Serve and Protect is Now “Search and Destroy”

militarization of police.jpg-large

Anyone who has been paying attention is aware that we have a growing domestic terrorism problem here in America.

And by domestic terrorism, I mean our militarized police departments.

Here’s how the FBI defines domestic terrorism, from their website:

“Domestic terrorism” means activities with the following three characteristics:

  • Involve acts dangerous to human life that violate federal or state law;
  • Appear intended to intimidate or coerce a civilian population;
  • Occur primarily within the territorial jurisdiction of the U.S.

Indeed, uniformed thugs police officers kill more Americans every year than terrorists do. In fact, we are eight times more likely to be killed by a cop than by a “terrorist.”

Radley Balko, author of “Rise of the Warrior Cop,” wrote in the Wall Street Journal in August:

“Since the 1960s, in response to a range of perceived threats, law-enforcement agencies across the U.S., at every level of government, have been blurring the line between police officer and soldier.

“Driven by martial rhetoric and the availability of military-style equipment—from bayonets and M-16 rifles to armored personnel carriers—American police forces have often adopted a mind-set previously reserved for the battlefield. The war on drugs and, more recently, post-9/11 antiterrorism efforts have created a new figure on the U.S. scene: the warrior cop—armed to the teeth, ready to deal harshly with targeted wrongdoers, and a growing threat to familiar American liberties.” (source)

Spain is Militarizing Against Citizens – The Coming Civil War?

Spain-Militarizing

The Spanish government is militarizing gearing up for violent protests against the EU that are expected to turn up before a hot autumn. Spain is now equipping the police for about one billion euros with new combat equipment. Violent protests in Spain since the crisis began almost a daily occurrence. Movements such as 25 de Mayo or the Indignados call Spaniards of all strata of the population to protest against the government on the streets. The police will always respond violently. They cover up their brutal responses by banning any video of police beatings making it a crime in itself. This is certainly illustrating the loss of freedom and any democratic process within Europe. The police scandals have only charged the atmosphere within the population and we may see this erupt into civil war as we move forward.

Turkey Denies U.S. Permission for Combat Attacks on ISIL

Recep Tayyip Erdogan

Turkey will not allow a U.S.-led coalition to attack Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant terrorists in Iraq and Syria from Turkish air bases, AFP reports.

Turkey will also not participate in combat operations but will instead focus on humanitarian aid to the countries. ISIL currently controls large portions of territory in Iraq and Syria along Turkey’s borders.

” Turkey will not be involved in any armed operation but will entirely concentrate on humanitarian operations,” a government official told AFP.

Turkey has come under fire by some critics for indirectly encouraging the formation of ISIS because of its support of Islamist opponents of Syrian President Bashar Assad, and its loose control of its borders.

Poland Says Russian Gas Deliveries Tumble By 45%; Europe To Launch Sanctions On Friday, Russia Will Retaliate

Yesterday, when Gazprom was supposedly “troubleshooting its systems”, we reported that in what was the first salvo of Europe’s latest cold (quite literally, with winter just around the corner) war, Poland complained that up to 25% of its usual gas deliveries from Russia had been cut. Russia indirectly hinted that this was also a result of Ukraine using “reverse flow” to meet its demands, with Europe allowing Kiev to syphon off whatever gas it needs without paying Gazprome for it. It also led Poland to promptly admit it would halt reverse flow to the civil-war ridden country. Fast forward to today when Polish financial website Biznes reports that things are going from bad to worse in Russia’s energy retaliation war, after Poland claimed a 45% shortfall in Russian natgas imports as of Wednesday.

Not surprisingly, Gazprom has said that is not the case, which leaves two options: either someone is lying, or the Ukraine is quietly, and illegally syphoning off gas destined for Europe.

There are always consequences for your actions. What did Europe think would happen when they implemented sanctions against Russia? Regardless, winter is coming.

Today Show Recommends Protecting Your Family With Anything But Firearms

Earlier this week, a report on The Today Show about “simple tips to keep your family safe” discussed every form of home defense imaginable…except guns.

The tools that The Today Show deem more effective than firearms include activating your car alarm, sleeping with your door open and keeping a can of wasp spray handy.

The report stated that there are 50,000 home invasions in the United States each year. For advice on how to stop these intrusions, the reporters turned to a burly former detective named Wallace Zeins. Each of Zeins’ suggestions was more ridiculous than the last.

Political Insurance: Bill Whittle’s Free Speech is Under Attack!

Once Again Obama Shows That He Is Clueless About What Is Going On In The Middle East

Why would Barack Obama want to give hundreds of millions of dollars of weapons to groups inside Syria that are selling weapons to ISIS and regularly fighting alongside them?  Is he really that clueless about what is going on in the Middle East?  The FSA and other groups of “moderate” fighters inside Syria do notconsider ISIS to be an enemy.  Rather, they consider ISIS to be an important ally in the struggle to overthrow the Syrian government.  In fact, many “moderate” units have actually joined ISIS in recent months.  If Obama gives more weapons to the “moderate” fighters in Syria, it is inevitable that a lot of them will end up in the hands of ISIS.  In a previous article, I already discussed how ISIS is talking over vast stretches of Syria and Iraq using mostly American weapons.  If the Obama administration goes ahead with this plan to arm “moderates” in Syria, it is just going to make ISIS even stronger.

