Johnson (D-Ga.), another black lawmaker who has led the CBC’s charge against the militarization of local police forces, echoed that message.

Although, having the families of Michael Brown at the State of the Union may be more representative of our government than what our founding fathers gave us.

Centcom: No Clear Links to Taliban in Killing of Army Two-Star

Secretary of the Army John McHugh, left, and Army Chief of Staff Gen. Ray Odierno, third from left, watch an Army carry team transfers the remains of Army Maj. Gen. Harold Greene at Dover Air Force Base, Del., Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014

An investigation into the Afghan national police officer who shot and killed a U.S. Army general in Kabul last August found “no clear evidence” the shooter was part of the Taliban or a terrorist group, according to a U.S. Central Command report.

The report into the shooting, which killed Maj. Gen. Harold Greene and wounded 18 others during a visit to the Afghan National Defense University, stated that the shooter, Rafiqullah Tashkera was a “self-radicalized” jihadist.

Rafiqullah opened fired on a group of soldiers that had gathered for a briefing at the university on Aug. 5. Greene, the deputy commanding general of the Combined Security Transition Team—Afghanistan, was the highest ranking officer killed in an overseas conflict since the Vietnam War.

History . . . Ignored and Forgotten

History Repeats

One of the most important lessons parents can teach their children is the natural consequences of their actions. If you do “A,” the most likely result is “B.” Children armed with this knowledge are more likely to make life decisions that lead to successful and positive outcomes. In addition, with maturity should come the understanding that not every choice leads to success and that one must be willing to accept the responsibility for failure as well as victory.

How incredible it would be if nations could learn these same lessons. Imagine the progress mankind could achieve if we stopped using the same erroneous facts, flawed logic, and an ignorance and denial of historical truth to expect different results from similar actions.

COLD WINTER PREDICTED

Late fall and the Indians on a remote reservation in North Dakota asked their new chief if the coming winter was going to be cold or mild.

Since he was a chief in a modern society, he had never been taught the old secrets. When he looked at the sky, he couldn’t tell what the winter was going to be like.

Nevertheless, to be on the safe side, he told his tribe that the winter was indeed going to be cold and that the members of the village should collect firewood to be prepared.

But, being a practical leader, after several days, he got an idea. He went to the phone booth, called the National Weather Service and asked, “Is the coming winter going to be cold?”

“It looks like this winter is going to be quite cold”, the meteorologist at the weather service responded.

So the chief went back to his people and told them to collect even more firewood in order to be prepared.

A week later, he called the National Weather Service again, “Does it still look like it is going to be a very cold winter?”

“Yes”, the man at National Weather Service again replied, “it’s going to be a very cold winter.”

The chief again went back to his people and ordered them to collect every scrap of firewood they could find.

Two weeks later, the chief called the National Weather Service again. “Are you absolutely sure that the winter is going to be very cold?” “Absolutely”, the man replied. “It’s looking more and more like it is going to be one of the coldest winters we’ve ever seen.”

“How can you be so sure?” the chief asked.

The weatherman replied, “The Indians are collecting loads of firewood.”

Constitutional Law Enforcement

by Gerry Donaldson

Note: Includes material from Law Journal Article “Are Cops Constitutional?”

Growing up in America, we have come to believe that the mass numbers of law enforcement officers (Federal, State and Local) that we see in our daily lives are “normal.”  However, professional police were COMPLETELY unknown to our American founders in 1789!  Their first appearance in America was almost a half-century after the Constitution was ratified!

According to their writings, the Founders were committed to having law enforcement as primarily the duty of private citizens. The few appointed constables and sheriffs would only be called upon when necessary, predominantly for serving writs and performing civil duties. Modern law enforcement is in very many ways inconsistent with the original intent of America’s founders and our founding documents.

Uniformed law enforcement numbers have grown exponentially over the past century and now stand at hundreds of thousands nationwide. The average citizen is unaware that law enforcement expenses now account for the largest segment of most municipal budgets and generally dwarf the expenses for fire, trash, and sewer services.

The colonists who framed our Constitution would have seen the modern ‘police state’ as completely alien to their foremost principles. Under the criminal justice model, copied from the English Common Law, professional police and law enforcement officers were completely unknown.

The general public (meaning you and I) had broad law enforcement powers and only the executive functions of the law such as the execution of writs, warrants and orders, were performed by constables or sheriffs who regularly called upon members of the community for assistance. Even the initiation and investigation of criminal cases was the almost always carried out by individual citizens of the community!