Without a doubt, ISIS is an organization that is absolutely seething with evil.  They have been running around beheading journalists, crucifying their enemies in public and even cutting children in half.  ISIS has promised to drown America “in blood“, and the only way to appease them would be for every single one of us to convert to their version of Islam.

But Obama’s strategy to “defeat ISIS” makes absolutely no sense at all.

Obama’s Rise of the Machines

50 protestors gather to have the minimum wage raised

Companies will replace low-skilled workers with machines if President Obama’s 40 percent minimum wage hike passes, according to a survey of top accounting professionals.

A Duke University survey of chief financial officers (CFOs) found that a $10.10 minimum wage would lead to layoffs, curtail future hiring, and replace low-skilled workers with machines.

“In general, firms indicate they could reasonably accommodate a modest hike in the minimum wage to $8.75 but substantial negative consequences would kick in as the wage approaches $10,” the survey concludes. “An ongoing shift away from labor and towards machinery will accelerate if the minimum wage is increased.”

The survey examined how CFOs, who are the top accounting officials at companies, would respond to increasing the federal minimum wage from its current $7.25 to $8.25, $10, and the $15 wage backed by union front groups and fast food activists. The business leaders overwhelmingly said that the leap to $8.25 was manageable, but the 40 percent hike to $10 per hour would hurt workers, especially entry-level and low-skilled employees.

OBAMA: ISLAMIC STATE ‘IS NOT ISLAMIC’

In his prime-time speech to the nation on the eve of the 13th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terror attacks, President Obama vowed to “degrade and destroy” the Islamic State insurgency in Iraq and Syria with airstrikes and 475 U.S. boots on the ground – but he also made a particular point of declaring that the Islamic State terrorists “are not Islamic.”

“Now let’s make two things clear: ISIL is not Islamic,” Obama said, speaking from the state floor of the White House residence. “No religion condones the killing of innocents, and the vast majority of ISIL’s victims have been Muslim.”

Reject Statism …

Part of a longer post that is worthy of your attention:

Libertarianism: The Anti-Utopian Philosophy

Instead of the ultimate freedom to exchange as we see fit in a utopia spared creativity stifling government pressure, we will have fascism.  If we go far to the right, no matter how well intended, we will create a brutal regime using the incredibly idealistic goals of the libertarians to stomp on the faces of the vast majority of our American citizens to benefit a tiny, wealthy minority.

One of the most important aspects of libertarianism is its inherent rejection of utopianism. If you listen to any other political philosophy, all of them inevitable boil down to getting “the right guys” in charge. It is the fallacy of the golden gun: state violence magically becomes noble when employed by these good guys. If the Stanford Prison and Milgram experiments teach us anything, it is that political power in and of itself is the abuse.

Any system that depends on the right guys to be in charge is flawed both theoretically and practically. It assumes that some people have the right to initiate violence against others as long as their intentions are noble (who judges this?), that they seek nothing but the public good (what is the public good? who defines it?), and that good results can come from evil means (using violence or the threats of it). But then what happens when these “good guys” lose power? The same power given to them will inevitably fall into the hands of people who disagree with the former benevolent rulers.

This seems like a perfect microcosm for the Left-Right debate in America. Every few years, we go back and forth on who will get to use the state monopoly privilege against whom.

….

Despite having millions of guns pointed at us by liberals, conservatives, fascists, socialists and communists, we are building free societies against all odds and state regulations. We have no grandiose ambitions of revolutions; those are for neocon warmongers and socialists. We humbly seek liberty, and to set an example to others on how civilization is built upon the pillars of individual liberty, private property, and non-aggression.

We would never dream of imposing our values on anyone else. All we ask of other political philosophies is that they give us the same tolerance and respect.

The closing statement sounds a lot like:

“… unobstructed action according to our will, within the equal rights of others …”

House Republicans’ CR Funds Planned Parenthood and All Obamacare

Barack Obama and John Boehner

The continuing resolution that the House Appropriations Committee introduced yesterday and that the House Republican leadership is preparing to bring up for a vote on the House floor puts no limits on funding Planned Parenthood—the nation’s largest abortion provider—or any provision of Obamacare, including the regulations that force Christian individuals and organizations to buy or provide health insurance that covers abortion-inducing drugs.

“The bill is ‘clean’ and does not contain highly controversial provisions,” says a press release put out by the Appropriations Committee.

“We have reached the point where a Continuing Resolution is necessary to keep the government functioning and avoid another shutdown,” said Appropriations Chairman Hal Rogers (R.-Ky.). “It is a critical piece of legislation, and my Committee has crafted the bill in a responsible, restrained way that should draw wide support in the House and Senate. This bill is free of controversial riders, maintains current levels, and does not seek to change existing federal policies.”

he Era Of Widespread Biometric Indentification And Microchip Implants Is Here

Identification Biometric - Public Domain

Are you ready to have your veins scanned every time you use your bank account?  Are you ready to use a “digital tattoo” or a microchip implant to unlock your telephone?  Once upon a time we read about such technologies in science fiction novels, but now they are here.  The era of widespread biometric identification and microchip implants is upon us, and it is going to change the way that we live.  Proponents of these new technologies say that they will make our private information and our bank accounts much more secure.  But there are others that warn that these kinds of “Big Brother technologies” will set the stage for even more government intrusion into our lives.  In the wrong hands, such technologies could prove to be an absolute nightmare.

Barclays has just announced that it is going to become the first major bank in the western world to use vein scanning technology to control access to bank accounts.  There will even be a biometric reader that customers plug into their computers at home
